I think the guy in blue did a great job shaving the sheep. No blood was drawn. I've seen countless others sheep shearing and there were always nicks and cuts. But this dude did well with zero cuts.

I mean I doubt the nicks and cuts bother the sheep that much, they’re most likely happy they got their heavy and warm wool off of them. But yea it’s definitely a good job either way.

Different sheep breeds have varying types of skin and folds (as well as temperament), so some are easier to peel without nicking than others for that fact alone. He has some great skill undoubtedly too though, indeed!

Nicks usually happen when the sheep is overdue for a shearing. The heavier the wool is, the more it pulls on the skin, which makes it easy to cut as you glide across it.

I just saw a sheep get saved on the dodo channel and i wanted to see more sheep so i searched for sheep and i got this sheep video

@i-mm-o res if you don't shear them, the hair keeps growing and growing and doesn't fall out on its own. Look at the video "sheep sheared 80 pounds of wool" to see what happens if a sheep goes unshorn for too long. (The sheep in the video got lost in the woods for a couple years I think.)

Sheep spa day: Nails, hair and a bath. These sheep are well taken care of actually. Hats off to those who do this ( back breaking at times) work.

At the Western Washington Sate fair they have a sheep to shawl demonstration. When I was there one year they had a sheared sheep in a pen close to the doors and it was windy, cold, and rainy out and, the sheep was standing there shivering away as to say "hurry up with that shawl. I'm freezing here!"

Hey guys, though the sheep handlers seem to be rough and "mean" with the sheep. They are actually trying to be as thorough and swift as possible in a way that the sheep aren't harmed and they can get through the rest of the flock in a timely manner. Sheep are squeamish, so holding them down or keeping them still is what's best for a good job. Plus, sheep love being sheered. Imagine holding weights that only get heavier as you go about, then suddenly taken off your hands.

Agreed. When I first saw them getting lifted up I was like "gosh, I wish I had this machine!" But then I saw how neglected the hooves were. His trim job was pretty awful too. That must be awfully uncomfortable to walk on.

Those manual shears sure are a thing to see. Not gonna lie, the ones in the video there are a good bit fancier than any of those that I've ever seen. The ones I remember from childhood were just two big chef's knives held together by a bent metal spring. Men knew how to use them and the sheep maybe got a nick here and there at most, much like anybody shaving would. But still, they were pretty lethal looking.

I find the mutual bond between humans and sheep’s amazing they provide us with clothing and other things while we keep them fed and alive and to the people who have a problem with sheep sheering it actually helps the sheep because the wool can grow to a point where it becomes hard for them to survive

Domesticated sheep wool grows like that due to breeding over thousands of years (~11,000-13,000) of human-animal husbandry. There's a bond and mutual benefit, but it's also not like ancient wild sheep were helpless after a couple years into adulthood and fell over to die from all the wool.

I love how one sheep tries to come back inside after shower, and gets gently shooed away. so cute.

0.50 Look at the length of those hooves. Not much routine animal husbandry there 🤔 Anyone who shears sheep without nicks has my full respect. Such skilled and exhausting work especially when done by hand 👍 Thanks for posting.

Back in the late 70s (I was in my teens) a farmer I worked for had a guy shear his sheep and I helped him with the sheep. The guy doing the shearing ( Paul) said if the sheep's feet are not touching the floor they usually just set and don't struggle. He always asked me if I wanted to learn how to shear them, I always said no but Paul was good almost never nicked or cut them.

I like the shower part..and their fur looks so much better bc they give them showers along the way...the wool is so pretty!! and the sheep holder, lifter so their toes and feet can be done so their little feet don't hurt. *Very nice operation...and those are happy sheep..you can tell.*

наши слушать не хотят. вчера масло покупал. спрашиваю как делает - морду воротит. говорю если прогнать через сепаратор подогретые до 80С сливки то сразу вкусное масло получается и хлопот нет. Не верит. Проверь говорю на литре. Вообщем все как всегда - лишь бы новое не внедрять

@@user-og1he5rc5y я не перепутал. В сепараторе разогретые сливки совершают поступательные движения в чашках и эффект тот же. Только быстрее и масло однородное. Возьмите 1 литр сливок. Подогрейте (кажется до 80 гр) и прогоните повторно. Налейте в пластиковую тару и поставьте в морозилку. Потом напишите что у Вас получилось
