Thank you for helping these very hard working donkeys, horses and mules! I just do not understand the mentality of their owners, surely it is better to have a problem rectified as soon as it is discovered rather than leaving it until it becomes a major issue? Thanks again for helping these beautiful animals.

He may not be the greatest farrier but at least he is trying to do something. I've watched so many videos of horse's with overgrown hooves that it makes me sick.

Me too - and in China the greenhorn-trimmers are obviously not used to treat the frog/to remove the rotten horn. I suppose that schools for farriers don`t exist in that country, all the donkeys shown in the YT-videos have extremely overgrown hooves. The people trim the hooves by means of gardening tools and huge "knives" which are similar to a shovel. And they all seem to hate these donkeys - they treat them harshly. Watch "overgrown hooves - donkeys" to be written as title and I promise that you will go crazy as I did. Kind regards from Charlotte (78 y.o.) from Europe (Germany)

Here we call that a hack job. I can always tell the hacks because the horse recoils in pain. Start with correct tools. Obviously an impoverished area best they can do. Hope horse survived

Yep. Hoof is still wildly deformed and ill-balanced, but I suppose this is the best they can do with what they have. I have never seen a frog so far back from the quarters in my life

Согласен! Из за живодёров хозяев, жадничающих на перековке, у несчастной лошади начала деформироваться нога и осанка. Выправлять и лечить теперь уйдет много времени, а хозяева глупы и скупы, - лошадь и дальше будет страдать и хромать. Коваль очень малограмотный, а навыки и инструменты на уровне каменного века. Он лишь слегка облегчил страдание лошади, но не исправил причину... Очень печальная история...

Ничего у неё не гниёт, это хозяева- живодёры, экономили на перековке, и совершенно не заботились о ногах лошади. В результате у лошади развилась неправильная осанка, она лежала, как собака, вместо того чтобы стоять.... Русские ковали гораздо лучше и гуманнее относятся к лошади, не вяжут ей ноги, не стучат молотками по копыту, как по деревяшке.... Русские ковали в процессе ковки дают лошади возможность отдохнуть, переступить с ноги на ноги, перенести на кованную ногу свой вес. А удары молотком направляют не в кости лошадям, травмируя ей копыто и суставы, а себе в ноги, поэтому куют аккуратнее... А ЮВА и Польша, куют так как будто у них не лошадь, а деревянное полено, - колоти молотком сколько влезет.... Такую же аккуратную манеру ковки как у русских, (копыто у коваля в коленях), я видел у "реднеков" США. Они тоже любят и берегут лошадей...

he is doing ok but yes, some proper tools and a bit of guiding and perfect. He doesn't even have a small tool for cleaning the frog.

完全没有必要，在我们中国，讲究实用主义，只要不影响干活，就没必要做的很完美，再怎么完美实用性也不会增加。

I have rode horses just about all my life. Seeing things like this hurts me. If you can not take care of them get rid of them

I agree and the guy wasn't even good that worked on his shoes either. I swear you can hear the horse whince in pain as it passes the camera.

This guy is an expert at continuing to hurt these poor animals. He needs to actually learn how to do this properly. He’s clearly home taught cause if this is how he’s been taught the people who teach this way need a new job

不完全是，干活的驴马是会经常修，不干活的就不怎么修。特别是肉用的，除非脚疼的影响进食长肉了，才会修。农民收入并不高，虽然全面小康了，但很多农民的收入刚过线，与其担心动物福利，不如先担心人的福利吧。

I would love to see tradesmen from different cultures coming together and compare the very different styles of hoof trimming and hoof treatment, as all these tradesmen are also skilled blacksmiths I can only imagine what kind of hybrid tools that might be created when worlds collide!

If they wanted to they could come together here and discuss on KZread advantages and disadvantages of their methods and their tools, but probably they don`t. " .....as all these tradesmen are also skilled blacksmiths.....": I can`t imagine that this is the case for example in the Far East as well because the trimmers of the poor donkeys ("overgrown hooves - donkeys") don`t use all the tools which are (in my opinion/Germany) necessary for proper trimming. I don`t think that in those eastern countries schools for blacksmiths could exist who teach these old-fashioned, rough, mediaeval and noxious methods we see in the videos. And I don`t know why there is all this old and poisonous dirt (stable manure?): When "my" hoof-experts had begun working all the ground was properly cleaned before. And when one of my ponies had been ill I never asked my hoof-experts for treatment - of course, the vet came!!!

Your doing pretty good with what you have. I watch other channels , they have all this fancy stuff the newest models of everything. You have a hammer a bar of metal and a wicked looking blade and that’s all you need to do the same job. The goal is to let the animal walk without pain. Good Job👍🏻

That shoe is what they call a heel&toe the lugs are for traction.

I had look again. Yep it’s a mule. I watch another one of these and they were calling it a donkey. Nope, that was a mule as well.
