A nice song. Supertramp, as I have stated many times before, has been my favourite band since I was 13 in 1975 and first heard the album Crime of the Century. Supertramp is equal parts cynical/realistic and spiritual in terms of its lyrics. This is one of the more spiritual songs by Roger Hodgson. You need to react to three other songs off Breakfast In America that I rarely if ever hear on the radio - Oh Darling, Child of Vision and Just Another Nervous Wreck. EVERY tune off their five LPs between 1974 and 1982 are either good, better or great. React to anything off the all-time classic album Crime of the Century bu especially School, Bloody Well Right, Hide in Your Shell, Asylum, Dreamer, Rudy and Crime of the Century. Off Even In The Quietest Moments listen to Fool's Overture, Give A Little Bit, Babji and, personal favourites of favourites, From Now On and Lover Boy. Off Crisis? What Crisis? react to Another Man's Woman, Sister Moonshine, Ain't Nobody Like Me, Lady and A Soapbox Opera. Enjoy. I really look forward to seeing/hearing your reactions.

This is why we listened to an entire album as opposed to radio hits. Really good bands like Supertramp created emotional paintings. You want on a journey. I distinctly remember the first time I heard Tapestry. Or Zappa's Apostrophe. Horses from Patti Smith was a personal revelation. You lived within the life of the album. And that feeling of discovery could be exchanged and shared with your contemporaries. Revolutions were born from listening to kick-ass music. One name: Dylan. Beyonce's Lemonade is a contemporary example. Good music moves people. A fantab concept meticulously executed can influence a generation.

PD. No olviden que les he recomendado varias veces esto: (HIDE IN YOUR SHELL) Versión de estudio, para que adivinen ese sonido "UNICO" en una banda.

Wow I was 15 as well and felt the exact same way as you . Bet we would have been friends. Sure miss those simple days.
now you need to listen to the other supertramp lead singer Rick Davis on piano singing " Downstream"
Supertramp is such a crazy talented band. Roger's voice is like no other.

Supertramp and YES had the same manager (Brian Lane) and at one time he tried to get Roger to write with Jon Anderson as some members of YES thought that Jon's lyrics were getting to "Arty-Farty." When Jon Anderson left YES Roger was suggested as a replacement for the band.... It might have been an interesting combination.
I love the album "breakfast in America", great album
So glad you guys reacted to this song, it's always been one of my faves from them
This song feels like a prayer
I JUST learned This on the Piano 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Supertramp is truly amazing. Thank you for reacting to them again.
Beautiful, I have never head this sone before....🎹🎶🎵🎼 Thanks for reviewing it! 😄
Yeah, pure talent
They used to close their shows with this song .
OMG, I actually first heard this song as a teenager in the movie Roller Boogie (haha), but still love this song (and Supertramp) to this day. Similar to being introduced to their song School in the film Little Darlings. So many fun teenager movies.
I really listen to this song as an adult more than when it came out when I was a teenager
Child of Vision. Is my favorite from Breakfast in America
Favorite Supertramp song. Child of Vision is a good one as well, should check it out.
One of my all-time favorite songs! So powerful. So emotional.
Breakfast in America and Candy-O by The Cars came out in 1979 these are two great albums to end the 70s decade❤

Wow I've been listening to Crime, like a lot of their albums...but "If everyone was listening" is a total classic.
such a great song! such a great album! i am overjoyed that you did this! Oh Darling from this album is a must listen!
YES....oh, I've been wanting to hear your reaction to this! One of my absolute favorite Supertramp songs. The power in the lyrics, Roger's vocals & the dynamics of the instrumentation is top tier.
Now do “Just another Nervous Wreck” from the same album for a great change of pace both musically and lyrically from this one. You won’t be disappointed
You need to check out another brilliant Supertramp classic.... Fools Overture. Roger Hodgson's vocal range gets a true test of its range in this one.
Roger Hodgson, the lead singer of Supertramp released the song "Had A Dream" from his first solo LP/CD in '84 that you may like. You'll find numerous short and long versions of this song.
This song is so sweet
This song saved my life in 1982 and it may have to do it again soon.
This is really one of my favorite spiritual songs from Supertramp!!! Love Love this song!!!
So glad you did this song. A real sleeper. This song is very powerful.
I just love revisiting my old classics with both of you, your reactions are priceless! Sharing the same goosebumps through the same musical lines makes these moments sooooo enjoyable! Thank you!
The older I get, the more I appreciate this song. Thanks for the reaction. Loved Supertramp.💕
Clearly you heard the listeners. This is a deep cut from this iconic album. One of my favorite Supertramp songs. Great job!
I think I needed that as much as you guys did, has a simpler times feel to it! when life seemed less complicated!
Absolutely one of my favourites from Supertramp.
Jackie De Shannon’s song from the sixties “ what the world needs now is Love sweet Love “
‘Beatlesque’. Absolutely. There are tons more Supertramp you should listen to. Child of Vision is off the same album. It might be a longer track but it’s well worth checking out. It’s faster and more up tempo. There is lots of piano and lots of horns. As the title suggests, it carries a compelling meaning, even if it is heavy on instrumentals.

And with Child of Vision I suggest the album version because the piano solo is longer and more varied. (in my opinion)
This is one of my fav album ever.❤
Supertramp is one of those groups that you put their albums on and just let it play. I look forward to songs from Crime of the Century, Crisis, What Crisis and Even in the Quietest Moments.
One of my favorites from them ❤️
Hopefully, after you have heard all the tracks on this album, you can go back and listen to it in its entirety. Great reaction as usual. 👍
Great song, from a great album. You need to do "Child of Vision", which closes out the album. The instrumentation on it is great.
Such a thoughtful song
this song has the most perfect sung chord sequence at the climax (around 5:45). it gives me chills every time.
Wow - a flood of memories hearing this song! I had this album and wore it out! I’d come home from school and my mom had it cranked up. Thank you for choosing this song. You made me smile. ☮️ ❤
Their Even in the Quietest Moments has a similar vibe, and is amazing. Fool's Overture, and Rudy are both amazing as well.
Beautiful song!
PD. No olviden que les he recomendado varias veces esto: (HIDE IN YOUR SHELL) Versión de estudio, para que adivinen ese sonido "UNICO" en una banda.
What a perfect song for right now. Even as an early teen when this first came out I couldn't get through this song without tears. So many things I don't understand about the world we live in. The only answer is love. If you want more of this kind of Supertramp I would recommend Even in the Quietest Moments. If you are wanting more action I would suggest Cannonball.
I LOVE Supertramp, and to me this is the most moving song they have, one of my favorite songs of all time, gives me chills every time
The whole "Famous Last Words" album is an artistic master piece. Give "Put on your old brown shoes"a go
I Love Supertramp. One of my favorite songs, too. I am old and grew up with the best music. I have all the Supertramp albums in original vinyl. Glad to see some young people enjoying them. IF you have not checked out Fools Overture from the Even in the Quietest Moments album, please do.
"Rudy" from the Crime of the Century album

I prefer the version from their live album, "Paris!"
This was very relaxing and serene. Nice request.
Love Supertram. Especially the breakfast in America album. Thanks for sharing this with us. Keep up the awesome work. Hello from Pa USA 🇺🇸 ❤❤❤.
Always a pleasure listening to Supertramp.
For more Supertramp try "Child of Vision", "Asylum" and "Fool's Overture"! Peace!!
If you like this side of Supertramp you simply must listen to Even in the Quietest Moments or Downstream from the Even in the Quietest Moments album.
My favorite song from the "Breakfast in America " album. Never a hit but just gorgeous.

They truly are!
I recently added this song into a playlist for my wife’s memorial
I don't know if you've covered it yet but my Favorite Supertramp song is "Hide in your shell" another slow song with deep meaning that Roger wrote when he was still in his early twenties and shy. He said something about being able to express through song what he felt too shy to talk about.
