Many birds have that ability,, thus why they can sometimes be more colorful then mammals. Would be interesting to know if their extinct theropoda cousins had the same ability with their quills/feathers.

When I got married in 2017, I moved in with my husband & his mother. I've introduced her to the little hummers. This year, 2021, she was standing at the front screen door looking out & one flew up to her and was right in her face, looking at her. She sits by the window and I have a feeder at her window, so I told her it probably recognized her. She was so very excited. It's amazing how such a small hummer can bring such joy to a 74 yr old. 💞 I was excited to see her so happy 😊.

I care more about "my" hummingbirds during the summer than anything else. A gallon of sugar water a day. My trees seem like a swarm of bees. I inherited the house and the responsibility. My grandmother kept generations of them fed. I watched this video and it reminded me, my small part helps them feed their chicks. They get all competitive with each other...until it starts to rain, then, it's a lets all get what we can drink. Watching the ruby throats and emeralds all feeding together reminds me how we should all be getting along.

Some really interesting comments here. Just a couple of thoughts as I read them. About enjoying things without bringing in spiritual beliefs... for me, my beliefs are part of me, they are not an add on. So when I enjoy something my enjoyment flows out of my life as a Christian. The other thing is that I don't have a problem with honest comments like things appearing creepy if they are not what you expect. It's not an abusive comment. And if people want to discuss beliefs openly, honestly, respectfully as they reflect on the origins of something which both enjoy and appreciate, then that's fine by me :) After all, like the hummingbird, we're all going to die and it's important that we give serious thought to what happens after death. God Bless and thanks for watching.

You're most welcome. Wish I had more time to make them. The hummingbird video took a very long time but it was very much worth the effort. As our country NZ is on lockdown now due to Covid-19, it has given me the opportunity to work on one more that I hope will be as enjoyable as the hummingbird video. Getting very close to finishing.

My uncle's a Christian to the bone (reads the bible every night), but no matter what the church or his family says he'll always love his gay daughter.
