    Eastbourne is a great place to fish, why be secretive about it? Share your location to help others. You were once a newbie but it looks like KZread has gone to your head, you don’t own the spots so share them for other anglers to enjoy, it’s not like you’re going to be there 24/7 is it.

    Agreed it’s a beautiful place. Plenty of mark guides on the channel to help Anglers find marks with Eastbourne featuring. It’s always a tricky decision sharing marks with balancing helping newbies too. For me researching and finding your own spots is so rewarding with Bass all along this coastline.

    A lot of homework goes into finding spots that hold decent fish. The thing with sharing spots is sometimes it's not only anglers who will come fish the spot, the commercial guys will come in and net the place and take every last fish ruining it for everyone. 👍

    Yes finding your own locations under your own steam is rewarding - Love the early morning Bass the best time ( so close in but a live bait mackerel, Pouting Etc is a killer presentation ) by all means keep a few spots for yourself excellent diplomatic answer take no notice of rogue comments your podcasts videos are an excellent human presentation with gaffs and fun comments 😄👍🏽 hope you get a few more early morning action adventures 🐟

    This guy is prob one of the most open guys about marks..he got videos showing you marks he fishes and marks you can check out ect..so either you haven't watched his other videos as you would know because you sound like a jealous fisherman?? Also part of fishing is searching and trying new places or same places diff tactics ect..I live around the Gower yet I still know little marks and other people I know have some very good marks yet I don't ask and not worried to be honest..I know certain areas they fish but not the tactics or tides sometimes..and sometimes as other said you have commercial rapers and groups of clowns wrecking a place and some spots are just best left little known and kept quiet between close buddys...also Matt you won't get banned for showing live baiting as KZread shows big hog hunting with guys blasting shotguns at hogs like ten foot away,,also there many live baiting techniques on here for fishing,,just like to know your way/s as I may try live baiting for cod this winter for a laugh lol..great bass by the way bro!!

    Incredible footage Matt. Can fully endorse what your saying about the Whitebait,Mackerel ,Bass - food chain. About 12 years ago. We were fishing the North - Eastern side of Bardsay Island facing n.east to the sound toward Aberdaron. My mate had a big Bass that got off his peeler, Mackerel everywhere ,that much you could have opened a cannery lol. But my main point was that the Whitebait made the sea looked like it was boiling. Every Sea Angler should experience this phenomenon; it was great to see that again on ye vid Matt. Hi quality as usual. Phil

  • @SaltwaterAngler

    @SaltwaterAngler

    Thanks Phil , there is a good clue between bass hitting mackerel and mackerel hitting white bait and that’s the height of the gulls that follow. If they are low it’s mackerel if high it’s bass ..... well that’s the theory 😀 it must of been awesome for you to witness on Enlli. There was an old legend from ynispiod on uwchmyndd that one evening in the early 80s a shoal was so vast it stretched across the sound from meudwy to the island ! There were people picking up fish from the same shoal on the mainland and on bardsey ! I doubt it’s true but that place sure has some magic .

I have been fishing for more years than I care to remember, now 68, I started at around 5 or 6 years old. One of my best ever spinning results was a 5 3/4 LB bass, caught on an 8ft fibreglass rod, a mepps spinner, fixed spool reel, sorry can't remember the name of it but, have a very clear picture of it in my mind. It's nice to get back into some spinning/ plugging, and some of the more recent lures that are now on the market, even going to have a go on the fresh water scene as well. Looking forward to it too. I will check as I took a scale sample. These measure its age by rings a little like rings on a tree and I should be able to find out the good growing years too.

    I really enjoy neaps because it involves less wading through sticky estuary mud at my favourite spot and doesnt chuck so much weed down. A lot of bait fishing guys love the springs because the fish cover more range. Just found the channel and love it. Really useful as a relatively new lure fisherman. Cracking stuff 👍

    Nice one maybe check out our guide to watercraft or lure fishing on the channel. I was always told that the big springs bring fish off the wrecks and in to the beaches and shoreline .However mine and friends catch reports do not back this up and in fact it’s the opposite with some of my best fish coming on neaps! It’s a world of contradictions

    I totally disagree, keep your marks to yourself ! There is nothing worse than giving hard earned knowledge to a novice angler them catching fish and giving it large about what they have caught ! When truth is they were only fishing at that mark due to the knowledge passed on by a experienced fisherman who has put the days ,months ,years on the beach ! Including all those blanks but keeps going . If you want fishing to be easy ! Get a game on your phone or computer ..
