John I love watching your videos. I live in the NC mountains about thirty miles from Appalachian college in Boone so there are numerous places to fish within a fifty mile radius. If you want to catch a lot of good quality fish you just need to be willing to wade. I have fished for miles at a time in the local waters around here and have encountered very few other fishermen unless there was a road running along the waterway. May GOD continue to bless you.

I continue to be amazed by the number and quality of fish that you catch! The "creeks" in the area where I live are so muddy... The only way you can tell where the bank stops and the stream starts is because sometimes the stream is moving. Moving mud. We get nothing like what you catch. Very enjoyable to watch. :-)

My type of creek; that looks very similar to the streams I fish here. It's amazing how these streams change character based on the topography. Where I live, it's flat and swampy in places, and the rivers are pretty wide, tidal, and ringed with cypress trees. Drive a little ways north, into the hills, and they look a lot like this stream. Most of ours, in their upper reaches, have a lot of sand.

Because creeks often have trees encroaching from both sides, conventional casting is often difficult or impossible. I developed a technique that uses the rod and lure like a bow-and-arrow. The timing has to be precise, but you can shoot a lure into a pocket that would normally be inaccessible. Some of the best pockets along a bank would have to go unfished without that trick.

This is the best kind of fishing...exploring... catching fish...staying cool in the water...and you usually end up with a few big ones...other people spend 20k for a bassboat and cook in the sun all day for 2 or 3 large fish. You want big ones....upsize a bit to a kayak and a bigger river...same thing...exploring...catching fish...staying cool in the water...and you usually end up with some even bigger ones. Rivers and streams are sooo much fun. Keep up the great fun!!!

Hey John, I know exactly what you mean when you say these creeks change. That's something I have noticed through the years, and sometimes it doesn't take long for some creeks to change their characteristics such as depth, rapids, and deep holes. Good little video, and a classic example of clear stream fishing.

beautiful creek. running water is always so pretty. such a great time in the outdoors. I use to creek fish when I was in HS, but that was 56 years ago. We used top waters that had 5 treble hooks on them. Highly illegal lol. Lots of fun though. Here in East Texas, we always had to contend with the cotton mouths. But, we were young, didn't matter. Really enjoyed your video.

Beautiful creek. I love the fishing in South Florida, but we lack the beautiful secluded nature that these tiny creeks have.
