Rainy Fall Creek Fishing (middle Tennessee)

Спорт

Got to fish one of the most beautiful creeks that i have ever been too. The weather was rainy ad getting colder, a typical late October day. The day ended with a painful loss of a 3-5 pound fish that took off and snapped my 6 lb extra tough line like it was nothing. I will most certainly be back to fish this creek and search for those smallmouth next summer when the weather warms up, if i dont go sooner.

Hey man, hope you feel better. Those fish that break your line are there for a reason. Rejoice because you are doing the right things to hook them up on your presentation. They are reminders that you have the right game plan in action for the conditions that you are fishing and from what I saw in this video, you were having a "hot" day. John, those rock bass were absolutely gorgeous fish. I don't think I've seen better looking rock bass in your vids in terms of color and size. Thanks for sharing.

Wow John! That was without a doubt one of your best videos. Those rock bass are so brightly colored and of good size. I caught several just like those this past summer, really yellow golden colored with blazing red eyes- absolutely beautiful! In my opinion this species is one of the most under-rated gamefish out there. Tennessee has some really fine creek fishing. The state record Rock Bass was caught in the Stones River in 1958 by Bill Sanford. It weighed 2 lbs. 8 oz. My personal best is right at 11 inches, and it weighed 1 lb. 2 oz. I hear that the Buffalo river has some good smallmouth and rock bass fishing. I know they also have a canoe rental program there, so you can fish and canoe down the river as well. In regards to the big one you lost.....well, don't feel bad because I lost a really nice bass this summer, but instead of breaking my line, he just came un-hooked. It happens to the best of us.

Nice fishing! Hate to see that break-off. That light line can get damaged easily...have to check it all the time. I use the SOS lines from Leland lures...seems to be super tough and super slim and low tangle...I haven't had a break off in the two years I have used it. Not a commercial...just passing it along. Keep the vids coming...helps with these cloudy blah days.

Hard-core fisherman always find a way to fish. Under the bridge out of the rain and here come the fish. We all have lost fish before, so don't feel bad. For "me" I use 10# test braid, just for times like this. Snags, trees, rocks, etc. all can fray yer mono line. Tho ya do real good with mono. Stay with what works for you. Thanks for a cool video.
