+Nykeria Brown It works both ways, there is an interview where Michelle says Gina saved her life too. That Castro made her eat a sandwich with mustard that she is highly allergic to and Gina was keeping her stimulated as her throat was closing up, telling Michelle to be strong for her son. So it is sad that they all don't unite, its non of their fault as to where they were and how they were treated.

+Nykeria Brown according to Michelle's movie , Gina and her met up and Gina told her that her family thought it best for them to separate for her healing. There is also a big age gap between Michelle and Gina and Amanda. Michelle was 21 , Gina and Amanda were 15 when they were abducted. I could imagine it very painful for all of them and also each person heals differently.

I feel absolutely horrible that no one was looking for Michelle. So sad. I also find it kind of heart breaking that it's always Gina and Amanda, while they told Michelle that they wanted to go separate ways. No one did anything mean to one another but I find it sad that Gina and Amanda have each other and still communicate while Michelle doesn't have any connection with them anymore and has to cope with her past on her own.

My heart breaks knowing what the “3” girls endured but the most heartbreaking is how these 2 girls regularly go into the public together for all kinds of interviews, WITHOUT Michelle. From what I have read and watched, Michelle was kidnapped before Amanda and Gina and Michelle suffered horrendously at the hands of that monster. She was the unknown victim (or “victor” as she has stated) and her story is not one of love. Her city, her family, her friends and these 2 girls show no support to Michelle. I am so hurt to see all the LOVE and support Amanda and Gina receive without a mention of the poor girl before them. Michelle faced death and excessive abusive horror, beatings deliberately inflicted to cause 5 miscarriages whilst having to deliver another’s baby. I personally could NOT stand before the public or accept any city support without all the victims by my side. Michelle deserved just as much love and support 💔 ❤️‍🩹

I started the book today and they stated in the prologue that they invited Michelle to be a part of the book with them but she declined becauwe she felt she had her own story and had also written "Finding Me". I have been watching interviews like crazy wondering why the girls seem to have animosity towards Michelle and Gina stated that Castro would manipulate Michelle and Amanda to not trust eachother all those years. I also watched Michelle's interview with Dr. Phil again and she was upset with Amanda for not mentioning herself and Gina in the 911 call. I am sure it's a culmination of things that cause all this discord.

Ebony Liletta Actually, that would not make much sense. The girls were kept separated for a short while in different rooms but then Gina was moved into the same room where they were either chained together or locked in the room. Amanda was in a different bedroom that she ended up sharing with her daughter. I watched all the Dr. Phil interviews with Michelle and it is never stated that Michelle aided Castro in preventing the other two girls from escaping. In fact, Michelle mentioned the one time she tried to escape and it fell through and there was one time she and Gina tried to plan another escape together but that fell through as well. The only thing that is mentioned in interviews is how Castro forced Michelle to drill holes in the walls and run chains to create a new 'torture chamber' for a new victim. Obviously, I think that if its true that Gina and Amanda made mention in their prologue that they invited Michelle to participate, they had the foresight to draw conclusions on what some people might jump to but wanted to make it known that discluding her was never the intention. I have listened to Michelle as well and I think some of this 'rivalry nonsense' does get blown up out of proportion. While I think it is evident that Castro played Amanda and Michelle off of each other during those horrific years and there would understandably be residual feelings of resentment over that, none of these girls seem to be bitter on the outside towards each other. I think they are all doing theit best to try and move forward. Michelle's most recent interviews even sound upbeat. She admitted to reading their book and was sincere about how they did a great job with it. She always wishes them the best, explains they took different paths in their healing process, and she would even be open to a reunion in the future. Simply put: The differences most likely come to how they all chose to heal. Amanda and Gina opted for more privacy in their journey forward. Michelle has caught public attention, people are drawn and flock to her when she leaves home. I believe she has more of a universal calling to help others and this is what she has been actively doing with her time. She attends many events and is passionate about getting her message of hope and never giving up out there. I truly admire her, she is a beautiful soul who has come along way. Also, Michelle has made the decision to forgive their captor while Amanda has admitted she can not in her interview and Gina seems on the same page. Like it has been stated by Michelle herself: different paths in their individual process of healing. Nothing wrong with either path. It just means the women are perhaps destined for different things in their post captivity life.

Let me clear a few things up. I have been following this case for years, watched all the news reports, read both books by the girls. First, Amanda was scared to death to even attempt to leave the house. She wrote about all the emotions she felt in their book, Hope. As far as Amanda not mentioning the other girls being in the house, it matters not !! Once one girl is out, the others would be saved. She wanted to get the police on the line fast so that she could make sure A/C was arrested. I think she handled herself quite well in the face of panic during her break out. It was Jocelyn who went downstairs and reported back to her mother that A/C was gone and at that point Amanda decided to investigate. The bedroom door was unlocked and so was the front door but the storm door was locked. Odd side story: Amanda was trying to break open the storm door and was yelling Help Me! and a Spanish speaking man walked by and stared but did not help when a woman walked by and shook her finger at the man. They both walked away. Amanda didn't realize that the bottom panel of the door was cheap metal and continued to stick her arm out of the door screaming for help. Then finally the other man started to kick out the panel on the door and told her to continue to kick out the rest. Once she was out, she grabbed Jocelyn and ran to find a phone and essentially they were all free. If one is out so are all three. There was no time for formalities. Amanda was the brave soul that crept downstairs and chanced that A/C wasn't pulling another prank on them. By mistake he left their door unlocked and also the front door. I don't think at that point, Michelle and Gina were chained up but their door was locked. I'm not sure about this point though. He would pretend he was leaving to see if they would try to escape. After 10 years of that, they were always living in fear. You have to read the books in order to know what they went through and their mental state. They are still quite fragile. The girls each went through their own version of PTSS and will need counselling for the rest of their lives. As far as the book, Hope, is concerned, Michelle was offered to participate in the book but declined. Michelle also wrote her own book about a year ago. I believe she has more work to do to overcome the horrendous treatment she endured. The publisher might have advised not to mention Michelle without her permission or Michelle herself might have requested not to be mentioned in it. Either way, it wouldn't be accurate for anyone but Michelle to write about what she experienced or how she felt. Finally, Michelle was not abandoned by the other girls, after all she shared a room for most of the time with Gina. They were very supportive of each other. Gina bought a dress for Michelle through A/C. He used to give them money like he was paying prostitutes so they had a few buck but it was up to him whether or not he would actually purchase anything for them. Just to show how sick A/C was, he would lie to one girl about another feeding each of them lies so the girls weren't sure if they could trust each other. He played so many games making life hopeless. A woman on my job said to me "didn't A/C's wife know the girls were in the house?' How she got that idea, I have no clue. I mean, you really need to read the facts before you pass judgment on people that were living in a desperate situation.

secretaryandactress I think Gina and Michelle's door was unlocked but they didn't know it. Michelle and Gina give two completely different versions of what happend on the day the were freed. Gina says the were watching a movie and then both heard Joce tell Amanda that Castro was gone. They both wondered if they could try to escape but hestitated and listened through their door. According to Gina they thought that when Amanda's was breaking open the front door which made a banging sound, it was Castro who had returned and was beating Amanda so they stayed put. In Michelle's book Michelle claims that they were listening to the radio really loud which is why they didn't hear anything and they didn't listen through the door. Michelle claims when they her the banging sound from Amanda breaking free, she thought burglars were in the house who might kill them so she decided to hide. Even when the police arrive Michelle thought the burglars were coming upstairs. Her version is completely different to Gina's version.

Everyone is commenting about Michelle. I just finished her book. & I honestly think Michelle’s decision to write her own book was the best decision she could have made. She was there first & spent the most time in the house. She was older than the other 2 & even had a child. Her experience was different than Amanda & Gina’s. Likewise, Amanda & Gina also had separate experiences & should have wrote their own books. Amanda delivered her first child inside the home & had to raise her daughter while being held captive. I think because of that reason alone, she should have written her book solo. I haven’t read Amanda & Ginas book yet, but I feel like maybe them teaming together may have made it easier on Gina, so she can get her story out without having to write a book all on her own. I think attacking or judging any of these 3 girls is pointless. They were all tortured. & they’ve spent too much time suffering. We should be proud of all of them. Amanda’s a hero for taking a chance & breaking free. Ginas a hero for keeping Michelle strong, when she was hurting, sick, & almost dead. & Michelle is a hero for delivering Amanda’s baby & keeping her alive. 🙏🏻

He even described one of his little brothers as 'mothers little hitler'. - That brother later admitted that he felt if he did not join in with his mothers abuse then he would possibly be next..Perhaps these girls hold more secrets than they are prepared to expose.

Michelle chose the wrong strategy causing that pos the become more violence and her to get hurt more. She had mental and cognitive issues before and still does, he took advantage of that. She lived 2 streets away from Castro. He probably observed her for some time before he took her from a store near his home. Amanda was more grounded (bc and for her daughter) according to the FBI/police, medical staff who interviewed them in the hospital. She is very intelligent, was in gifted school programs. Also read the police and FBi reports and listen to the first responders testimony, it corrborates with Amanda and Gina's story.

Maybe you should read their book. Its very well written and has a lot of backround info about Castro and their families search for them with police and FBI. They also had access to the FBI interrogations and police reports. Dr Phil used michelle's vulnerability to get the scoop but did not interview anyone else or talk to FBI and police. She had a major ptsd and fell down hard after the tv interviews stopped. She did have mental and cognitive issues before her abduction. Look at video before abduction. Dont believe everything you hear on tv talk shows.

Amanda seems stronger probably for her daughter but the three are all amazing and so brave! I'm so glad you were all found alive and are now safe!

What I want to know is, why does it seem like Amanda and Gina are separate cases from Michelle? Like in all the interviews, it's either Amanda and Gina together, or it's Michelle by herself. Why is this? Do they not get along? I'm not trying to sound judgmental; they're free to handle this situation however they want to. I'm just very curious about it.

from the minute michelle disappeared she was a non-issue. there were no press conferences and no search parties. because of her lifestyle and upbringing no red flags went up. when the other two went missing there was all of that, it was big news. when they were found, they were treated seperate, almost like the same rules applied. their story was almost more tragic and they recieved a more celebratory homecoming. the press was only interested in the details michelle could reveal rather than admit how she had been wronged by them, and law enforcement.

Michelle is doing her own thing spreading awareness and gina and amanda decided to team up and do something of their own. Amanda and ginas family were close to ariel so i assume their families knew eachother also. And michelle had mentioned in an interview that she would like to have a reunion but it would be difficult emotionally because it would bring back alot of memories for her. The only memories that they had together were tragic memories

I think and feel that Michelle wants to be out there...where Amanda and Gina want to be private. I believe that could be what pulled them away from Michelle. It doesn't matter what you go through in life, people change...Amanda and Gina ddon't want to be in the spot light, that is the difference, and so they went their own separate ways. Michelle is on every show possible talking about her life, Amanda and Gina are not, and from what I remember Amanda saying when they were rescued, they wanted their privacy. So there you go, just because people go through something so traumatic together doesn't mean that when they are out of that situation they will continue to be best friends. Its a part of growing and learning who they are now that they don't have to be with their captor. Besides Michelle wrote a book last year, came out with a movie last night, she is doing what she wants, maybe Amanda and Gina don't want to be in the lime light anymore. They asked that no one takes pictures or video in this video above, they are probably tired of the constant reminder of the life they lived in that house. Don't forget there is a child too, Amanda is doing everything to protect her. I don't see anything wrong with Michelle not being here, its life and the way things have fallen into place...all 3 of them deserve to be happy. Just my 2 cents...

I was wondering about that too, and what you said makes perfect sense and is probably spot-on. That is probably so true, because, while all three girls appreciate the love and support they have felt from the public in Cleveland and around the world...at the end of the day, they have their families to look ton for support and comfort. However, Michelle is probably much more open to the public because they are kind of like the surrogate family she never had. Plus, she was allegedly treated the worst and relatively unloved her whole life..who would blame or deny her for soaking up every ounce of love and support she can.

kentuckycountrygirl Lastly, I just wanted to say that Amanda and Gina had similar life experiences both before and during their kidnapping: both still teens, both from families still looking for them, both having relatively normal lives, before being held captive. Castro seemed to accentuate these differences in the home as well (treating Michelle the worst, causing miscarriages and keeping her from her son while allowing Amanda to keep her baby, the intense verbal abuse he would give Michelle, the privileges he would give Amanda and her child, etc.) All of these things combined thst we both have mentioned, I think, like you said, just caused a distance once they were all free.

kentuckycountrygirl Yes, and that was an insightful remark about being "open to the public". She has denounced her family. If you read Michelle's book, her family shared a rental house with other people where one adult male repeatedly raped her. She ran away and after the family dragged her back into the house, he resumed raping her. A/C was not much worse than the situation she came from. Her mother declared Michelle mentally disabled, not only to get a S.S. check every month but to have a free babysitter for young children that lived in the house, feed, bathe and get ready for their school. You should read her book, it's raw but amazing what kind of life she had in her formative years. I don't know why authorities didn't investigate why Michelle missed so many days of school.

What makes, in my humble opinion, Michelle's story more empowering is that she was the first to be victimized. Not just in the abduction but what she endured from childhood. And that she did experience the worst out of the other two women. She was Castro's target a year or two before Amanda and Gina. Also, it was as though she was forgotten and non existent. But, each of the women's story is heartbreaking and inspiring. All experienced different abuse under the same roof which is so amazing in a way. God truly made a way of escape for all. Let us learn and be careful in our decisions and seek His guidance.

It's sad when people say they don't understand how these girls exclude Michelle. Michelle said herself in a television interview that she decided she didn't want no type of contact with them and wanted to move on. These 2 even invited her to help write their book and she declined. They don't exclude Michelle. As far as people saying how Michelle had it worse, just be glad they are alive and free. It is not a contest. All 3 had it bad and I'm sure they will always feel love for one another. If it wasn't for Amanda, they wouldn't be free to write books ect. She even has a daughter because of the time in captivity. She can't just go to therapy and do tv shows but has a longer road ahead because of her daughter. That girl deserves every bit of the sympathy she got. I'm happy for all 3 and am sympathetic for all 3 but Amanda and Gina didn't make it all about them as people say. They tried to reach out. It also wasn't Amanda and Gina's fault that nobody looked for Michelle. Michelle is an admirable and strong woman but it is not these girls fault. Cleveland police did say her mom filed a missing persons report but she was not a minor so it didn't get looked into more which it should have. Prayers these women have found comfort and happiness🙏

for the record, these women became women have endured so much more than any of us can admit to without being sarcastic. I have much love for them in their struggle to adjust. Makes me think of a coma patient, waking up to find a new world in place of the one that was stolen away from them. But this coma was lived in a purgatory that had only the glimmer of hope which manifested ten years later. What resonates in my mind is when Charles Ramsey stated he handed Berry the smart phone that she did not recognize. Anyway... said my peace and I wish more peace to Amanda, Gina and Michelle. May their lives flourish with promise and the peace that they deserve. All three give hope to a world that desperately needs it.

Yeah, I tried to stick up for all of them in the beginning because they all needed to approach healing in their own way. But as more time has passed and other information emerged, I do think there is more to this alienation than we know. At least the girls have been respectful about it in public, though. I have my own theories. I don't think it's coming from Michelle's end. Michelle was very open to reconnecting with the other 2 once they went through healing. It's Amanda who has no interest in that. www.google.com/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/entertainment/cleveland-survivor-michelle-knight-hopes-211652852.html As for Gina? I eventually came across somebody saying it was Gina's therapist who recommended that all contact with Michelle be cut. So Michelle's separation from her sounds like it's based on circumstance. I get the feeling it's more personal with Amanda.

Ariel Castro did quite the job pitting these girls against each other. I've read both books. I notice some differences. According to Michelle, she was forced at gun point to deliver 'a healthy baby' and that if that didn't happen he would shoot her. In Amanda and Gina's book that wasn't mentioned. Also, in Michelles book and movie, she talks of trying to take his abuse for Gina and also of holding her hand while Gina was being raped by Castro. Gina does not mention this in the book. Michelle says she and Gina were like sisters and very close. Gina does not say this. I have no idea which is true, but I can't imagine them NOT being close having spent all that time together. They were forced to share the smaller room and had fewer 'luxuries' than Amanda. It seems that he favored Amanda over the other two...probably bc of the daughter they shared, so it seems odd to me that Amanda and Gina are the ones who have paired off and bonded. Possibly because their families knew each other and were looking for them? I don't know. I would think it would be hard for Michelle NOT to resent Amanda bc she was treated better and she was allowed to have a child when Michelle's pregnancies were all terminated. And on that note, neither Amanda or Gina mention Michelle's pregnancies. I feel like somebody either is stretching the truth or someone is denying it. Either way, it's sad that they don't seem to communicate anymore, but to each their own. One thing that was a big odd to me in Amanda and Gina's book.....Amanda says that she was actually jealous when he would take one of the other girls 'downstairs' to clean and resented them getting to spend more time with him. That creeped me out. But I didn't live it, so I don't know how I could act.

Something I'll never forget on the 911 call, was how she didn't mention the other girls, especially when the operated seemed lax about sending a car out right away. Mentioning all three would have put some fire under his ass and then again, when the police got there he had tto ask her if anyone else was in the house and she said" yes, there's two more girls" instead of saying they're names, it just seemed off!

Well idk how to say it if one girl got something obviously the other girls would want it too.Such as Michelle losing all of her children BC of the dude but he let Amanda keep Jocelyn which he threatened to kill Michelle if the baby died. And he put a gun to her head.I don't know why everyone is saying "Why are you leaving Michelle out" Michelle isn't being left out.She has been on alot of shows talking about her story. And Michelle has been more open about it unlike Gina and Amanda who wants to keep their life private as Amanda has Jocelyn to raise.Michelle doesn't have her family but she now has her husband.Ppl who go through this trauma have different ways of healing Gina and Amanda more privacy and Michelle is more public. No matter what all the girls have been through alot so nobody can judge them and I wish them all the best in the future.

Through out the ordeal, Michelle was with Gina the whole time. she comfort her and I don't even know why, they don't include Michelle in this interview. She was the strongest person of all 3 girls.

Chhavy Sisowath The girls were interviewed because of their book. Michelle declined to contribute to the book. She was offered. I wouldn't want mention of Michelle without Michelle actually writing her experiences. Amanda and Gina had their hands filled with their own stories. Also, watch the interview of Michelle alone. the one where she's sitting in a white chair and mentions her medical condition at the time of her release. She's okay, she's coping in her own way.

I guess just because you were held captive along with someone else against your will doesn't mean that you are obligated to be their bussom buddy or even remain in contact for life. You have a right to choose who you want in your personal life just as any other free & liberated person. I'm sure they wish each other the best.

People acting like there’s some sort of friendship after captivity manual. They all did what they felt they needed to and were comfortable with at that time. I still feel deeply for lily rose (Michelle), she was abandoned again but seemed to understand why. I’m sure many things that happened in that house they will all take to the grave. We don’t know why their relationship was like that, they do, so try not judge

Who would believe that Amanda Berry's life, the day before her 17th birthday, that her life would change so drastically forever. That that one last day she got a kiss from her Mom would not only be the last kiss but that would be the last time she'd see her Mom alive. We as humans take so much for granted. Teens can get tired of the kiss. What happened to Amanda should be a wake-up call to all of us. We never know about life. Any of our lives can change like a blink of an eye. If u haven't hugged, kissed or told your parents, your children I love u. I wouldn't wait another second. Bcuz u never know. While Georgina's dilemma was also so awful as her freedom. I guess sadly her virginity, right to live as a human, being with her parents etc. We're also taken from her. And for 9 yrs. Horrible. But Atleast she got both her parents back. God bless.

I've watched interviews with Michelle Knight and now this video with Amanda and Gina. Comments below talk about why the three girls never appear together. It is fairly obvious that Amanda and Gina are similar young women whereas Michelle seems to have a very different personality and demeanour about her. Michelle seems almost shell shocked in her interviews and not quite in the moment, even a bit strange.

I think they have nobody to thank if not themselves ( in particular Amanda ) , I mean 10 fucking years . Three girls , the same school bus driver for the three of them and the police never thought there was a connection … really ? And the neigboirs never noticing anything ? Shows what a sad society there is in some areas in the states .

well since we all know that Michelle was the only one they didn't look for coz of the way she was brought up, her life etc, we know that if this happens to anyone we know, we shouldn't throw them away because of how they are.
