I feel like the attitude of the interviewer is like 'so you've married one of the most eligible bachelors in the world, why don't you just bask in that?!' and Amal's just like 'yeah whatever, George Shmeorge, I've got countries to save and wars to win'. I'm so glad that Amal is in the limelight because she's a great example for future generations to look up to, particularly when there's so much focus on who she's married to. She doesn't seem to actually acknowledge that her high profile relationship is the reason she has the level of attention she does ('all the attention, for whatever reason', 'oh, I think you know the reason!), she only cares about what she's passionate about and how she can use her platform for the betterment of humanity. Bless her soul!

sidontae wilson it's not uncommon for well paid women or well paid lawyers to buy designer goods or live a lifestyle that's better than the average person. Amal doesn't appear lazy or entitled. She doesn't seem like she wants to quit working and live off of her husbands money. She seems determined and ambitious. What she wears is irrelevant. She may be more conscious of what she wears now but she will still give her work 100%. Wearing Louboutins doesn't make you incompetent. And she may only be wearing designer when the cameras are there. You don't see pictures of her in the office. Well paid men and well paid male lawyers wear expensive suits too. It's not the end of the world. And I doubt she wants that to overshadow her work. It's up to you, what you pay attention to. She's clearly a lot more than an airhead who just dresses up. She's ambitious, she has purpose, she works hard and if she looks good while doing it, it's absolutely fine!

Oh PLEASE! Keep this nonsense for those who know nothing about Amal's background, hard work, the legal world, using the brain, etc! Maybe it's time YOU started using your brain? She's been/is a junior barrister; if she had really worked hard, led cases, and won, and had a fantastic legal background, she would have been promoted by now. And 'HER' case? Seriously?? She only clerked on some 'important' cases throughout her (allegedly) 15 years (!!!) of practicing. But thanks to her famous husband, she got to be assigned on a few rather high profile cases only because the law firm where she "worked" can use the publicity. If 'working' meant spending time on makeup, parading in film festivals, restaurants, or vacation spots, then yes; she's working really really hard.

I respect her beyond belief. I'm also an attorney, and I also work in human rights and immigration. It takes a very unique, dedicated person to get to where she is, and she does it with aplomb and style. I genuinely love George Clooney, but he married up.

@Jake Dean not entirely true. It does indeed open certain doors quicker, but there are countless cases of successful entrepreneurs and artists etc who started with 'nothing'. For example Oprah Winfrey, Missy Elliot etc. As long as you have the passion and are willing to put in the effort, almost nothing is out of your league. Corny, I know but there is a truth to it.

Amal gives “you go girl” a whole new meaning. She is so inspiring, and so humble. It really allows GC to take a back seat which is a spot it seems he is comfortable taking and letting her take the wheel

Their are plenty of human rights cases she could take on board in this country and of its people who need it most. Clooney says when they take a trip they have to fill a van to pack all of Amal's suitcases. However, I applaud her take on her new-fame status - hoping to use it to create a platform to further publicize the injustices around the world. I feel like Americans - although we see on the news and social media sites just a small % of what really goes on in the world - we still tend to be pretty ignorant in terms of what we can DO to fight against these oppressions

I was so excited to hear her voice. This is the first interview of her I’ve seen.

I had the pleasure to meet Amal and George and can honestly say that they are both the finest people on this world. It is breathtaking to read all the negative criticism from random people proving their ignorance with their words. We are all human and we are all equal. I admire Amal's intelligence, finesse, and intuition because of her roots. Those roots which are just as rich as each and every one of us and actually has the will power and determination to put matters into her own hands and do something positive for society.

She's elegant and she's a darling but none of these compares to her altruism.

Besides being brilliant and beautiful, she seems quite humble. I'm also happy (from a beauty and image perspective) that she has had her hair properly thinned out and trimmed. She looks much more professional and polished.

Amal is such an inspiration for me. But I don’t see a reason for people to keep saying she’s way out of her husband’s league. Lol. Obviously she’s a great person. She mainly gets the limelight for being his wife (it’s obvious and okay that you become famous after you marry a famous person, that’s literally how it’s supposed to work). But she wouldn’t be this much loved by everyone if she wasn’t the person she was. She surely is with George because she sees something in him. He’s also the father of their children. Their marriage is a private thing as well. So it’s just disrespectful to degrade him like that and assume why that they’re together for political reasons. The work that George’s doing mightn’t be identical to Amal’s duties. But they’re still two individual people who would continue building their careers even without one another.
