Just as a heads up, when your buddy said that One Piece "gets good" after 300 episodes, they most likely meant to say that it "gets even greater". One Piece is the sort of series that starts off with a great story and then proceeds to make a mockery of itself by continuously surpassing itself with its characters and world building.

Yeah I find it really hard to sell the show to my friends. Like yeah Wano is potentially the best arc to date, but like it doesn't mean the stuff before is trash. And East Blue, while good especially in hindsight, is not the best the show has to offer by a longshot until you get to Arlong.

You don't even know how much it means to hear someone say "I don't know what this is about or these characters, but just watching it, it makes me so happy" 😭😭 if only i could tell you the true weigh of these words... Luffy is truly something different, bring smiles everywhere he goes. Anyway, let's stop being cheesy. What I wanted to say is that the deeper into One piece you go, it gets better and better, and you understand so much and much more and how everything is connected and relevant and also how big of a troll and genius the author of the series is. 🔥 And that comes from both manga reader and anime watcher. I'm caught up with manga and bro, the author literally just sucker punched the whole fandom into a gut, all the way since chapter 1. The amount of hype and energy and just everything is off the charts.

its a godlike story, and the manga got 2nd best selling below superman at the 1st and batman at the 3rd, at first when i started to watch one piece i was going to thought that this anime prob gonna be long ass boring anime but i take it all back. it's wonderful, especially the current chapter of OP that shaken the whole anime/manga community. theres alot of really interesting videos on youtube about one piece and what is is and why its good, i recommend reacting to "The Appeal of One Piece: Where to Start" by supereyepatchwolf. you could also watch some fights scenes unless you dont want spoilers

The show has incredible highs and you truly fall in love with the characters. The pacing does drag in many fights but overall absolutely amazing

One Piece is definitely my favorite anime of all time. I understand people might say its too many episodes but its SO worth it! My husband introduced me to it when we first got together and every single episode until I caught up with it was worth the binge. After you see all the episodes and watch how far the straw hats have come? It hits different when you see the openings. Trust me you guys, yes its over 1000 episodes but you can do it at your own pace. That fact that there's that many episodes should tell you something. If you truly are into it you will be hooked!

I have watched dozens of reactors start on One Piece, and they always start off concerned by the length of the show. Every single one of them change that concern to what are they going to do when they catch up and have to wait for each new episode instead of binging it.

And arguably One Piece's ending will be more iconic because it's an end game that Oda has been intentionally working towards all this time. There wont be another series ending that will be as monumental for some years to come.

@@coolbreezycc I also got a life outside of it yet it still took me only 4 months to watch all of it. Even my godfather who works full time and has a family caught up in less then a year. It's doable if you watch 2-3 episodes every day (thats less then 2 hours you should have that much time to do what you want).

God this anime was so life changing and emotional as a Shounen, defo the best from the 'Big 3' imo. I would like to say that if you cannot make time to create reaction videos, its fine, we understand it is a lot of episodes and editing takes hella time. But I would recommend you to watch/read this life changing story for your own enjoyment, after all, the goal of One Piece is to bring smiles to faces far and wide. 😁😁😁

Yupp I'm ready to watch this for an hour, welcome to the great world of One Piece (even tho it's just OPs). OP 14 mannn, it's still my fav to this day. It portrait Luffy's journey with the crew so perfectly. No I'm not crying, you are. OP 17 is for celebrating the 15th anniversary so yeah it's just for the opening, but they drip for sure I'm glad you like OP 24 even when you don't know what happened in that arc specifically. It's gonna one of the most nostalgic opening when one piece is over. It's so wholesome. 54:15 For the episode? Yup for the entire episodes. Once you reach the Wano arc, your eyes will be blessed by the animation

Chapter 1044-1048 was peak, felt like how the start of marineford felt when i first read it

Those guys weren't giants. Those guy are around 8-9 meters tall. The SMALLEST giant is minimum 12 meters while the average giant is around 20 meters.

I think what I loved most from your reaction, and it really encompasses your thoughts on the openings and series as you know it as a whole -- at the end of opening 13, when Luffy sees Ace and smiles, its so infectious that you end up getting the biggest grin on your face. One Piece is definitely a wholesome adventure wrapped in a wealth of character development, depth, god tier world building, and really, really raw emotion.

Fun fact: The 2nd "We are" opening is sung by the Strawhat crew voice actors.

11:48 when I heard that opening (the song, I hadn’t seen the visuals) it made me feel very happy and single-handedly convinced me to watch One Piece. And here I am, 20 months later!

Opening 7 was the Japanese voice actors singing the opening. Also Luffy is happy most of the time but he hates any bullies and gets very scary when angered. Especially if it's someone he knows even if he just met them.

Speaking for myself: Naruto was the first anime I watched and it overtook my world at that point in time... however I found myself growing out of it pretty fast. One Piece has stayed with me for well over a decade and is still a series I look forward to reading what comes next and a series I can always go back to and look back on fondly. It just hits different man. Oda has just done such an amazing job crafting the world of One Piece and filled it with such an amazing and vast cast of characters. Every island we visit we get introduced to dozens of fleshed out characters with their own backstory, alliances and motivations that are personal to them. Oda might not think of everything ahead of time but he's a master at making it seem like he does. His story feels like it holds together naturally. Long term and short term storytelling are both things he excels at. In my opinion, you don't get that with Naruto. The core story might be pretty good but when you take a closer look it just seems so shallow. Like a lot of smaller stories awkwardly glued together without much thought or care. The characters are one note, their motivations simple and their allegiances even more so. In other words: 15 years later and One Piece is still an unfinished master piece and Naruto isn't even close in my mind. Just thinking out loud.

Crazy Rainbow Star is underrated! The best musically. Love that you loved it!

33:22 Trust me i know what you mean by that “specific part”. I already got spoiled about that “specific part” since that year it came out, since i was a kid. And i just started one piece years ago. When i got to that part man? It’s still hits so hard i was crying like a child. That’s how good the show is.

Read the One Piece Manga. It is so much less time consuming. It took me like two weeks to get through around 200-300 episodes, but I was able to completely finish the manga in that same amount of time, and have a life outside of One Piece.

It’s true reading is faster. It takes me two days to read 800 page book on a weekend off so a 1000+ chapter manga might be about a week or two like you said.

Did you know that the one where they remade the first opening was actually them singing he said it couldn’t be, but it is true😂 they are really good at singing, though One thing about one piece as you have to watch the whole show because things right at the beginning will come back very far into the show like back stories they’ll give you a backstory, but it won’t be the full backstory there will be more that comes later and shows you how that actually happened. I think it’s really cool how they do that and make it so even the smallest details can come back in the future and make such a huge difference is the world.

There's a saying in the One Piece community, those who don't like One Piece have never read/watched One Piece.

It pains me when people say it gets good after 300, those people never understood the story to begin with and should've dropped it way before they even hit 100.

@@Lor_D_Richafa I had my problems with Skypiea but not enough to act like it was unbearable or skippable, I didn't like Thriller Bark on my first watch but rewatching it's one of my favorite arcs, imo Thriller Bark has the best rewatch value of all arcs in One Piece, so many hints and foreshadowing and the comedy hits different when you've been in the depressing timeskip era where everything is so serious.

@@dontreadmyprofilepicture8817 Exactly what i mean, Thriller Bark is great as it sets up SO MUCH for the future arcs like Marineford and especially Whole Cake Island. Skyepia may turn out to be the most important arc in the entire show, because according to Ohara's theory, Skypiea is part of the Ancient Kingdom

Currently in EP 602, I can say that the anime got good in Water 7 saga, and Marineford made it even more GOATED.

My one piece journey started in 2020 when the pandemic hit and I had a lot of time on my hands halfway through the anime I switched to the manga due to pacing issues, it took me about a year to catch up and it was the best decision of my life! I feel that if you go at your own pace you can really enjoy the story oda has built after all it's 20 years worth of content.

I normally wait til the end to like and comment but love how attentive you are to both the music and visuals, you catch SO much more than most of the other blind reactions I've seen to the openings. "I just want to be on their ship" That's the best but with One Piece openings they alone sell you on wanting to go on grand adventures with the crew and want to be their friend. If you do watch it skipping the opening recaps and next time bits helps cut down on time so 7 episodes a day is only like 2 hours a day. The manga is much quicker obviously, but the voice acting in Japanese (I'm normally a dub watcher) is the best I've ever heard , dub isn't bad but it's pretty far behind the current arcs, it's like 200-300 episodes behind. And the soundtrack for the show is also some of my favorite of any anime.

OP 100% worth watching its LITERALLY peak fiction so incredible. You can't really get a grasp of an arc through the openings

I used to watch 30-32 episodes of one piece per day after my exams and in 3 and half months I caught up with the anime. Also before watching one piece , I caught up with Detective Conan which many people don't know much about , such a hidden gem

Detective Conan is so good. Such a fun series to watch too, it’s my top mystery show alongside Scooby-Doo and Murder, She Wrote. (Weird choices for a top three but there you go! 😂)

You're right. One Piece has a lot of feelings/emotions and you'll feel it too when you watch or read it. This is the manga/anime that has that ability to really connect with the reader/viewers. A lot of growth for the charcters together with the audience. I hope you read or watch it.

Not gonna lie there were bangers in there, op 24 really hit

I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces when he saw Boa and he called her Robin.

"Every frame I see, they're like super happy" IKR. I tear up with this comment

If you gonna watch One Piece I would recommend starting with watching Episodes 1-24! If you enjoy it watch 25-52, If it is still catching your attention skip the filler then watch 61-130. If you still onboard at that time keep on going on ahead to episode 236, Still on, keep going to 315 or 325, and If you make it there keep on to 405. If you have watch around 400 episodes whats wrong with another 200 episodes. Then of course you have seen 600 whats wrong with watching 400 more. Then you have watched 1000 episodes, then you should really catch up to the rest!
