Andy Tidy continues his canoe journey down the River Bure in Norfolk, exploring the Aylsham Navigation from Burgh to Buxton. During this journey he examines the history of its construction and the flood which destroyed it in the summer of 1912

    Thanks for this Andy I hope you are well, I really enjoyed your Video and the trip down memory lane. Oxnead Bridge and the mill, were one of my favourite fishing haunts. I did go back a few years ago to take a look and I think alas most of where I used to fish is now private.

    Hi David - great to hear from you! The river surrounds have changed quite a lot (like everything else really).I really enjoyed taking a canoe down the river - and boring my son with memories of my mis spent youth!

    Another great video Andy. Keep it up! Any idea on the depth of the river?

    It varies a lot. When it was a navigation it had a min depth of about 3ft but the upper reaches are quite shallow in places. Most of the time is was probably three or four feel deep with shoals where gravel has been washed up.
