    Thanks for the "no fluff" real review, you helped make up my mind. The small Dewalt leaf blower I bought for my wife has the same 5ah batteries and I we have two of them, so the "tool only" price at the big box store is looking pretty good.

    I just purchased this one I have it’s bigger brother the 7.25 brushless model but I wanted one a little lighter for overhead cuts. I have a ryobi 6.5 but it’s under powered and it was doing everything I needed it to do when on a ladder so with the current deal I picked up a cordless grinder under 200.00 . No batteries but I have several 5.0 ah batteries, 4.0 and a 3.0ah too

    I just bought this saw over the 570. DeWalt claims the 570 is only 1/2 pound heavier, but it felt a lot heavier in hand. Not sure if that's due to balance or what. The 570 is still a good buy for $50 more, but I prefer the left blade, smaller size and easier handling of this 391. Plus it's made in Mexico instead of China, which I greatly prefer these days. Just wish it was brushless and had a light.

    Hi Brad, I have this DeWalt 6 1/2" cordless circular saw. I also have the Milwaukee 6 1/2. I don't know why but i like the feel of the dewalt way better then the milwaukee. Even if it's a bushed motor. I use the new dewalt 8.0ah battery and it works great. I do like the rafter hook feature on the milwaukee. That does come handy. Don't know why dewalt didn't add that feature. I do hope dewalt and milwaukee will make a left blade circular saw 7 - 1/4 top handle. I really don't care for the rear handle style on both brands. Too bulky plus it's not really a worm drive. Thanks for the video

    This has been my favorite saw I’ve ever owned. So light and ergonomic. Threw a 6.0 on there and it rips just as good as I need through 2x. Eventually I’m looking towards the 578 for ripping treated and cutting stairs but that little 391 is great

    its a great saw! you could buy a rafter hook that has screw holes on the plate, like the one for Max air guns, and drill some holes in the saw. perhaps on the metal guard or take it apart and put some washers and nuts inside the body and bolt it that way. just some thoughts.

    Hammer and Home yeah I was looking into that and probably will buy the little belt clip that comes on the atomic 4” one when I can find it and throw it on there but for now I actually found that the auxiliary handle of our 391 fits right into the end bracket of my toughbilt c700 sawhorses perfectly! Although I am mostly DeWalt, I went with the Makita version of this because it’s brushless. I like it except the dust port sends sawdust perfectly straight into my tool belt. With the extract port fitted: the dust goes straight back.... and then into my tool belt. I note from your video that the dust just goes straight down on this one. Oh well, I bet DeWalt put a dust port in a bad place when they upgrade this one to brushless🙄

    I have this same saw! Like it a lot, great saw! It is a little weird being used to saws with the motor on the opposite side, and the line sight is a little bit confusing; but no real complaints. I use mine with just a 2ah battery to keep things light and compact, but it still seems to have plenty of power. Great review!

    I can vouch for this saw.. I picked one up last month and within 5 minutes a knew it was decent.. I was going between this and the brushless but I already own 2 brushless circular saws from makita and trend in the uk and wanted to see if there really is much of a noticable diff.. This geniunely cuts faster than both of them.. Its the lightest too.. The dust port is absolutely shocking bad though.. I noticed this revision is marked as 11.. it has a higher rpm than the older models.. Is there a noticable difference ? no idea, i dont own the older gen models.. But id assume considering the longetivety of this saw, its minor..

    Hi there. What size and (more importantly) shape is the arbour / hole for the saw blades? The big brother of this (so-called "worm drive" style) uses diamond arbours for the blades which are impossible to find here in NZ. Many thanks... Clark

  • @hammerandhome

    @hammerandhome

    4 жыл бұрын

    its a 5/8 arbour, but most blades here in canada have the ability to be punched out so you can fit a larger arbour or diamond arbour. im surprised thats not common in NZ

    now that's a saw I need, I hear it's a big improvement on mine. I really like the weight of the 391 and the size, so i'm all for getting the brushless version. I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list of tools to get this year. i'm not sure if there are any cons if just comparing the two to each other. if you were to compare it to a larger saw then I would say the con would be blade size and not enough power. but thats comparing it to the new Flexvolt or the Flexvolt rear handle saw.

    I have the DCS391B that's practically new and mine has no power. It literally takes about 30 seconds to get 12 inches into a sheet of OSB, and then the battery is about gone. It is constantly bogging on 2x4's, plywood, etc. (although I haven't tried it much). Frustrating at best. I have 4 batteries, all 1.5AH that came with my two new drills. So, these are new batteries. I don't think it's the batteries. Did I get a dud? Does the saw really not work with the 1.5AH batteries? Will a 4 or 5AH battery make me like this saw?

  • @dsmtsi

    @dsmtsi

    These are junk. Putting the motor on right side means the majority of the shoe isn’t on the workpiece which makes it really difficult to make square cuts. Major design flaw. Probably good if you’re left handed.
