I’m a single dad who lost his only son at age 21 last year. One of the few things that bring me joy and peace is watching your lovely, and growing family. You tell your living story so well, with grace, humor, gentleness and beauty. I eagerly look forward to every two weeks to catch up with y’all. Thank you. 🙏

Two words... sleeping bags. Our triple high bunks are a nightmare to make. They're a little easier if I slide them out away from the wall. But that's not an option for you. They do make a sleep system for kids beds that have both sheets and the comforter sewn together. It still resembles a fitted sheet on the bottom and has a zipper on the sides for easy entry.

Omgosh watching you build this bunk bed was a huge emotional moment for me. I remember my dad building a three layer one for my three brothers when I was around 7-8 years old. I didn’t like being around him but he was so talented. He passed away in 2008 and I never missed him not ever but watching u build I found myself missing him for the first time. I never stopped loving him but he was scary and I stayed out of his way. You are a talented builder but more importantly you are a delightful dad. Don’t ever change. ✌️

About that canopy - the next time you're expecting wind, you might try tying a heavy weight to the center arms and staking the corners to the ground. Also, lowering the canopy to the lowest setting makes a big help.

Spencer, I love the ideas you come up with, the latest is the ladder for the bunk-beds. The added side bit need the end rounded off for safety. I hope it works out ok. I see the oxygen pump for the pond is still working, another idea you had. Love to you all from Mike. ❤

I agree. That’s the first thing I thought of was rounding the corners for safety.

When you get your next canopy also get 4 pool noodles from the dollar store, put them between the canopy and the frame kitty corner on each corner. Keeps the water from pooling on top. Also frame weights on each corner are worth their weight in gold! Will extend the life of your canopy!

My sympathies for the humidity. Living in the Phoenix area, we tolerate (I use the word loosely) temps 110 +. But humidity and heat will knock me down immediately. Praying for relief for everyone.

I am so impressed with those bunk beds and I agree with one comment about the hand grip at the top . I bet you a lot of parents are being inspired by Spencer’s design . We are desperate to see the sun here in the uk . It’s done nothing but rain since last august except for a few scorching days a few weeks ago where it hit the 90s then afterwards the rain hasn’t stopped . The farmers have been hit really badly and have lost a lot of freshly drilled wheat fields and other crops . I just want to get out and enjoy my garden . But ,… you know what’ll happen, the minute we do get some sun people will complain and it will be nothing compared to what you are suffering. ❤

Spencer, get a portable AC unit and wheel it around behind you. You must drink a heck of a lot of water to rehydrate yourself! 💦

Kenzie is confusing the dentist with the gynaecologist 😂 that’s the only place I have ever seen designs in the ceiling to distract you from what’s happening 😂

Alright, I’ve been watching since the beginning and I really haven’t commented on stuff a lot, so take that for what it’s worth. That bunkbed is the best thing you’ve ever dreamed up! Seriously you’re pretty clever but that turned out almost pre-manufactured, like the definition of professional!!
