Note that according to news reports, the goats are doing this so they can lick the salts exuded from the rocks of the dam. They eat a vegetarian diet, and often lick minerals and rocks for the salts essential to maintaining health. When I was young, we raised a herd of goats for the milk and occasional summer barbeque, and we maintained a large, one foot cube salt block on top of a two foot post in the farmyard next to the goat shed for the goats to lick. We kids of course had to try it from time to time.

I am FASCINATED each time I see a video documenting these Amazing Animals. I clearly see no Fear or Hesitation in their agile, flowing movement. I see their Confident Determination to get to their salt/mineral patch so they can stay alive. I want to be like an Ibex and get my Salt Lick! An ANALOGY of LIFE in 2 minutes 18 seconds!!!

Matters not if there is some exaggeration due to angle and focal length of camera. Watching the goat stroll across the middle of the face of the damn, even if it is only 30 feet above base, triggered my fear of heights, just watching.

ASide45 , humans climb mountains for sports and pleasure. Dam walls are not built for humans to just walk up. Have some sense, whoever you are.
