Lyrics:
Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune
The music's played by the, the mad man
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever young
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later, they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth's like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We let them come true
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever
Forever young, I wanna be forever young
Do you really want to live forever? (Forever)

Man I’m sorry for your loss.
February 15, 2024 As a 50 year old man, this kinda brings a tear to my eye. Because I squandered so many opportunites. Along with dumb decisions in the name of fun. The saddest part is friends you didn't know you would see for the last time. And places. people, events, and experiences you had. Along with the pure enjoyment of just life in general. As I listen to this song and write this, I'm thinking of the good times and bad. Knowing I will never ever experience those again. Knowing the last time I truly enjoyed life was in the 90s, even tho this timeless song is from the 80s. So as I'm completely tear up, I hope you enjoy the short time we have left.

When I hear 80s songs like this one, I have flashbacks to when I was a small child going places with my mother, listening to the radio in her blue Oldsmobile. I had no bills to pay, no deadlines to meet, no mouths to feed, etc. Many people can't say the same thing, but I had a wonderful childhood. Those memories will never fade.
The 80's was not just a decade, it was another universe.

Ahhhh the 1980s, the greatest decade in human history. Good times. Better days. Long live GEN X!!!! Greetings of hope and love from the Philippines.
Old man Father Time has taken so many of my loved ones away, leaving me old and along. That's just life.
The sad part isn’t growing up, it’s the innocence that we lose through out the years. That’s what I miss the most; the days of innocence and ignorantly enjoying life without a worry. Make the most of your life guys, learn to love, communicate and have meaningful relationships. That’s what it’s all about! Your so right
The vocals on this song are absolutely flawless. He doesn't even use vibrato. Just a clear, clean voice reaching higher and higher effortlessly. The whole album is a masterpiece, right up there with Upstairs at Eric's as one of the very best synth pop albums. I was maybe 12 when I first listened to it and it still gives me chills.
this brings a "tear" to my eye, I was 25 in 1980, still lived with my parents, had a hassle free job in the next town, It all seems so far away now doesn,t it? no "mobile phones", no "social media", no problems, everyone knew everyone in your village, no real crime to speak of, i,de come home from work, have my tea, and pop down the local for a game of pool and a pint with my friends without a care in the world! hear "wonderful tunes "like this all night, and everyone was happy! then walk home "safe in the knowledge that even though it was dark, no one would mug me for want of a five pound note! being 68 and retired now has it,s advantages, I know how "magical those days were like so many of us,we definatly saw the best of britain, so different to today! this is why this song brings a tear not of sadness but remembering all those wonderful years of carefreeness and joy, no,one can take those days away from us born in the 50,s I ,like so many of us will stay" forever young" if only in our dreams,XXX

I love it when people from your generation reminisce of the good times. My grandma for example likes to talk about how she went to college in the 60’s, worked 20 hours at a part time job, and made enough money from that for a HOUSE in 1960. Life was so easy back then it’s ludicrous. I’m the same age she was and I go to school, work 50 hours a week on top of that between two jobs to afford one bedroom of a house that I have to share with 3 other people, and forget saving money. You really were lucky to grow up when you did because everything is fucked now.

Hebreus 9:11-28

I was thinking the same thing. I wasn't sure if I was feeling better or worse by listening to it. It gave me a weird nostalgic feeling. I'm really sickened by getting old, but here it is. If you have been wanting to do something, do it before you die. It could be coming for you. Good luck my friends.
Leaving this comment here so every now and then, be it days ,months, years, I will be reminded to listen to this song again 🙏🫶

Verdade , cada dia tem um valor inestimável!
Forever Young 🙂

The real reason singers became world wide pop stars and his solo career blow up was because of the freemasonry hand signs he show`d again and again. The 2 popular hand signs M J used often were 666 and devil horns. In most cases the singer shows at least 4 hand signs and these are: 666 devil horns one eye tongue showing aka mocking. The talent may be there, but the hand signs must be there. Thats how a soul becomes a “rich and famous” singer or actor.

Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst Are you gonna drop the bomb or not? Let us die young or let us live forever We don't have the power but we never say never Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip The music's for the sad men Can you imagine when this race is won Turn our golden faces into the sun Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune The music's played by the, the mad man Forever young I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever young Some are like water, some are like the heat Some are a melody and some are the beat Sooner or later, they all will be gone Why don't they stay young? It's so hard to get old without a cause I don't want to perish like a fading horse Youth's like diamonds in the sun And diamonds are forever So many adventures couldn't happen today So many songs we forgot to play So many dreams swinging out of the blue We'll let 'em come true Forever young I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young I want to be forever young Do you really want to live forever? Forever, and ever Forever young I wanna be forever young Do you really want to live forever? (Forever)😊

We all grow up and think we have plenty of time to live life to the fullest little do we know how fast life can change and turn everything upside down I suffered a Massive stroke 3-15-2022 which left me basically without the use of the left side of my body when I was in intensive care I couldn’t talk;walk or even sit upright on my bed without falling over the simplest mental tasks were extremely difficult I’m now having to relearn most things I learned as a child someday I hope I can get back to where I was before my stroke I’m now a 56 year old child, I am lucky to have an amazing Wife who is my caregiver and she does most everything for me she is my angel without a doubt please make the most of your lives, and be good to those around you you never know what will happen to you or them!

1984 to 2024 it's been 40years. It's not a song but a masterpiece and a hit. It's one of the greatest song of the 80's. Who's listening to this masterpiece and this hit in 2024? This hit will be young forever....
I lost my mom back in 2022, a childhood friend( i knew since 1974), he was 46 and died back in 2016. another friend I knew for 35 years, he died back in 2021 at 57 years old. Im about to turn 57 this year. Love this song. Nowadays, it really makes me think about things more. Mainly life itself and death.
I think i have developed a supernatural power of recognising 80's music. I am 30 years old as of now (born 1993) & an ardent fan of 80's. This song was on air at the local supermarket I shopped in Sri Lanka & I instantly "shazam'ed" it. In love with this masterpiece forever ❤

What a very insightful comment and in many respects I'd go along with that sentiment, although I do believe there are many songs that last from many other eras, certainly 80s songs seem to summon up most nostalgia and incredible love ...and from todays young too! Look at how many are switching on Radio stations like Boom, Absolute, Smooth, Greatest Hits etc! And switching OFF Radio 1 and 2!
My closest friend died at 18 from cancer. She will be forever young. Miss you Jackie
Listened to this when I was 20 now 46 I can't wait to be young again in heaven. Just sad I left my love away. Now alone but with Christ. I made so many mistakes!!!!!!!!!! Tears only make an ocean. So salty so sad so angry so mad. Just forever young.
i'm only 16, i have my whole life ahead of me. but this song always makes me tear up, since i could only understand the lyrics. i don't wanna grow old. i want to be the freaky teenager i am now, with my friends. my wish was always being a 20 year old - free, i could do anything!! but now that i get closer to that age it just creeps me out. i don't wanna get old and witness my life go downhill. i cherish the time that i'm young. i'm so scared of the future.

You will always be that "freaky teenager" on the inside don't worry, your soul never grows older, just wiser. But yeah definitely cherish your teenage years, I know everyone says it but I swear when you hit 18 the years do start to fly by you quicker! Probably cause you're living with more freedom from your parents, an adult and doing what you want with life, so yeah enjoy! But dont stop enjoying life after your teenage years! Trust me there's lots more fun to be had just keep yourself surrounded with like-minded people and you should be alright :)

My mom used to sing this to me and when she would sing the "you have the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen" she would look at me and sing it with a smile. I just remember her looking at me like i was just the best thing in the world and feeling warm and dipped in love for my mommy. This song came on the radio the other day and i was in the car with my daughter. I told my daughter (4) how my mom would sing it to me and it was my special song and now I'm gonna sing it to her and it will be hers. Then I sang that part to her just like my mom did and it was so sweet, she got all teary and held my hand while I sang the rest of it to her.

Sorry for your loss.
Lyrics Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst Are you gonna drop the bomb or not? (Forever)
