Lyrics:
I've gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm older
This mountain, I must climb
Feels like a world upon my shoulders
Through the clouds, I see love shine
Keeps me warm as life grows colder
In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me (hey)
Gotta take a little time
Little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
Looks like love has finally found me
In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is (I wanna know)
I want you to show me (I wanna feel)
I wanna feel what love is (I know, I know, and I know)
I know you can show me
Let's talk about love
I wanna know what love is
(Love that you feel inside)
I want you to show me
(I'm feeling so much love)
I wanna feel what love is
(And you know, you just can't hide)
I know you can show me
Oh, I wanna know what love is
(Let's talk about love)
I know you can show me
(I wanna feel)
I wanna feel what love is
(And you know you just can't hide)
I know you can show me
I wanna feel what love is (oh, I wanna know)
I want you to show me

I’m 81, and the music today is nothing like the music of the 70s and 80s. I met my 2nd husband-who had just about every album from the 70s- in 1980, and we went to so many concerts together that I can’t even count them all. He died of cancer in 2007, but I keep him alive by listening to music like this from Foreigner.

My Mother would listen to this song by foreigner when I was growing up as a child. She passed away on me last year June 2023 . This is definitely one of her favorites. I play it from time to time and just takes me back to the 80s and 90s. The saddest thing of all, this was the last song she listened to the night before she passed, as if leaving a message.
Questo pezzo con la voce incredibile di Lou Gramm ,dovrebbe avere un miliardo di visualizzazioni
I was a teenager in the 80's living in a home with a lot of domestic violence at the time. Escaping to my room and listening to this song by Foreigner brought me so much comfort. Next month, I'll be celebrating my 25 year wedding anniversary with my sweet & loving husband; I found what love is!

Thank you for sharing. I am 46years old now and I have been single my whole life because 21years ago i walked out of the woman I loved so much, one who was the love of my life. I was 23 and she was just 20. I was scared, maybe I didnt know much about what love is. She went on in life and got married to another man. She had 4 children. Her marriage was an abusive one and led to separation some years later. A month ago a friend gave her my number and she did called me..after 21 years. All my life was in pain and regrets that I missed her..I told her i just found someone and I am getting married couple of months time in November this year. I was looking for her for 21years and waiting for a chance. It finally came but I'm getting married. When I answered her call, all the memories came back and everything in me felt that love I wanted..we cried both cried tears of pain and grief..she told me she was looking for me all her life n I was the same..we now met but it's too late..I am hurt inside because she was the love of my life...now it's late I'm getting married. Listening to this song means so much to me..it speaks of my life and what I'm going through..
This song never gets old, I'm 33 and I'm teaching my kids about good music. This is one of those I'm teaching my children about.

Most songs written, comes from real life experiences, why some songs show true emotions, it takes guts too write about yourself, especially as this one.❤
Finally. So happy for Lou and Mick but especially Lou, he's had a rough road to climb this mountain.
One of the best of all time. Music is my exit when sadness and loneliness strike. Most of all musicians inspired me to sing, it makes me feel free despite of negativity sorround us, this world of temptation you really want to know what love is, hope you find glimpse of hope/love. God bless us. ❤
As I get older, I realize that this song is underrated in the sphere of greatest songs of all time. It may not be the greatest, but it sure is great! The choir did so good!

Hey man, any song that properly portrays love and a beautiful story deserves its credit. This one is seriously good though it’s got plenty of important build and is a rock and roll ballad with a guy strong enough to sing about his emotions and facing the great endeavor of welcoming love back into his cold heart, that’s a real song, he’s afraid but willing to be open and accept the love he needs back into his heart. That’s amazing right there. That’s what good music is, and it’s genuine, it should be beloved and respected. Also its pace is outstanding man

I’m older now and for me the most meaningful line in this song is “I’m gonna take a little time, a little time to look around me.” Take time to pause in this life, look around, appreciate the little things, think about what you do have, even if it is the smallest thing. Sometimes we feel trapped, like things will never get better, but remember there is always hope and things do change no matter how insurmountable the challenge(s) may seem. Focus on simple pleasures like a gentle breeze on your face, a sunset, a bird’s song, a cherished memory from the past, a vision of hope for a better future, trust in your own path to happiness. Take a little time and things will get better. Love comes in many different forms and when you least expect it. Take care everyone!
Never gets old ❤️

Foreigner is such a great group. Don’t make them like they used to.
A few years ago I was traveling to work about five a.m. in the morning on Interstate I-95. This song came on the car radio. Suddenly I felt a deep sense of loneliness and sadness. I don't know why, but I loved this song immediately. It made me realize how wonderful and sad the world is now. We all need to show more sincere caring and love of each other, not money or material things, but love for our fellow human beings. God Bless You All.

Lou Gramm had one of the most beautiful singing voices in rock 'n roll. I was sixteen when this song was released. What a time to be alive! 🥰 Back in the late 90s, my husband and I drove from Virginia Beach to Newport, RI, to see _Foreigner_ and _Earth, Wind, and Fire_ in concert on the beach. There was a hurricane coming up the East Coast on our tail as we drove. We thought for sure the concert would be canceled, but the storm got blown out to sea and they were able to play. This was after Lou Gramm's brain surgery and he had lost much of his higher range, but he still had a gorgeous voice. We got to meet him briefly afterwards. Super nice guy. God bless him and I hope he's still doing well.
This song is a masterpiece. It takes you on a journey from sadness ("in my life, there's been heartache and pain") to optimism, and then finally to love. Seeing the New Jersey Mass Choir singing with the band shows that racial harmony is possible and that there is hope for humanity.
