Today I will be trying to make my first alpha and attempting this type of loop. After watching five videos you were the only one who made it easy to understand that I needed to use only the base strings to start off. It was also very helpful that you provided the pattern so I could follow along to see how you figured out the beginning steps. Thank you 😊 ❤️🎉 ONE question: I am using a pattern in which the very first row already switches colors. Would that be too difficult with this method? For now I’m just going to start the pattern after doing what you showed in your video because I don’t know how to incorporate the other colors.

Hmmmm what I usually do is do one or two rows of whatever the background color is first then start my color switches but it shouldn’t be too bad to just start right away.

How do you do this with an odd number of base strings?

what I usually do (it isnt the best or most thread efficient method - but I do it like this and then take one of the base strings and fold it behind the bracelet and just don't knot over it. Kind of a waste but it is only like a foot of thread I am wasting and I reuse it in other bracelets)
