Wow! I’ve always wanted to try 3D scanning. This new app seems to be a game changer! So excited to try it out!

I dont even have any adobe software, I just enjoy watching videos with Jordy. Still very helpful though, such as other free software or techniques. I appreciate the work you guys do.

After Effects 24.1 (official release) now supports 3D models natively. It was released today.

Videocopilot did it already a few years ago with Element 3D. Don't know why adobe still doesn't cooperate with them. 🤔

It's outright embarrassing for Adobe that 10 years after element 3D launched they finally bothered to implement native 3D solution. Cineware plugin is so clunky and slow it doesn't count.

Hello Sir Can you please make tutorial on how deal with undistort and re distort 3d renders basically i have render from Blender which are render using undistortion however it easy for nuke user to use it but difficult for after effect user can you please help me out on this.

No but honestly it'd likely be possible with a plane to match the ground then composited with a blending mode? If not, you could probably do something cheat-y like pre-comping the barrel with a camera angle from the rough position of the real world light source then compositing that into the scene (in true After Effects fashion). Pretty surprised he didn't cover it if it's as simple as the first option so maybe AE 3D render engine can't handle that but worth a try!

I think you can get this same result as easily in element 3D.

at the moment it's worse. In Element 3D, you can also cast a shadow (which aids the realism), and also you can actually distort the 3D object in 3D space. The distort that jordy did here, is only 2D.

3D in AE is pure garbage...it's complicated. Use Fusion instead.

It's faster to model the barrel than to screwing up with all that photography.
