Summary: Step 1: Buy an industrial studio complex for a few million. Step 2: Install a tough rope into the ceiling to hang objects from. Step 3: Buy a camera + camera equipment for a few thousand. Step 4: Suspend items on the rope in the room and scan them. Step 5: Spend more money on Photoshop. Step 6: Spend more money again on Reality Capture so you can export scans.

I do this using an old reflex camera (but a smartphone with a good photo sensor would do) and Meshroom, an open source photogrammetry software. That being said, there are apps that do just this, scan + 3d model generation + export. You can get by with the free versions or learn to use Blender to clean up your final meshes before importing them to UE.

@@TheSliderW I am aware that you can use a potato to take pictures for photogrammetry. I have worked with it before.
I love how you edit your videos, they are so high quality!
I’ve literally just started looking into Photogrammetry and you drop this video. Great minds think alike. ❤
Great stuff here. :)
Great information! Thanks for sharing!
Interesting, going to have to give this a try
I just found your channel today been watching your content and learning a lot thanks.
Tips and tricks. My respects!

You need make video on how to make post apocalyptic city or world please 🙏 I can't wait
Kinda helpful? A very big thanks all the way from Ghana
Where are Yannick, Lorenzo and others? I haven't seen them in a while.
Hey... thx for showing this software. I've used the software as an early user. It's amazing and easy to use. But pls don't say it's free and u have to give them a "small fee of a couple of bucks". This is just missleading imo. It's a PPI-License what u present here. 18$ is not rlly cheap for one model. U wanna grab 10 models for a project... 180$ here we go. Just my thoughts. Lighting is rlly important as u mentioned. What u can use is an anti-reflection spray, or ust go outside on an overcast day (I think u already did that, but maybe with more open space around it). What also helps is to get a white background since it's way easier fro the program to process).
I wonder every day ever since I started 3d scanning my own plant assets
The best ever
Hi sir I am Indian 🇮🇳 ❤❤❤ Thanks 👍 to create a informative videos your videos are helped everyone's and Me
For beginners, you will need an RTX GPU they have cuda drivers which AMD doesn't have. I am not sure if the newest generations of AMD support CUDA drivers, but I think that's an Nvidia exclusive.
On the next copycat friday do the magnifying glass transition on the AJR "way less sad" video music pls!
Retopologise the model and bake normals maps and then use AI to generate roghtness maps pr just make it from the photo. J It will add alot of variation ans make it look even better.
Just check Gaussian splatting or gsplat. Its much easier than this.

but gaussian splatting is not object 3d, its just reflection
Finalmente o primeiro a comentar
Bro why dont you try to shoot a human and create a 3dmodel !
Bring Hindi language option also Because I don't understand English Please 🥺🥺
gaussian splatting
2 Million triangles for a single mesh is WAY to high. AAA Game Characters are around 100k. And yes there is nanite, still this is just unnecessary.
Photogrammezry is amazing stuff but lets be honest modelling it would be just simpler and 1000x times faster

dificil seria texturiza-lo realisiticamente

to some extend. Let's say u wanna have a specific model (like a special church), with all the texture and stuff. Once u understand the program it's very straightforward.

But if you can't model or do photogrammetry, isn't this easier to learn?
@TomKuen_

@@jamesbartlett5963 photogrammetry? Yes it's "easier" to learn but u are limited to what u have in the real world. Learning moddeling i think is a must to better understand what is happening when u use reality capture like in this case.

@@TomKuen_ thanks for the advice. Is there a good starting place for learning modelling?
Every moment, hospitals in Palestine are bombed, and children, women, the elderly, mothers and fathers die.... Where are human rights, where are animal rights, where are women’s rights, where are children’s rights, where are the rights of the elderly, where are plant rights, where are the rights of the patient, where is justice, where is mercy, where is love, where is goodness, where is peace. Help Palestine. Help the Arabs, research their history and religion. They love peace and goodness for all people, but unfortunately today they are killed in cold blood and their lands are stolen.
