Almighty Garden Jungle DISASTER Transformed!!!

Well, have I got a crazy one for you today. This really does bring a new meaning to garden jungle restoration. This one came through to the call centre and was asked to go around, have a look and do a quote. When I saw the place, I was shocked. You could hardly access the back for overgrown blackberries. And that was just the start of this unbelievable garden adventure. All up, I spent around 12 hours on this cleanup, with 3 trips to the landfill.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs. But most of my recent jobs have been done for free.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.

A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.

A job you definitely needed to be paid for. You should be paid for all of them imo as you are bar none the best mower out there- you never leave clippings but use the lawn mower to pick them up so the grass is clean. I did that last week and spared my back for the first time as usually rake up clippings and bin. A great tip I picked up from you!

I watch a couple 3 hours of these, daily, as I find them, strangely, therapeutic & in my book, George is #1 in the biz! He's more fastidious & painstaking than his peers & either removes or stacks trash, unlike a lot of others who work around & leave lie & never bother to tidy up trash on the sides. (Remember George stacking cords of wood neatly in 1 pile)! Tip 'o' the cap to you, mate.
