A Sad Sight In Today's Society.. Reclaiming Peggy's Garden (Ep4)

Ойын-сауық

Now this one hits differently, just seeing how overwhelming an overgrown garden can be.. making Peggy feel overwhelmed and trapped. It's not on that someone from an older generation can be left like this, I am so grateful to receive this nomination and try my best to help. We still have a long way to go but we are a step closer each episode! You will also see more of Jim at the end of the episode.. It won't be long until you see us at his house. Episode 1 for Jim and Jean will be bonkers!
Very grateful to be using Kress equipment.. they donated power tools to help us on the blessing!

A month ago seeing Peggy's overgrown garden was tough, It's not nice knowing people are out there struggling and being isolated from the world. In just a couple of weeks I feel we have made such a positive impact, reclaiming her garden and planning to make it look how it used to be. My boys and wife often stop and say hello to Peggy on the School run, not sure where I am going with this but Thank you so much for watching and being apart of this online community! I feel like we all make such a difference, closing in on Three hundred thousand of lovely bunch. Have a great weekend!

Peggy's property is overwhelming. You were doing high pressure washing and now you are tackling massive projects like this. I want to take my hat off to you, your dad, and everyone helping in whatever way they can. All hands on deck, every gesture makes a contribution. The neighbours making tea for you all, the man who helped with your dads van, etc. You are tackling this project step by step despite it being exhausting and overwhelming. Look at how far you have come. One day, you will finish and it will be a proud moment. It is a team effort and worth celebrating. No older person should be isolated and neglected, it is an eye opener as to just how bad things can get for people struggling. Well done for uplifting Peggy, the gentleman who's roof is rotting, and just making a joyous difference. You, you dad, wife, the children, and everyone helping are incredible human beings that also deserve many blessings. If I could subscribe 100 times I would but alas I am only allowed to subscribe once and give a thumbs up once. 😅 Take time to rest and try not to burn out. Big hugs from Germany 🤗💖👋

Another fantastic project. Poor Peggy was literally being swamped by her garden and now you have let the light back in to her home. Well done boys you restore my faith in humanity and remind us all to do what we can to help others. Even if it's just a cuppa and a smile x

If in every town, neighborhood or city, there were a handful of people willing to help those who need it out of love, empathy and solidarity, the world would change radically, people would be kinder and happier and seeing this behavior the values of the most little ones would grow up following in his footsteps. I cannot express in words how good it feels to see that you are part of that handful of good people who give us hope, confidence and faith in the future. From Spain receive all the love from a grandmother who admires you.🙏🏻👏🏻💗.

I loved this video and didn't want it to end! The property looks so great! I can picture Peggy out in her backyard with a cup of tea this summer with a butterfly or two flying around. So nice to see three generations of your family involved in these projects, and it's so clear that the goodness trickles down through the family through example. Can't wait for the next video!

(Tongue firmly in cheek.) It's a good thing these take as long as they do. Because if Norman, Shelia, Peggy, and others were able to leave in the morning to get groceries with their little pull-carts and you were able to have final results in a snap. It'd be like "Raiders of the Lost House" They say things like, "Where'd it go, where'd it go? Cuz I'm used to crossing a jungle with deadly dangers in it to reach my front door." It'd be midnight, crickets chirruping in the background, and they would still be circling that same block dragging their pull-cart behind them, around and around - Can't recognize their home. (Meant to be funny& light-hearted, not critical.) You're doing great work and passing out an enormous helping hand.

What a fantastic transformation you’ve already accomplished with Peggy’s yard/garden and to think you’ve still so much to do! I can’t even begin to fathom how much what you, your dad and Jim have done/will do has improved Peggy’s outlook and mental health. She’s already showing a much more positive attitude from the beginning of the work, when she still seemed uncertain about things. She definitely was looking forward to the work being done but still seemed hesitant in her optimism. I loved seeing her in window watching you clear the brambles from around the back door area! LOL! I wondered what was going through her mind watching you work, how much wonder and joy was she feeling watch the garden being transformed.

Thank you Ben, you’re an angel! I absolutely love that tool you use to spifflicate the brambles! It’s incredible! Watching every video you make never fails to warm my heart. Seeing the quiet desperation of these elderly people basically trapped in their failing homes and overgrown yards, with no way to rectify the problems is so terribly sad, yet after a few visits by you, your Dad and hardworking helpers they look so relieved and happy. You lift their spirits tremendously and raise their standard of living at the same time. Bonus for them is a visit by your precious children! Bravo, well done. You have a very kind and compassionate heart. ❤️😘

I think it shows a lot about today’s society in that those around this dear lady allowed her property (inside and out) to get in such a state. Where I live, years ago everyone kept their gardens pristine, most today are an overgrown mess. The can’t be bothered society. Well done and thank you for rescuing Peggy from such neglect.
