    When Kobe Bryant was asked (on the Stephen A. Smith show) "Who's the most dangerous player you've battled with head to head?" his answer was quick. Kobe said Allen Iverson The Answer I don't get why he is always left out when people talk about the Greatest Ever... People say M.J. or Kobe or LeBron OR "Kobe is the closest we've seen to M.J." My point is, IF THIS IS ALL TRUE... And Iverson was as good as Kobe, if not better in his PRIME ... Then #3 Allen Iverson should AT LEAST be brought up as arguably the Greatest Player Pound for Pound more often. I watched this whole Mans Career and he deserves more respect. PERIOD.

    @@metsrus You're really gonna talk smack about a Legend who died just a couple months ago?? Much respect, but name the Season that Dwayne Wade even MADE THE FINALS without Shaq or LeBron..... Never came close. At just under 6 feet tall, Allen took the Sixers to the 2001 Finals with a bunch of NOBODY's and Dikembe Mutombo to face Kobe/Shaq in their Prime. OH, and all A.I. did was drop 48 Points in a Game 1 Win at L.A. (handing the Lakers their ONLY Postseason loss that Year) and Average 35.6 PPG in the Series. Time Macine Hypothetical: LeBron wanted to "take his Talents to Philly" and the Sixers sign Chris Bosh [while Iverson is in his prime] there's NO WAY they don't at least Win 2-3 Rings. Dwayne was amazing, but he was also blessed with some of the most STAR-POWERED Teams in NBA History. While on the contrary, you could argue that Iverson was the GREATEST PLAYER [to recieve so little help] I'm sorry, for those reasons.. I can't say Wade was better than Kobe, and I definitely cant say he was better than The Answer

  • @metsrus

    @metsrus

    @@sycamoreshade8109 like I said there's a reason no other superstars wanted to play with AI, dude needed the offense to run through him and had to have the ball 90% of the time. What was his field goal percentage and how many shots did he jack up a night? The no help is really lame argument, no help that's why he padded his stats. Jordan needed Pippen to win too. Jordan was what 1-7 in the playoffs before Pippen. People came to Miami to play with Wade, that's how unselfish he was. AI was the franchise player he could have pressure the management to get better players. The fact that he didn't get any superstars show that either 1. no one wanted to play with him because he needed the ball in his hands all the time or 2. AI preferred to be the 30 ppg scorer and valued scoring titles over championships. But both reasons still come down to him taking too many shots. Not hating bruh, just speaking the truth. Scoring titles over championships that's what AI is known for. His defense was mediocre at best too.

    His coach Larry Brown said it best when he told Stephen A. Smith that he wished AI saw what an inspiration he can be for the kids! In my humble opinion the 2nd most influential player ever behind MJ, not just in the NBA, but for everyone watching and playing hops in their backyard. This man played like he gave his life on the court, 100% dynamite! And not for 5, 10, 20 games, but for 82. Relentless. Pure grit, heart and determination! He may not have a ring, and ring purists out there may diss him for being selfish, not practising, wasting his potential, not making his team mates better etc., but he etched a lasting legacy on the NBA that few could ever match!

    What I loved the most was his signature dribbling (going left, right, left, right) and his rival-look in his eye. You can tell his style meant to confuse and bring the worst out of his opponents. He got the tats, he got the gear, he got the braids, he got the attitude, and he got the game. He was basketball in the court.

    Your comment makes YOU look like a fool. Jordan didn't get his ankles broken; he didn't get left in the dust. Iverson made a hell of a move and still barely got the shot off. Jordan played great defense on that play; Iverson played better offense. But it's still just two points. Oh, and for the record, Iverson knows he didn't make Jordan look like a fool: have you ever seen his interview about this play where he expressed incredulity that after all that Jordan was about an inch away from blocking the shot? Iverson knows better than you do, and he gave Jordan props for that tight defense (even though Iverson beat him on that play).

Also Shaq and Kobe Lakers are so much better than the Ewing/Stark knicks. AI was avgin 35 ppg. This dude was the ONLY option all season and playoffs. Sixers support squad were bums, beyond stats alone.

  • @armandodelossantos736

    @armandodelossantos736

    RICH SONG no way Kobe and Shaq Lakers were better than the Ewing and Starks Knicks and for one very simple reason! Ewing was a better defender than Shaq period hands down. Oh and Ewing can shoot so he made Olajuwon have to come out to the perimeter to guard him and still have to protect the rim! Ewing avg 4 blocks a game in a 7 game series. Also on the Knicks, more than 2 people were capable of shooting the ball, Kobe and Shaq are the only two to average 20+ because they took all the shots. You have to combine Fisher, Fox, Horry and Tyron Lue's FG for the series just to match the 110 shots Shaq took in 5 games. Out of the Lakers 389 FG Shaq and Kobe took 221 of them! The Knicks won more games in 94', then the Lakers won in 2001, and the rockets only had 3 players in the 94' Finals in double digits but they avg 36%, 32%, 41% FG because of the Knicks defense. Yeah you disrespected Eric Snow and Mutumbo by saying Iverson had no help.

    I love this and was privileged to see him up close live @ staples center in 04. I remember his feet never seeming to touch the ground. I wish you could have seen it live if you haven’t. He has remained an inspiration.
