A game at AFH is like a religious experience. Truly unreal. A very special place. RCJH!

i was at this game as a student and this was one of the best experiences i have ever had, up there with watching mario chalmers hit the 3 in the national championshiip. it was also louder at the end of the game than when we broke the record

I was in attendance. It was exhilarating!!! So we didn't get home until 2:30 a.m. and I was at work by 7:30 a.m. Pretty sure I was a zombie the entire day. Would I do it again? WITHOUT QUESTION!!! What a game and what an experience. P.S. Everybody at work was dying to hear the stories - from the record break, to the end of regulation, to overtime. They were all jealous! Haha

Allen Fieldhouse may be the greatest sports venue in all of sports that is still left . Wrigley and Fenway are the only ones who may argue that. The new places don't have the atmosphere that the old places had.

As amazing as this record is, it sounds as though there's music playing over the loudspeakers. Which, knowing that sound system, definitely helps in the attempt. Just compare that to the 127 dB from people's cheers alone after T-Rob's block during the '12 Mizzou game.

Still ain't the greatest tradition in college basketball. That'd be us at kentucky. AFH might hold the record, but the history, energy and intimidation factor that comes from playing rupp will never be beat.

Hilarious comment since Rupp Arena is named after a guy who played for Phog Allen. I guess AFH just needs a mall attached to it so it has that real college basketball tradition?

Named after a Halstead, KANSAS boy that grew up to be a Jayhawk. There is no Wildcat glory if a Jayhawk hadn’t been there to make it.

Rupp initially set it when they played Kansas. That attempt got to 126.4 dbl. Who won that game, Kansas. Kansas then beat that record with 130.4 when this video was recorded. On another interesting note Rupp Arena is named after Adolph Rupp who happened to play college basketball at the University of Kansas. His coach was Dr. Forrest "Phog" Allen.
