Hotpot is amazing. We got a hotpot bowl a while ago and had hotpot. The sizzling meat and chilly sauce is amazing. It was just a simple chicken base broth for us though and we had some vermicelli noodle in the broth. Everything was a little on the less flavorful side because the sauce was strong so it brought everything together really well :)

The simplest broth is...water....no kidding, that's the hotpot in Beijing cuisine. The dipping sauce is sometimes more important. But of course you can use more advanced broth, beef/port bone or chicken soup.

Yonghui Fan I always make mine with just warer. Throw in a chunk of garlic and some scallions and that’s it. Then throw in the meat then veggies. Then by the time you’re done throw in the noodles and it’s a beautifully flavored broth.

You should go to restaurants where people don't give good ratings and check out if it's actually as bad as they say. Like myth de-bunking - food edition lol

I'd say D 72 on Dominan road I think it's actually called Briton house it has the biggest selection I've seen so far as a all you can eat buffet I was getting annoyed as I couldn't find a hot pot place with all the good stuff but finally have I did like the Chinese steamboat abit further Down the same road but smaller selection Northshore also has a few good ones but D 72 was by far the biggest selection great sauce bar with everything I also posted reviews on Zomato but I'm a huge fan of extra spicy hot pot and my Mrs says I'm a dumper too lol meat selection is always similar quality tho

Hi Mike! Is there any chance you could do a video in the future on hot pot etiquette and food safety for newbies who have never had hot pot before? I've only had hot pot once and it didn't end well. (My dinning companions and I definitely mishandled some raw meat and seafood!) I'd love to learn about how long to cook some of the most popular hot pot items, how to manage the temperature of the broth, if you should use different pairs of chopsticks for raw and cooked foods, etc. Thanks! :)

I went to New York again for the first time in a while, and brought my parents with me to Hometown Hotpot for our first trip into Hotpot. We can't get it here, and I was absolutely not disappointed! Thanks for the review😄

I’ve watch countless videos and it makes me happy and sad, southern Florida doesn’t have a wide variety of Asian restaurants, I have never had half of the things in your videos! It makes it so bittersweet! Eat for the both of us lol!

Mmmm I love hometown!!!!! Their curry base is amazing and Everything is fresh. I totally suggest it! I think it's one of my favorites in NYC ❤️ I just recently went to Timestamp, but I really like it as well! Another favorite.

Absolutely love the fact that you will try anything.

Genuinely love these videos, I am a big foodie and cook at heart, and this channel always makes my day. :) I hate to ask, but unfortunately my area does not have any restaurants like this and I am only just recently trying to learn about this style of cooking, but are there any types of sauces or dishes you should avoid or at least ask about if you go to such a restaurant or abroad and have an allergy? (Specifically peanuts in my case...^.^' ) I know Mike has mentioned in the past that the servers are your lifeline in this type of restaurant, but on the off chance you're on your own, like during a rush, I'd love to know if there's anything to keep in mind when hitting up a sauce bar if I ever get a chance to visit and eat at such a place. Thank you!

You Should Get a T.V. Show

You really need to come to Cincinnati and do a food tour here! I've found a handful of restaurants since subscribing to you a few years ago that are absolutely amazing, but I could always use more, since I'm just a white girl with access to google and a love of authentic food. I do have to thank you, though, for piquing my interest in Szechuan cooking (I've found two fantastic restaurants with authentic food), pho (there's a restaurant near me with some of the most amazing pho broth and great hot oil), and dim sum (there's an amazing dim sum place near the pho restaurant that I've only had once unfortunately). I'd love to see you come and explore our Asian food in Cincinnati and give me some great ideas of where to try next.
