Thank you for reminding people that Chicago isn't just a Midwest city that eats hot dogs all day. People forgot that we're the third largest city in the country and a huge international hub, which means we have such a vast array of food options and things are super fresh since they are coming off planes hours after being caught or harvested. My previous job included planning events for international business owners who were looking to put an American location in Chicagoland, and they were always shocked at some of the authentic cuisines we had. My favorite was the man who had actually cried because the Chinese restaurant in the suburbs I took them too was close enough to what he grew up eating that it reminded him how much he missed home.

I just left there not that long ago, on my honeymoon! There’s a good ice cream place called Cone Gourmet Ice cream, was amazing!!! We went to a few places where diners, drive ins and dives went. Love your videos Mike! Stay safe 🥳

I wish I could like this multiple times, just for Portillo’s! :) Note for when you are refilling your freezer: Portillo’s ships kits for hot dogs, beef sandwiches, Italian and Polish sausages, and more. (I’m from the Oak Brook area and was raised with Portillo’s as a weekly dinner out. Now that I live in a completely different state, I order Portillo’s shipments 1-2 times a year.) I’m so happy you enjoyed their food so much!

he pulls it off. it seems like with gym effort, so maybe cutting calories isnt the answer for you and maybe the answer is less sedentary living. imho it makes you healthier mentally and physically to compensate via kinetic energy when maintaining weight as opposed to reducing intake. obvious outlier exceptions to this opinion exist and i recognize that.

Mike, you should’ve gone to the Portillo’s off Harlem, closer to MDW, they have the Barnelli’s side where you can choose from pastas, salads, and most importantly; the delicious meatball! Next time you’re back in Chicago, I recommend going to that one. ✌🏼

I used to love going to the Portillos that have the Barnelli’s and didn’t realize there was one somewhat close to me… I love their pasta and haven’t had it in forever, thanks I’ll be going there soon soon soon😋😋😋

The anticipation when Mikey first tastes something and I can’t tell if he’s going to say it’s delicious or disgusting. I think I even hold my breath!

When his mom asked “is it nice? WHICH ONE TASTES GOOD?” Man I felt that… you gotta give them the “it all tastes so good BUT…” and then just give very little criticism to one of the dish so that they know you’re being serious.

Home made is always the best for sure. I had a Vietnamese friend in high school and one day his mom made us some pork rolls..... OMG! Best thing I've ever had in my life! I still think about them 20+ years later. Absolutely no restaurant I've eaten at since then has come close.

Italian beef is a magical dish, that people confuse with a French dip. Totally different, but still both amazing.

When I drove OTR I was lucky enough to stop at a small truck stop that had a Portillos in. The Italian beef with hot & sweet peppers dipped was amazing. That bottle your mom made is perfect size for me 👍👍

Glad to see you're in my area! It's surreal seeing someone enjoying Portillos when I'm so used to it just being there-- though I think I'll have to try the polish sausage next time, I always end up getting the hot dog...

we don't see all the behind the scenes suffering it takes to not be 1000lbs with heart disease given his work and portfolio of video content. this guy prolly puts in the gym effort of a top level athlete in order to not be a huge health risk t himself given what he does. in other words there is always give and take, and nobody is really ever living the life ;) take that to heart sweetie as it is the key to being happy yourself

Mikey if you ever visit Chicago again you NEED to go to sea food city. It's a HUGE Filipino shopping center with so many restaurants, food stands and two bakery's. You can even go grocery shopping for some Filipino foods and fruits.

It makes me so happy to see you enjoyed Portillos! Next time get some giardiniera peppers and cheese on the beef sandwich! You won't be disappointed.

Mikes family seem so down to earth. It’s good to see him looking well and healthy. I love that he didn’t edit out getting attacked by a chicken wing.
