They never said they will remake anything except for the RoC intro. The remade intro is actually already unusual, because StarCraft got zero reforged cinematics, only 4K upscaled.

I've said this in a reply to someone, but it might get lost in the comments (not like this comment can't get lost, but, hey, one can hope!): Back at Blizzcon 2018 I saw that remade intro cinematic and, of course, I assumed they would be remaking the other cinematics as well. Then I watched them present the rest of the game and saw that interesting new take on The Culling and how they planned to make this for a lot more levels. Then somewhere I heard about them re-doing the voice acting as well because they wanted to add more interaction between the characters, like for example between Arthas and Anasterian during the destruction of Silvermoon. I had to find out on some obscure post on the forum a month after Blizzcon 2018 that they WEREN'T remaking the cinematics. Well, could've blatantly said that now, couldn't you, Blizzard? "It's just for the intro cinematic, people!" They didn't. No news for a year, and then during blizzcon 2019 they said they're not doing the campaign update. So no retelling of the story, no new interaction between characters and all that. AGAIN I had to specifically search for interviews and sift through forum posts for this. To this day, they still have that "4+ hours of reforged cutscenes" statement on the fucking website as well as the trailer that contains the god damn reforged version of The Culling. And the new models and all that? It looks like one of those fucking chinese mobile games. I swear to God, every time I look at a blademaster model, I see that Raid Legends (or w/e its name is) piece of shit mobile excuse for a cash-grab. And like a final insult to everything else, they remade that Arthas vs. Illidan cinematic at the end of the TFT undead campaign into a 2 minute version that adds NOTHING except 2 Witcher-like "hmmmmm"s, one for Arthas and one for Illidan, and a couple of useless swings of their weapons that make the fight drag along for an unnecessary amount of time. I've heard people said they wanted it remade because at the end of the original cinematic, you could believe Illidan was dead and not just badly wounded. In the end, the cinematic ends the same: Illidan appears to be FUCKING dead. Actually even worse, cause he barely fucking moves in the new one. This shit is not worth 30$ in any fucking way. I'd buy it for 10. Would've said 15 if they would have been FUCKING honest with us about what they were making. But Blizzard is dead. Activision is just wearing its skin now.

I remember playing WC3 campaign when I was like 14 y.o. It was such an excellent game... nice gameplay, interesting and original story, and the best cinematics. At the end of the campaign, there was a really long list of people who have been working on the game, and I realised how much time and effort it takes to make a game. It's so sad to see this company's values shifting towards "minimum effort, maximum money"

I expected at the very least Kel'Thuzad's hilariously easy boss battle to have him next to 2 Graveyards and have a unique mass raise skeleton spell or something just to make Tichondrias' line about him being powerful enough to need to sunwell to be resurrected less of a joke.

You guys probably don't even know about the situation, while #nochanges has won btw. So you got what you've deserved, now eat it and don't whine. You know who exactly is killing blizzard? The fans. After their reputation gone low after several things (immortal, hots etc) they started to appeal and appease their fans, hastily making d4 announce and listened to their shit with reforged. I wonder if capcom listened to the old whiners to make #nochanges with their RE2 and RE3 (they did not, there comes the problem, never listen to the fans who don't know what they want themselves)

You should have read updates that they only just remastered the intro and the fight cinematic, not the rest. Even comments in the Arthas vs. Illidan sneak peek, you can see people saying it.

@@agarknox227 You shouldn't have to read the updates. Games should be released in the way they are announced. Those updates you are talking about are like the fine print on a contract. Yeah, they give you the information you need.. but they intentionally put them there in a way you might not notice. I my eyes it's a bait & switch. If they scrap such ideas they have to announce it in a bigger way, so everyone has the opportunity to get this information.. including people who don't follow every dev blog out there. I personally follow Blizzards dev block here and there and even I missed that piece of information. I didn't purchase the game though because I thought MMORPG Tycoon 2 was the better option for me. Guess I was right on that one :-)

I couldn't tell that any of these (besides arthas/illidan obviously) had any work done to them besides lightening of shadows and up-scaling the resolution with a light sharpening effect as well. Otherwise these look exactly like they did. Which disappoints me. I was most excited about the cinematics being COMPLETELY re-worked to the level of WoW-Expansion trailers. Which evidently my expectations were too high. But the UI is garbage, online multiplayer isn't working on day 1. This is NOT good.

The incredible care and craftsmanship that Blizzard put into these cinematics in 2003 stands in stark contrast to the absolute half-ass fuckery that they passed off for the new Illidan vs Arthas fight. Seeing the old cinematics in HD for the first time only makes the difference even more apparent. Just look at the loose threads at 10:24 on Medivh's hood. So much passion and attention to detail done by the old Blizzard team. Amazing to see the decline in company values.

I didn't pre-order since wod. You should neither guys. Still nice to re-watch. It's amazing to me how perfect the story was back in the days. A real fantasy novel. Now it feels like a shonen.

i'm disapointed that they didn't update the old cinematic's like they promised but in a small way i'm kind of glad cause i really hate the new direction they've been going with how the orcs look in warcraft and its nice to see the good original designs again, where they have pointed ears and large jaws which i've been getting sadder and sadder that they've been trying to phase out as of late.

If they at least made a new cut scenes i would appreciate this version for at least that.....

the arthas vs illidan cinematic was far better than the original. but it has high fan-art quality in comparison to the god-level cinematics Blizzard is capable of producing. a well made reforged was the laziest and most effective way to make fans happy and make lots of money. honestly, failing this bad only makes sense if it was on purpose.

They didn't even try to remake the cutscenes. They just made them HD while not changing anything

it was an experiment, trying to do an action scene on game engine with custom animation don't even look so bad for me

The remastered cutscenes and original are both good but the Icecrown fight should have been the same level

Oh well...At least they re-did all the models, icons and menu.

Why the hell do people keep acting like they expected full remasters on all the cinematics? Blizzard said right from the start the trailer was the only one getting that treatment and the rest would just be polished for HD. I'm still dissapointed they fell short of updating the ingame cutscenes, but these were NEVER supposed to be any different.

The arthas vs illidan was bullshit. I expected a more decent fight and in the novel iirc Illidan defeated arthas until frostmourne took control of his body and took down Illidan. Not gonna bother watching the rest. I doubt they would have been changed

The reason i bought the game yesterday is because i thought the ingame cinematics where also reforged like they did show in that 40 minute gameplay video a year or so back. 4+ hours of reforged cinematics... i dont know if they officially retracted this statement but its still on the home page of its web site. Not even the culling cinematic from that mouth watering cinematic 40minute gameplay is in the final build. So disappointed. I requested a refun this morning because its just warcraft 3 with a new skin (a very beautiful new skin perhaps), but not worth 30 euros in my opinion. Ill rebuy it when its on sale i guess.

To this day, they still have that "4+ hours of reforged cutscenes" statement on the fucking website as well as the trailer that contains the god damn reforged version of The Culling. And the new models and all that? It looks like one of those fucking chinese mobile games. I swear to God, every time I look at a blademaster model, I see that Raid Legends (or w/e its name is) piece of shit mobile excuse for a cash-grab. And like a final insult to everything else, they remade that Arthas vs. Illidan cinematic at the end of the TFT undead campaign into a 2 minute version that adds NOTHING except 2 Witcher-like "hmmmmm"s, one for Arthas and one for Illidan, and a couple of useless swings of their weapons that make the fight drag along for an unnecessary amount of time. I've heard people said they wanted it remade because at the end of the original cinematic, you could believe Illidan was dead and not just badly wounded. In the end, the cinematic ends the same: Illidan appears to be FUCKING dead. Actually even worse, cause he barely fucking moves in the new one. So yes, my man! This shit is not worth 30$ in any fucking way. I'd buy it for 10. Would've said 15 if they would have been FUCKING honest with us. But Blizzard is dead. Activision is just wearing its skin now.

​@@Legoldos Troll alert ;) I know you are trolling and thats fine. But let me reply so that other readers can get a bit of insight into why our grief is valid. Some people game because of the story. Others play because of player vs player. I did both, i was hooked on the story and i even played this game semi-pro in wich i earnd a bit of money. The reason i bought it on release is because i wanted to experience the story that had a pretty big impact on me. The thought of retelling it a bit and have ingame cinematics (like SC2) was a cool idea in my opinion and i wanted to relive it. Sure, some might not share my opinion and that is fine, power to all of you. I will buy this game eventually, when its around 10 or 15. And then ill start playing the hell out of it online. Sure, the extra 15 euros (for me its in euro not dollar) is not that much for me personally. But i use my wallets to make statements. Thats the reason i dont do pre-orders and why i askt for a refund. Because the sad truth is, blizzard from old is dead. This is a remaster, nothing more, nothing less.... A pretty remaster wich i will play online eventually but not a remaster i mush have to play the campaign again. come at me troll.

I hope Reforged characters are voiced by WOW/HOTS voice actors and actresses.

No. VA are originally from the classic.

The one and only cinematic they did looks like a cinematic for a Chinese mobile game. I guess that makes sense for a Chinese mobile game company like Blizzard though.

@@LeystTV Oh, I mean, like, one of the developers said they placed a zergling in the rampaging and stampeding orcs in the cinematic. And told us to try and find it. I heard that from Abelhawk. 😅 That was like a long time ago before the reforged. Even with higher quality, we seem to be unable to find it.

@@trotlicek6664 You said it, a Remaster is a game with the graphics renewed, but... Youre wrong, cinematics must be upgraded too. We are not talking about a new gameplay, U.I. or other things. Cinematics ARE graphics. Not to mention that they promised new U.I. and said that this will not be a simple remaster, it would ve something more... But they just ruined it and worst of all, they took our original WC3 and replaced it with this thing that most people dont want.
