Jase is in the Unimog & Simon is in the D-Max as they head off the beaten track in a stunning stretch of the country in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Moggy proves that size matters when it comes to avoiding getting bogged in the sandy areas, but the lighter D-Max has the upper hand when it comes to the salt pans and mud flats.

Not at all, I was in the Australian Army as a driver for 23 years an had no issues. Did several trips from Townsville to Cape York following the telegraph track, it was hell driving a Mack on that same track.

you need bigger tires on the trailer it would cost an arm and a leg but it would be cool to do unimog wheels on the trailer too
hi ive seen some of your videos you should get a big alloy landing barge type of boat and carry things inside it and use it to cross rivers etc

The Unimogs always were crap in the mud. At least you have reasonable tyres not like the rubbish the army used to use. Once we swapped the mogs for 110 rovers to get the hamel artillery out of the mud in Tin Can Bay. One good thing was the 8 reverse gears, not that you ever needed it.
yer had a unimog in auckland, i thought it would tractor but bald tyres" got stuck often had a chipper on the front of the pto.
These lads need to take a sherp out on one there all 4 adventure tours put it through its pace tow trailers while going off road
MOG Tractor power... just needs a nice $3k spring seat :D .. still cheaper then a chopped 200 or 79 haha

Only if you're happy with a cruising speed of 80 kph (if you're lucky).
