All Plastic Landraider Proteus Conversion - Horus Heresy

Ойындар

I have recently embarked on a project to make an all plastic Iron Hands army for the Horus Heresy (30k). This video shows the plastic Landraider that I have made into a Landraider Proteus.

All of your ideas for the conversion are genius! Love the turret and the sponsons, definitely going to help with my conversion.

I have to ask- are you a shareholder in a styrene company? Haha- I joke- I’ve just never seen someone use so much plastic for so many things. Gotta say, I love it! I’m just a couple of months into the Horus Heresy myself, and the prices are ... a bit steep? I can afford to buy a few items each month, but the tanks don’t seem really achievable at this point. So, your “Plastic Heresy” series is an amazing resource for me- I’d really like to try converting my Land Raider in a way very similar to yours. And other units, as well... So- thank you for putting out such a great series!

Cool vid! I've been planning on doing something like this for a while and have been collecting bits n bobs, if you are using a phobos land raider as a base rather than scratchbuilding, why not go for the Spartan variant with the doors at the front as it is literally the boss! Like the way you recreated the track links :)

Looks awesome! Fantastic scratchbuilding! But I got to admit that I thought you seemed cheap at first when you said you couldn't buy the forgeworld stuff. Since I always thought that the regular Landraider kit was already quite pricey. Then I went to forgeworld and checked out their prices... Holy shit! Those prices are insane, 99£ for one LR Proteus(and i believe shipping is supposed to be super expensive aswell). As a Ork player who loves scratchbuilding/converting/kitbashing, I've always got one eye open looking for a cheapdeal to loot some vehicles. But gamesworkshop and forgeworld have gone insane with their current pricing nowadays. I'm kind of amazed at the prize difference since 15'ish years ago. So I say unto you my good Sir: Bravo. Converting an affordable miniature and making it look fantastic is just pure awesome. Please post more videos about this project. On another note, how do you choose/plan your army/units to get? Do you, like me, just find a fun idea and start building some stuff? Or do you plan the entire project out and go through them one by one? And could you maybe do some more videos about working with styrene? I've learned soo much from watching you and Ian Wyatt's videos. So i just want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Wow, thanks for the kind words! 😁 Yeah the prices are mad, I managed to buy 2 landraiders and a vindicator for the price of the FW one. I tend to buy models I like the look of and try to make an army out of them (as you'll see 😂) I'll see what I can do!
