I love the Aygo X, looks great and nice to drive. Love how it doesn’t take itself too seriously, it’s clearly only designed for 1 person
Great review, thank you. It brought back some nice memories. I have always loved little cars with manual transmissions. My first car was a Ford Festiva (aka Mazda 121) with a 5 speed manual and 63 horsepower/73 lb ft torque. I remember driving through the British Columbia mountains, never getting beyond first or second gear when heading upwards. But I definitely remember getting 50+mpg and only filling up the gas tank once per month.
This is the first time I have watched a car revew from this source and I was really impressed, the review seemed comprehensive honest and authoritative and completely devoid of the eccentric quirky and poor attempts at humor that irritate on so many youtube car reviews while still remaining entertaining. I am not really in the market for such a small car but just thought the Toyota Cross stylish looks were so distinctive and interesting I just had to find out more. So thanks for adding this upload to youtube as this will be I am sure a big help to any prospective buyer.

Very, VERY good review! Thorough, complete, covered all possible points of view, considered every single scenario and option for owning this car... Amazing, really! Thank you!
Yeah Thomas , It's Great to see Brian again 🙏🙏. Please Bring back the "Conclusion" at the end of your videos . Miss them so much 💕💕
From the rear it looks a bit off but the rest looks soooo good! I'd rather have this over the Yaris. Also the interior looks better than it's bigger brother. Thanks for the review.
Had a couple of previous design Aygo's fun cars with a great little engine if your driving it with no passengers, this one looks the best one yet 👍
I remember driving an aygo 3 cylinder way back, 10 years ago, and it was quite fast around the town.. Suppose because it was very light
great review & team-work, and good to see Brian back on screen!! 👍

Totally agree with Brian's points. It's a shame the 3.5m car has been ditched because of low profit margins. Especially with fuel being so expensive; small, economical cars could really shine.
I liked it so much i bought 2, one for the wife and one for me. Must say , I LOVE IT. OK, it wont beat the land speed record and you have to rev the engine a little more when you start off because of the 3 cylinder engine but drive wise, brilliant. Economy wise , I'm getting around 55 mpg per full tank and around 50-65 mpg per trip. I'm actually making up excuses to go drive in it coz I love it that much LOL.
Excellent review Thomas as always..the Aygo will certainly be a very popular vehicle as it will be cheap to run which nowadays is what I it will be about..& its got character..maybe a bit more expensive than it might be but that's today's world 🌎..keep up the great reviews 👍

Even though i love my 2015 c220d. I still miss my old 2008 toyota aygo
Hi there. I do like your reviews very much. I have the old Aygo (2 years old!) and wanted to move up to the Yaris after driving it. Then I saw this was coming out and thought the green one special edition auto would be for me. But…. It’s £22000! After seeing the Aygo X in person, I went right off it. No chance but I get that an auto with soft top (and heated seats!) would be very good. Then Thomas, I saw your review on the new Skoda Fabia. I had one four years ago and enjoyed driving it but thought it was very ugly. The new Fabia is so much better looking. A real gem of design and better looking by far than the Ibiza or VW Polo. So I’ve ordered the Colour Edition 110 6 speed and thank you so much for the reviews. You helped get me a car this time and it’s cheaper than the Aygo X, with power! 👍

Well done Thomas and autogefuhl an excellent review again and I like the aygo x I have driven the outgoing car and we own the near identical 108 it’s a great driving car and my wife is interested in the new one but it concerns me if it’s grown in size and weight the 1.0 Toyota engine was struggling in the old car especially on hills or with load on what’s it like in the new one

Yes, you've nailed it, this car is heavier, and the engine is ... almost the same, so will consume more and it will be less spirited !

Great revies as a deserved this kind of quality car 🤓
Further to my previous comment, I was trying to remember what this car reminded me of and it finally came to me - the shortlived but very attractive Vauxhall Viva Rocks. It will be interesting to see if the Aygo X fares any better.
It's a beautiful car. I fell in love!

Ginger Beige + CVT + Panoramic Roof = A godsend in the city!
It burns as much as my Yaris 2012 diesel and I bet it cost's more, but you have the warranty and the new console plus the soft top :)
Will they make an Aygo GR?
Really appreciate Brian's take! Bring him back, please.

looks funky but the cost cutting points, lack of rear space etc makes it a no-go except for a city vehicle or single///young couple types
I suppose it will become a whole second faster in 0-100 if fitted with more appropriate 13 or 14 inch wheels.

my car has this similar engine (downgraded version, 1KRDE) it makes 65hp & 87nm on toyota agya/wigo. Had 5m/t and 14" wheels, tested it on dragy clocked 0-100 in 13.5s
I love small city cars. I really miss my VW up! TSi. It was a small rocket of pure fun whenever I would put it in second gear. At roads I could easily cruise / float at 120km/h with low engine noise.
Will say that most Toyotas are engine wise, very reliable.
Tad different to the Audi A8 Brian 🤔😁 Cheap n cheerful a nice change. Thanks Chaps.....dare I say, we got the short n tall of things with this review. 🤭👍

It's a trend that's very common these days. With fuel efficiency becoming more of a consideration there's a lot of 1 liter cars being made. My first car was a 1996 Polo with a 1.4 liter engine. Those cars are only sold as 1 liter engines now. Often with some sort of turbo to get some punch out of them. I think it's not bad that we move back to a more "car as transport" mentality instead of "car as race vehicle on the public road" approach.
Damnnn Brian lost so much weight! He has been hittng the gym lately
Well u guys got the 208 for a awesome little hatch. Bt most markets do not. Aygo being a expensive Crossover is a sad thing for most markets
Does it have timing chain or belt?
That is star of David in the pattern of the seats.
You forgot to mention the standard equipment (especially the amazing active safety kit!)
I wish Toyota had incorporated some padding into the door armrest, because without it,hard plastic will be uncomfortable.
Me fascina ese auto me lo quiero comprar !

Hmm interesting, this will be going up against the similarly priced but rather more spacious Suzuki Ignis. It looks nicer than the Ignis I think but still I'd prefer the Ignis (and will stick with my one!)
fuel consumption in these cars is all how you drive it, i bet you can get under 4l/100km if you manipulate the engine braking as efficient as you can, drive below the wind resistance wall, and pumped up tires.

4.7 ltr/100 km on a 2021 model, but this is done by keeping the speed limits and only 100/110 on motorways.
Great car
That road would have me terrified 🫣 😂😂😂😂
probably all the car most people will need around town. I really wish manufacturers would incorporate the sense of fun and character that city cars get into their larger cars. I see a lot of cars that I think "it might do", but few with any charm until you get into big money. Not everyone likes or wants VAG-style grey blandness.

still has gotten at least 2x as big as the original aygo, it's basically the size of the old yaris so what's the point, why does it keep on growing to the point they have to introduce something smaller to fill that market gap
I have read different opinions about the cvt
I rather they just take off the rear seats. My niece already kick the front seat of my MINI and i think that is bigger than this car. No point having the rear seats that small. Maybe do another 3 seats arrangement like the iQ. That may be nicer to be more usable. This car looks good compare with an AMI.
After al those Years Skoda City go is the best. Please bring it back in EU as an EV - not only VW UP - only in few markets....

I disagree I’ve driven the aygo and 108 both 1 litre Toyota engine and 5 speed my only complaint is the clutch is really high and sensitive it is not a progressive action like my VW T Roc so it’s easy to jump stall and make poor gear changes you do get used to it after a while

Had a manual 2018 Aygo, never thought bad of the gearbox. I managed smooth gear changes and it was so fun to drive, so they aren't impossible ;)
Makes you wonder how so many people like me made do with a VW beetle as a family car once upon a time. 0 to 100 kmh in over 20 seconeds and 57 bhp. And that was the 1970s variant.

The front lights shoud have been smaller....
My manual Aygo is in the shop for service and Toyota gave me a Aygo X with a CVT... The Aygo with A CVT is slower and the way it works is honestly irritating - a CVT(eCVT) is perfect in a Hybrid, but not so much in a 72 hp Aygo X in my opinion. Can't wait to get my regular 2nd generation Aygo back ...... The new Aygo X has slightly better materials inside the cabin than my 2nd gen (2021) Aygo. HOWEVER, the X feels more NARROW in the driver's seat. There is more space for my left knee (LHD) in my 2nd gen Aygo - Go Figure
