- Prometheus and Gaia: bad. Don't like the new altantean titans design. - Colossus, Minotaur, Lion, Frost Giant, Nidhoog, Avenger etc. : fine (quite unchanged but hd) - Hydra : kinda goofy but like it. - Wadjet : very cool, but most aztec-like than egyptian.

Last one isn't Kronos imo, he looks more like the Atlantean titan

Titan and unit models are pretty much final. They won't spend money on it again. Atleast Cerberus got correct animations

in that greek titan picture you can see the regular minotaur with iron axe and lacking armor. It seems that the upgraded bull minotaurs come with the extra armor and the large gold axe. Very happy to see that they will add visual upgrades to myth units because in the original game not all myth units got visual upgrades.

I didn't add some units bcs they were not so clearly shown. But bull minotaur upgrade is really cool and scary. They revealed nothing of china so that's still left to see.

Aztec is highly probable. Pantheon is not as unique as Aztecs and that could be the reason for devs to release this civ first. And I personally would prefer Aztec.

also in the trailer we briefly got to see a battle boar which looks really cool now. The original battle boar looked like a clunky shiny piece of origami.

Yea, battle boars were like my fav Norse myth unit. And I really liked battle golden battle boars. Models have improved.

Gotta say, while l really like the updated high-poly models for the myth units and titans (especially cerberus) I wish they'd changed the egyptian titan to something else, anything else other than Horus/Ra, and made Cerberus an _actual_ giant dog (because he was), i'm not a fan of what they've done to Gaia. She looks like groot's mother. And groot is not from an actractive family. Needless to say, i'm curious as to how you got hold of the beta?

I imagine the reason all titan walk up right is so that they all have similar sized hit boxes, for game balance reasons.

Wanna see einherjar and valkyries, those were my favorites

The models were in the steam pictures but not clear. We will get more updates soon.

My humble opinion. They shouldn't have changed the design just make them more detailed. Indeed Giants and Colossus fpr example are the best. Older design are very good they just lacked details

I agree totally. Although new bull minotaur looks pretty good. New design on Titans is bad too. Just had to copy shit.

I really don't like what they did with the hydra, gave it a generic t rex head with frills. The og head design will be missed.

@@marjiman_rts I'm pretty sure hydras were serpent like even in the myths. Not like a t rex's boxy head with frills. The fat head with the narrow long neck makes it look so derpy like a bobblehead dinosaur thing.

Yes. In warcraft 3 too hydras got no ears. But in many other places , they been made more dragon like.

In the beta leak we can also see manticores! And in the trailer there are also fire giants and sphinxes

The Automatons look more like straight up robots and Prometheans actually look *creepy* Which, to be fair, makes complete sense given that their flavor text depicts them as literal unfinished humans.

i liked older automatons more. They appear like dangerous ancient machines because they had dangerous looking pointy armor . While this one is like robo cop . And Prometheans looked more hideous with twisted facial features and arched back. But new ones have their own appeal. Will be cool to play with them. But they messed up the wonderful Nemean lion.

@@marjiman_rts Totally, also i do agree with Gaia looking fancy, really like her design. Not sure why so many consider it being so off. It really sells the "Earth" like feel this time as well as looking more wild. It kinda reminds me the controversy around Pandas in World of Warcraft and people not realizing there were animal characters anyone could play as already, such as Tauren (Big cows = Win, Pandas = People freaked out) But perhaps it is just the initial shock, so maybe they will start to like her in future. ^^

Her image in the trailer is fine but , image in the retold poster is a bit too young and cartoonish to be considered a titan. More like gaia's child. hence the dislike by many. I am fine with whatever as long as the in game model looks nice.

@@marjiman_rts Sobek was in the 'Age of Empires: Mythologies' handheld game on Nintendo DS, and his myth Unit was indeed Petsuchos, so it wouldn't be unprecedented. And the Norse are getting a new minor god -- Frey -- so we could potentially see new minor gods for the other factions too. I wouldn't rule it out.

It's too bad the new Petsuchos feels a lot less fancy (and thus, less "divine") compared to his OG iteration. :\ Retold so far has been a mixed bag of good and bad ideas in terms of design.

I don't think that is Kronos. I think that is the Athlantean titan.

You can also see the cyclops with the greek titan.

From what I read it is a transport unit in game. Because it has a crucial role in the story line. Not sure about multiplayer. But I think roc will be a transport in multiplayer as well

There are missions in campaign where roc transport is needed. So that's an assurance. Multiplayer is different though. If they can balance it. It will be playable. As of now we don't know.

Some of these are pretty weird, I think. With the exceptions of H. Giants and Behemots, the atlantean models seem poorly done to me. A bit to childish and simple.

I agree to some extent. It's not giving the mythical feel. Automatons look like robo cop soldiers. Promothean lacks the hideousness. Argus looks okay.
