the scene at 9:43 with Erin just sobbing on the wagon with mikasa holding his hand made me start sobbing. It was so realistic and just heart wrenching. The hics and him trying to hold it in was exactly how someone cries when they are truly broken and it felt so real. Not the usual anime cry where they scream or just stare, it was just him, broken. He felt immense guilt for the death of his comrades. He trusted them instead of himself and he sadly made the wrong choice. The way he broke down was just heartbreaking.

I hate how the anime made Eren and Mikasa relationship. Eren was much nicer to her in the manga and many aggressive scenes never existed in the manga. 1. Eren never shook off his hand from her in the beginning scene ( 4:30). Eren actually promised her internally that he won't die without being rude 2. 7:07 - 7:27 never existed in the manga. I feel like the anime just fed to the imbalance in their relationship 3. 7:40 - 7:46 never existed. Mikasa never bothered him that much 4. 11:59. Eren transformed immediately Mikasa reminded him the world is a cruel place. It was a frickin whole page In conclusion, the anime really painted a bad image of Eren and Mikasa in the first season by making Eren more aggressive and Mikasa more overbearing

Lea Kanade The director was not trying to make any MAJOR changes from the manga, and Isayama the author works really closely with the studio The changes from manga to anime have reasons Besides season 1 was the season where it was still building the characters, and I actually think it better that Mikasa is so obsessive and Eren seems so rude to her so that later scenes (in the manga or future season 4) would be a lot more impactful It also leaves more room for character development

I sometimes forget that they were 12yrs old when they started training (some of them were a bit older like Sasha and Ymir but still). They don't look like kids, more like teens. Also, i always assumed the reason Mikasa was so obsessed with keeping Eren alive (aside from him saving her as a kid and being her only family left) was because it was Carla's dying wish: she asked Mikasa to keep Eren out of trouble, and begged them both to survive. Which is why she took on a motherly role (she takes care of Eren, makes sure he eats and rests etc) and why he feels like she's overbearing at times. If Mikasa didn't become this parental figure, Eren would've been a lost cause. She kept him in check and stepped up when she needed to, whether he liked it or not. It must be difficult for her, after years of protecting him, she has to learn to let go, and allow him to make his own mistakes and suffer the consequences. She doesn't want to see him hurting, but Eren has a doomed fate. It sucks that the person she cares for most in the world is also the one who bears the weight of the world on his shoulders (symbolised in how he carried the boulder; like Atlas from Greek Mythology). He is going to suffer regardless, and she can't stop that from happening. It's heartbreaking. Though it was revealed is recent chapters that the reason for her obsession was something else (not gonna spoil anything for S4 tho), but we still don't know how true that is, so either way.

@@Marie-fl9uu ***spoiler*** Ackermans are a bloodline of powerful warriors (they are the result of experimenting with titan science or something) and their duty was to protect the royal bloodline. They basically have the power of the titans but in human form; so they're strong as shit. They are immune to Royal memory wiping (so are the Oriental clan), which is why they posed a threat because they could remember the days before the walls were built. Ackermans have their powers activated when they choose a host to protect. Mikasa's brain did that whole electric thing back in Ep 6 and she broke her knife-handle and floorboard, and she stabbed the dude perfectly right through the heart. Once the power is activated, and Ackermans must obey the order of their host (Eren: "Fight. If you don't fight, you die" etc etc; Levi told Erwin he'd "Kill the beast Titan") they acquire all battle experience from previous Ackermans through Paths, which explains why Levi, Kenny and Mikasa are so naturally incredibly capable in battle. And according to Eren (which at this point is kinda an unreliable narrator, do we still don't know how true this is) Ackermans lose their true identity and selves when they've chosen a host; they just become obedient servants; so the real Mikasa died the moment her Ackerman blood was activated by Eren. We're still not really sure how true this is. Hopefully next month's chapter will clear things up. So, Mikasa is not obsessed with Eren because she genuinely loves him and is concerned about him, but because she is a slave to her Ackerman blood, and only cares to protect him because it is her instinct as a servant and a protector, not because he is her only family and close friend. Like i said, this is still not really confirmed. But you could imagine this news really upset Mikasa

giyuu tomioka R in japanese is pronounced as D so that's why Eren sounds like Eden, it's like saying Tanjiro but Tanjido.

I know some people are mad at Mikasa for being overprotective but look at this aspect that Eren's mother asked her to do so and this was practically her last wish since she dies in the next scene . so Mikasa is mind of keeping that promise. @@xin8339 alright here goes SPOILERS The reason Mikasa is attached to Eren is because of what the fans call the Ackerbond, the Ackerman clan was essentially a science experiment by the Eldian royal family to breed perfect bodyguards for the King. The 'surge of power' that an Ackerman feels is triggered by seeing an Eldian in danger and receiving a command from them. In Mikasas case it was when Eren was in danger of dying and 'commanded' her to fight, when the Ackerbond triggers the Ackerman essentially downloads the fighting skill and strength of each of their ancestors and becomes unconditionally attached to the Eldian in question. When she was young she confused it with love, but now she realizes it's just her involuntary nature to protect eren and there's no romance at all
