Gotta disagree with you here. At least I knew that the Wii U was a product. I thought the N64 trailer was a Virtual Boy concept video or some sort-of graphics partnership that never materialized. I only realized that was for a console when I saw the GBA trailer start and thought the uploader forgot the N64 trailer.

To the people wondering why I didn't include the Virtual Boy and the GameBoy Color. The Virtual Boy was not in the video because it was a huge failure and, in my opinion, doesn't deserve to be counted. The GBC was just an upgrade from the original GameBoy, simular to how the DSi is a slight upgrade from the DS and the New3DS is an upgrade from the 3DS. In my opinion, the true successor to the GameBoy was the GBA. Also, I would like to apologize for not including the Game and Watch, which some people pointed out. Anyway, thank you all for over 29,000 views. You guys are the best! 😀

It never struggled because of the console itself, if anything that was the best part of it. It didnt do well because it didnt have the games so there wasnt much incentive to buy one.

Are you insane? I was actually there when the GameCube released and if you ask anyone who was too they would tell you that the gamecube had overly childish, nauseating and ugly graphics. Example: super mario sunshine, when that game released I couldn't play it without my eyeballs exploding or being on the verge of vomiting 6 years worth of food because of how ugly the color palettes were, and don't get me started on how the 3D models looked on almost every game. The design was horrible too. All that space wasted on ports for some random extensions no one bought. The whole console looked like a toybox. Later on they learned from their mistakes and released the wii, basically an overclocked gamecube with little tweaks. The graphics were much better to look at and didn't fry your eyeballs like the GameCube.

I still have my NES that my parents bought me when I was 7.

The Switch's one is just so awesome... it isn't cheesy, it shows exactly what the console is, they flashed the name up several times so that NO ONE can get confused about what this is and Jesus Christ I have had that song in my head for the last month... It wins on all counts and the massive interest in it and the hype it has generated is really testament to that.

Project Reality was the original code name for N64. The actual system was probably in the prototype stage during the time the video was made.

Who Else But Zane ? The N64 had many names during development. Project Reality was probably its first alias before they moved on to Ultra 64 and finalized it with Nintendo 64.

Anyone notice how the Switch is the only trailer that actually shows off the use you'll get out of it? for example the Wii is greatly exaggerated and wasn't even like that and the Wii U well, really no one used it like that. I feel with the Switch they wanted to promote it in ways you'll actually use it. Let's just say though the worst was the Wii U the marketing for that thing was terrible.

Wii U was so much better than the wii. Easier interface, still used the old one, so much better graphics. Also you don't need the tv, I typically just have regular cable running in the background unless playing ZombieU

NES, SNES, and Gameboy all appealed to hardcore gamers. The N64 was misleading, the Game Boy Advance was boring, the DS was weird, the Wii was on point (pun intended), the 3DS concept was right in front of you (pun intended), the Wii U literally looked like an add-on for the Wii seeing how they showed Wii Sports and only said "New Controller", and the Switch tried to appeal to all gamers. *All gamers.* It's changed for the good my friend.

I found the n64 one to be the strangest. they said that it had "stunning realistic visuals" now I realize that technology has evolveed that much. *facepalm*

Lithileix incorrect, those precious extra 32 bits made the games released smoother. taking them away would seriously make the game/s unplayable

99% of N64 games were 32 bit, to conserve memory

kargaroc386 do you have proof of that? Because last time I checked the console was 64 bits. Putting games with only 32 bits and the system can't be used to its fullest potential.

The N64 has 4 MB of RAM. Storing numbers with 64 bits when they only need 16 or 32 bits is wasting precious memory. Also, the RAM was serial RAM, so using less bits actually made it faster.

I absolutely LOVE The GameCube! (Both the console and the trailer.) There’s just something about the music that makes me feel happy, excited, makes me hope they bring a Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo GameCube.

Kevin Teran I sure don't miss when there wasn't a paid option to expand an already huge game. My point. YOU UNLOCK JUST AS MUCH IN GAME AS YOU WOULD NORMALLY, YOU CAN GET MORE CONTENT THAN A NORMAL AMOUNT THROUGH DLC. at least it's how it works in Nintendo. Example: Mario kart 8. Mario kart 8 has the same amount of characters, courses, and karts as any other Mario kart. But you can multiply it by 1.5 through the dlc. Without dlc, it's still the standard Mario kart experience.

Nintendo the best console makers ever!! Anyone else agree??

Thanks for posting, this is great. Looking back, I can see now why Wii U was so confusing for some people. In the trailer they kept saying "Controller this, controller that" but never actually made clear that it was a new system altogether. I remember that you had to dig deep to even find out what the actual console looked like. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Wii U, but now I see why it likely failed.

The gameboy advance pulled off some sweet dance moves

My favorites are the Wii and Switch, because they really show that the consoles are for everyone, and I like the 3DS ad too because it was a fun way to show off the types of games you could play while also emphasizing the 3D aspect.

I did not know you could do all of that with the WiiU. I had it for two years, and mostly just play Zelda: Twilight Princess on the gamepad and play older games with the virtual system on it.

The Wii U, it's a new controller! All joking aside, GameCube gets first place and Switch gets second. These trailers best showed what the console was about, and the GameCube showed the most games.

The Gamecube trailer had a ton of really early beta footage including Donkey Kong Racing the game that could've been if it weren't microsoft buying rare before they could finish it (sigh)

Damien Green it's a pretty early n64 trailer and they mention it a few times as project reality. That was the code name of the 64 during development.

With all these trailers my mind was blown!

Everything about the GameBoy Advance trailer just screams early 2000's I love it.
