the guy who introduced me to genshin, whom i have a secret(not so secret ) crush on, also plays xiao. and the time when he was around i witnessed the second lantern rite. i bought some lanterns and i still have them on my account til this day. when i think of him, i would let fly a lantern. No one knows..

no xiao this year, and the two couples from northland bank is not on screen , really disappointed.

The 2024 lantern rite has the potential to be the best one out of them so far, it sent so many shivers down my spine and (not to be dramatic or anything) I cried xddd but it's missing our precious Xiao :'3

I'm glad we get a private moment with him alone after the cutscene if you remembered to meet up with him at Pervase's temple. I find that so touching and romantic like I was dying in my seat when he tells us he made the lantern himself and wanted to share this moment with us. My kokoro couldn't take it! I do agree, 2024 is my favorite lantern rite so far.

Lantern Rite literally got better after each year, I'm so hype for next year bruh

I remember how mesmerised I was by the very first lantern rite, it was so beautiful and by far the best event I had ever played, and to this day, lantern rite is my favorite event every year, it's so pretty and the nostalgia I feel makes it just so much better, I love this event so much, I hope they never stop making these

the first one looks so stiff whaat, that just shows how better they get with cutscenes each year! I honestly dont remember the first time I saw that cutscene to be looking so stiff, but its still super cute!

2021 the most nostalgic 2022 the most emotional 2023 the most surprising 2024 the most epic

I love how epic 2024 was with the wushu dancing. Definitely gave it a different feel. I think my favourite is 2022. It felt very homely. In 2023 I really like the adeptus interactions (Xiao fighting and Zhongli with moon carver). 2021 I wasn’t there for but i love how the deer comes to life and shows everything including the lanterns. I think it was perfect way to start the tradition of celebrating Chinese new year in the game. 1. 2022 2. 2024 3. 2021 4. 2023

Yea I like the Zhongli moments too. The best lantern rite cutescene is either the 2022 or 2021 imo

so... 2021 - celebrating together 2022 - closer relationships 2023 - future and past 2024 - family reunion and brave choices? I love Lanterns Rite, sadly missed the 1st one, but now I might be not playing for months, but for Lantern Rite I'm always back.

Its my first lantern rite and gaming becomes my favorite character when i started. I just learned his story and this year lantern rite made me cry for gaming and his father 😭😭😭

I love Gaming, but the fact I got to know him after 3+ years of playing and tons of characters encounters really didn't help him get his place on my heart and I keep forgetting him, even tho he's well built with surprisingly good stats

2024 left a huge impact, but 2021 will always be my favorite. I wish they would bring back or allow us to craft more Xiao Lanterns!!

Cloud retainer mentioned she commissioned the best Liyuan designers while Keqing says that her dress is an imported style from Fontaine…so I wouldn’t say they were made by the same designers…but who knows honestly lol

Thank you for putting this together. I just finished 2024 and it made me surprisingly emotional. It was nice to watch all of these back. Surprised they didnt keep the new outfits on Keqing and Ninguang in the later years. Theyre still in shop so it would be a decent reminder to go get them if you dont already lol I really wish they could fit in events like these for all the regions. Its so beautiful the way they animate them and for us to see a bunch of LIyue characters again and introduce some new ones. It would be cool to see that love in all the nations.

I think zongli likes sticking around the funeral parlor because hutao doesnt treat him any differently from an ordinary person. She doesnt revere him for his knowledge and wisdom, hes just her loyal employee and friend

So 2021 lantern rite introduces lanterns as the main attraction 2022 lantern rite introduces fireworks as a tradition to be set off. 2023 lantern rite introduces a more, western tradition as a way to reach for more customers And last but not least 2024 lantern rite, which introduces lion dancing (or wushu dancing, they’re the same thing. One is used by western people, one is used by Chinese people) As well as the tradition to fly kites I do wonder what they’ll introduce next year, I don’t think dragon dancing would be appropriate as. This year is the year of the dragon

It would've been extra appropriate to do dragon dancing this year, but that doesn't mean it can't be done any other year, since actual dragon dancing is done every year, it's not related to the zodiac, the lion isn't even in the chinese zodiac, but it's because the chinese dragon is the symbol of chinese people. Also it's wushou dancing, literally means beast/animal dancing (wu here means to dance). I think it's a newly-made term in genshin that referenced the word for lion dancing which is wushi

So glad and grateful to have been a part of the Lantern Rite since the 1st one and I look forward to it like every single year and my top one was definitely the 2nd one cause everyone was there. This year’s one was also amazing as well ❤. Just had an amazing Chinese New Year this year as well. Time does flies.

I don't exactly know why but I'm kinda disappointed by this years lantern rite. :( It felt more like a Gaming story quest than actual lantern rite. We didn't even meet most of the liyuen characters.

The idea of lantern festival is to celebrate the togetherness with your closet of all so Gaming story brings this theme to life. Most of the asians can connect to him as a character due to this very reason. 2024 lantern rite did not just focus on the tradition and culture but also introduced the concept of reconciling with your family.

Every year it is already an obligatory tradition to attend such a traditional holiday in Li Yue. Every year there is a new holiday, but they are all united by one thing, so familiar and dear to us. I was sad to learn that Xiao, who should be an obligatory guest, was not at the new holiday, but I can fully praise how China tried again and made us a long-familiar event. It was a lot of nostalgia to rewatch and it shows how well they have progressed in editing, animation and detail, keeping the important flavor without changing the tradition. The past was also good, but the new will always be its beginning. Happy holiday, friends who have been traveling for several years! Happy Lantern Rite!!!

I've only been playing for about 5 months, so this was my first Lantern Rite. Nice to see some scenes from the previous years too ❤

you can really see the improvement of animations as the years go by

my rankings !! 1. 2022 (my first lantern rite, something about all the different perspectives of characters made it feel so warm and cozy + keqing is one of my faves + very flirty beigguang interaction) 2. 2024 (this one made me emotional toward the end with gaming + the part with charlotte and keqing + ganyu fixing shenhe’s clip) 3. 2023 (the en dub performance had a lot of potential and i was excited for it since i main both xinyan and hu tao, they’re some of my faves. this would’ve been higher if the performance were better! the adepti part was cool though) 4. 2021 (the main reason for this being last is that i didn’t start playing until june 2021 so i missed it. other than that it was short and only featured xiao which makes sense for the first lantern rite but more character interactions would’ve been nice!) overall, lantern rite is definitely my favorite genshin event. i’m a very nostalgic person and this event makes me think about all the good times i had playing genshin years ago, nights where i would barely sleep because i was too busy playing. i don’t play much anymore but thinking about the prime era of genshin is nice

Lantern Rite is my favourite event of all time

It's so sad that I missed 3.4 Lantern Rite, but 2024 Lantern Rite was emotional. So many good stories and especially with Gaming, it touched my heart...

Honestly, the only thing missing in 2024 was Xiao. I love LR, I started playing when it was on... I may have not played it but I watched it and... Wow..

The 2024 latern rite definietly gave me a feeling of reunion because new characters were shown in the cutscene but i feel like in terms of expressing the celebration festival feeling, the past latern rites did better because those showed much more characters than this year, we missed out beidou, chongyun, xinqiu, xinyan, baizu, xiao, yanfei, ningguang and more, instead we got them replaced with gaming, xianyun, moon carver and mountain shaper and charlotte
