I love Oris, they just have that old world look, simple, straight forward.

The depth of that red dial is incredible 🥧🥧🥧. Great choice on the bezel to set it off too.

I'm not quite sure I want to spend over $2000 on a watch yet, but when I am, then this will be on my list. For now though, I will continue to wear my Orient Kamasu w/red dial. It has quickly become one of my favorite watches.

I got my red Kamasu yesterday and am really loving it. I had the red Kanno and I liked the hands and bezel on that more, but the size of the Kamasu is a better choice for me and I have a new favorite.

I cracked my timex open and spray painted the dial red. I made the hour and second marks with white-out. Looks almost as good as this Oris. Cost me $3.29.

Wynner3 - $2000 is actually a good deal for a high quality classic watch. Refrain from pissing money away on a whole bunch of generic, mediocre and poor quality watches. Put put your money toward one excellent watch instead. The satisfaction, value and service you get will be the proof of the pudding.

Man, what a great pick from the Oris collection to review. I don't think this one will be on my list, but seeing that stunning dial was such a treat. I'm not sure if anyone will get the reference, but the dial reminds me of the old southern soft drink Cheerwine.

That's the nice looking red watch IMO so far. I love the bezel not using the same color of the dial, no color at all in fact! Man, I wish those watches had a better price here in Brazil, because it's a expensive as hell! Love the review man, congrats!

To give an idea of how amazing this watch design is, I don't even like the color red at all, but found this watch to be the most strikingly beautiful watch in the entire boutique that had Omegas, Tissot's, etc. You have to see this in person.

@@tyarnold4088 It depends entirely on the lighting. In environments with no bright light sources, the dial appears almost black. In the sun, you see very bright, thin, beautiful ribbons of red. If you're in a room with several bright lights on the ceiling, then a lot will go on with different intensities of red. Because the dial changes character so much, I never get bored of looking at it. I hope you enjoy yours!

Jory, Great review. And might I add, you can never have enough divers. My favourite watch in my collection is the Aquis Clean Ocean. Much Love 💜💜💜

I love a dial with great light play. I acquired a Formex Essence 43 in green recently, and I love the way the light interacts with the dial. This cherry red dial is equally stunning. Strongly considering picking this watch up to fill the diver slot in my collection.

I love Oris watches. I have 4 and getting a 5th one.

@Carl Campbell While I agree with your sentiment to an extent, the reality is that there are plenty of us that cannot wear 38-39mm watches. They are simply too small and look ridiculous. A 43mm watch can fit a lot of wrists! A modern sub is 41mm and wears much larger than the numbers would imply. I think we all know how popular and collectible that is!

I watched this video 2-3 nights ago when I ran across your Oris review. I was looking for a while for a red dialed watch. Had decided on getting a seiko SRP853. Saw your video and loved the look. But had never considered spending that much on a watch, even though I had the means to by about any moderate Omega, Tudor, etc anytime I want. So I go to my local jeweler to get my mom a 'Thanks for 48 years' Cartier Tank solo. They didn't have it but next to the Longines I was looking at instead was the Cherry Red Oris. I asked to see it and fell in love. It now resides in my collection. Thanks for the great review! I fell in love right there and had to have it! ;-) Plus they gave me a great deal to buy it and the Longines. A video doesn't do justice the sunburst on this dial and the depth.

They should have done raised letters on the "ORIS" as supposed to an applique. Other than that it's a fine time piece. Thnx for the review.

Very nice looking! That dial color reminds me of the Orient Kamasu, love that sunburst red though I'm normally not a fan of red or other bright signal colors. That silver bezel suits it even better than the black one on the Kamasu, my new design favorite!

I’ve just purchased the same watch. It’s near enough twice what I’ve ever spent on a watch before. I was looking at the Longines Hydroconquest and the Rado Captain Cook both of which come in either side of this price wise (in the UK anyway). This is the one of the three that really wowed me. Stunning watch.

Stunning. Thinking about picking this up! Red dials are never done well and this is the exception that proves the rule

I own three Oris watches including an Aquis. They are just great! They really compete with watches twice the price. My divers 65 gets way more wrist time than my speedy for instance.

Beautiful timepiece. I have no problem with the integrated bracelet. I would also pick up the rubber strap that Oris offers.

Per Ludquist - Fine watches are not high on my priority list nowadays; however in my opinion now is the time to buy Oris and Bell and Ross before they become too expensive; US dollar value is going in the toilet.

I got a new job four years ago, and I thought I might treat myself to a new watch... an Aquis (blue dial) was my top choice for a decent new one. Well, I tried it on, it was just a tiny bit too chunky on my 7.25" wrist. It was the height that killed it really. Not ideal for a business suit+shirt However, I was impressed with the looks and it really got me into watches again. And this cherry dial does look fantastic!

Waiting for my delivery, ordered as soon as I saw it. I've been looking for a decent red dial for ages. Only concern is the 41.5mm size and really hoping a 43.5 with red isn't released later. Love the Oris blue and green dials and this looks a peach too.

I think someone in Oris saw the Orient Kamasu red dial watch and said "Let's do that!" It's a very nice looking watch but a watch should have easy strap options to give it the flexibility for different occasions. I generally stay away from integrated bracelets. It's about $500 too expensive though.

One of my favorite brands. I own the Oris Aquis Date green dial. Love it.

Hi I have the green Hangang special edition, but this cherry is so georgious. I’m speechless. Really nice red dial are not common, JLC reverso, a few Seiko and this one. After the green for every watch, starting from the hulk, the red could be the next hipe color. Very nice review, thanks

I love the sound of this company’s name, and I also love how the name looks on the watch. Don’t own one and probably never will just because I don’t spend too much on watches.

Oris makes superb tool watches in their Aquis and big crown lines!!!! One of my favorite brands.

My biggest regret in flipping watches was my oris aquis titanium small seconds. Such a solid watch. I may have to pick up one of the in house movement variants if I ever find a decent sale price. Though this red dial has me thinking.

Really nice! The dial color is beautiful, and works great with that bezel. The bracelet is unique and a nice change from the ordinary. Size is perfect, as opposed to some other Oris offerings. I do think that the case design is a swing and miss, though...to me, it appears too angular, with an almost "industrial" look. Personally, I'd have liked to see something a bit softer and more organic. Would probably be a more realistic option for many people at a lower price point as well. Thank you for a nice review!

Although I am not a fan of red dials, that is one fine looking watch. I love how it is understated, yet; not to an extreme. Very cool watch!

Jory. Interested in your opinion of the discontinued Bulova Accu Swiss line of watches.

This is a beautiful watch, the watch that got me looking or thinking about buying one was the Aquila staghorn limited edition one they had, it had a blue dial and a green somewhat around the bezel, wish that it wasn’t a limited edition cause I was saving up for one and the minute I saved enough, the staghorn sold out l, but looking into the archimede watches pretty sick history and nice retro, vintage, and classic divers watch that give a German esthetic look on the watch

Congratz on the 160K subs!! I'm one of the watch freaks who "needs" a red dial in my arsenal 😉 This one's $2,900 CAD (before taxes, shipping and import/duty fees) so it's a little too rich for my taste. However, I know you already reviewed "Islander" watches from Long Island Watche (Marc Frankel's creations). First off, you were sent the ISL-01 a while back with the 12 hrs markings on the bezel BUT I suggest you see the ISL-02 with the "real" dive bezel with minute markings ... I digress ... Secondly, all that to say; the ISL-66, "Islander Red Automatic Dive Watch" with the luminous ceramic bezel will most certainly scratch my "red-dial itch" at only $299 USD (before taxes and shipping). Thanks for sharing this version of the Oris.

I absolutely adore Oris, but I would love to see more in-house from them. I trust the Sellita SW200 wholeheartedly, but 2300 for it is steep, when I see brands like Christopher Ward offering great design with double the water resistance for less than half the price. All that said, I'll absolutely own a couple Oris one day! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new Oris Calibre 400 Jory!

Yes, many of Oris' offerings are way overpriced for what they are. No way I'm dropping $2300 on an Aquis, I don't care how sexy the dial is.

@@James2001 It's true, their prices have gotten a bit steeper than where they were 10 years ago. But, if those price enable them to produce their own movements like the calibre 110 or the new 400, I'm for it.

Don't mind the signage, but an applied logo would be nice at this pricepoint.

I 💕my Oris Aquis Clean Ocean. The blue sunburst dial is to die for, like diving into the Blue Lagoon. The Aquis is as you correctly surmise a cross between a pure tool and a design icon of jewellery. I have an itch for a red dial and I've noticed a number of mainstream and micro brands are getting on that bandwagon. Yours was the 2nd review I saw today with a red color. However, as I already have an Aquis I guess I'll pass on this one!

Just a week ago I bought a blue variant of this watch in 39.5. These watches are incredible as you said, on Sun you have every time different experience with this sunburst dial. I love it and have this on my wrist 24/7. But the red is even better :-D

@@dsdf_fdp1858 Hey man :-) Wow. it's almost a year. Yeah, I am kinda one watch guy, so I didn't get a new one or anything. My Aquis is on my wrist just right now as always. And yes I do sleep with them all the time, but I understand, that there might be a risk doing that, you might bump into something at night or so... But generally speaking, I personally don't care.They are not 10K or more of a watch. I would probably not do that with some really expensive watch. But that little Aquis is with me almost all the time. They are really, really, really nice beater to me. It reminds me they will need to go for annual service in few months. The only think I do not do with them is to take a bath or shower. But before vacation, I take them for pressure testing to swim in the ocean or pool. Enjoy your Aquis, They are simply great watches. See ya.

Do they make the cherry red in a 43mm case?

I'm starting a new chapter in my life and I would like to buy myself a nicer watch for it. I got Oris and Omega as my final 2 brands (Maybe even a Breitling Diver). Should I save money and go with Oris or spend extra on the Omega/Breitling. Any advice would be appreciated.

It looks beautiful. I wouldn't buy it personally, but it's definitely not just hype.

This particular watch looks way much better on the wrist than off it. Previously, I didn't have anything to say about the Aquis. It looked more of an effort to manufacture, but less of what came out of it. It looks much better than a Rolex on the wrist, very positively and appropriately 'blingy'. It seems that the Rolex isn't supposed to look outstanding. This is my personal opinion. My favourite watch brands are the Grand Seiko and Oris, but the Omega comes a close third.

Damn you.know there's another watch on my want list.lmao.really love the cherry dail and that color kinda reminds me of the black cherry pearl that Cadillac used on some of there cars(mainly the Fleetwoods)from the late 80s thru late 90s.i also love how they went with a silver bezel with the raised numerals.think that bezel plays extremely well with that dail and imo kinda gives the watch a bit of a luxurious look to it
