Absolutely love Oris as a brand. From a design standpoint, their watches nail it in so many different ways, and their emphasis on LEs spotlighting global NGOs makes the brand even more likeable.
Teddy you should definitely do a "Before You Buy" series for watches.

76 year old, just received my first Oris Aquis black ceramic, rubber band and very cool. So happy to have such class and quality. Great reviews, thanks.
My first ever watch as a 10 year old was an Oris. A birthday surprise! So now, at 64, I just bought my second Oris and in a sense I feel I’m turning back the hands of time.
Terrific “deep dive” into Otis, Teddy. Your followers and I benefit by the level of professionalism you devote to such subjects. And you never just rush through a video to get more “content” pushed out. I’m saving for a Diver’s collection piece since I’ll likely never SCUBA or even snorkel while wearing such a beautiful piece. Again, my thanks. I’m leavening much thanks to you.
Definitely one of my favorite watch brands! I have a 70s Oris super which my granduncle used to own until I found while clearing out my grandparent's shed. Even though it doesn't run all that reliably, I still love wearing it and it pretty much perfectly fits my small wrists. I would no doubt keep this thing running as long as I can!
Teddy I really have appreciated your videos and lack of biases. So thorough and professional. My first and so far only Oris is the Big Crown Propilot. I’ve had it for a week now and I am really enjoying it.
Seeing Teddy speak highly about Oris on many occasions was extremely helpful for me. I just bought my very first one (the Aquis Cherry) three days ago and I can already tell that this one is here for the long-haul. And I’m lucky to have an AD fairly close by, so I was able to get that positive in-person experience that I think we sometimes overlook now with the advent of online shopping.

I bought the same one a few months ago and can’t be happier. I love how Oris plays with the red color on the dial and the quality is great. Most people i see wearing a watch wear a black, green or blue watch and i really like that the red colour is something different.

@@thatmemeguy1275 red is such a nice colour yet it's so overlooked, or like you said, people usually pick the other colours. Would definitely rock an Aquis Cherry myself. Beautiful watch.

Bought it to. Love it so much ❤
Love my oris depth chronograph. It was my first big purchase watch 5 yrs ago and still wear it every day at work on the great barrier Reef as a dive instructor . Yes that's right, a dive watch that actually gets used for what it's made for and hasn't missed a beat 👍👍
Always nice to see Oris get some love. I've got a soft spot for this brand and like the look of several of their models. Their big crown's and retro dive watches are pretty much perfect but I wish they did their GMT a little bit smaller.
I love my pointer date! It is the old one, the new design is less apealing. Aquis seems the perfect tool watch, to wear during work outside the office. The diver 65 is an amzing retro-style.
Love brand overview videos like this. New to collecting- very helpful in getting a feel for the history and styles offered by a company.
love oris! bought their 40mm big crown pointer date and one of my favorite watches in my collection!
I've become a bit of a fan of Oris over the last year or so. As you say they are not afraid to go in it's own direction. I love the pointer date and for the cost it's great value for money. The Aquis is a unique design and is incredibly comfortable on the wrist with arguably some of the best executed dials around. The cal 400 is not cheap and is a significant premium over the 3rd part movements but it's an incredible introduction, 5 days juice from fully wound mainsprings (it has two of them) and 10 year service and warranty shows faith in the movement. Yes there are some quirks but nothing significant in my view. As for the lovely Atelier collection there is something about the Atelier Complication moon phase that just shines. The etched moon is not just a plain disc, the textured dial etc is in my humble opinion gorgeous. I also applaud Oris for supporting different organisations and clean up schemes. I really want to shake the hand of the Oris employee who suggested the Upcycle with every dial unique. I have one and every time it's in the wrist I think I can spot something new that I'd not noticed before.
My father’s watch was an Oris rectangular back in the 1960’s. I have it now. This watch and your passion for the brand have incline me to get a Aquis with the rubber band. Thank yoy
My first ever serious watch growing up was an Oris. 👍 Will always have a place in my heart for them.
I’m a Seiko/Citizen quartz guy but this kind of overview video is brilliant! Makes me appreciate different brand and models I wouldn’t normally. Gonna look and see how many other “brand overview” videos you have, but I’ll eat these up! Thank you.
The Aquis Cal 400 and an Artelier Skeleton were my first two mechanical Swiss made watches and love them both. Even when compared to more expensive watches I've added to my collection since. The Artelier Skeleton is an unusual pick and love how its a very unique watch in my collection amidst the more "usual suspects".
Just bought an 43.5mm Green Dial Aquis Divers Watch to add to my collection and I absolutely love this watch, the green dial stands out and I had many comments already of how beautiful the watch looks, for the price I paid it’s so worth it because you get so much watch for not crazy prices.
My first automatic was a green Diver 65. I absolutely love that watch and I still wear it regularly, even with more expensive watches in the rotation.
Divers 65 in 36mm was my first lux(semi) piece and I. Am. In. Love. Cheers to one of the best on the web, love this channel.
I just bought a divers 65 in steel/bronze with a black face and absolutely love it. I thought I was shopping for a black Bay 58 but tried the Oris on and it totally won me over. Photos absolutely do not do it justice and the bronze bezel is gorgeous.
Having Oris TT1 Chronograph in my collection. Bit bulky for some, but never got more compliments and conversation starters than with this piece(having Omega,Tags,Ball, etc). On chase to pointer day now! Beautiful solid finishing with signature red rotor. U can't go wrong
Love Oris. My fist big watch purchase was a Pro Diver Pointer Moon. Big, bold watch. My tastes have moved to smaller tool watches, but I still love that one. My go to beach vacation watch.
Absolutely one of my favorite watch brands! I've owned and adored my Oris TT Classic Date for years now. It also only has 50m water resistance but I don't need it to have more. I wear it to the office and other non active environments! Next up the Carl Brashear or the Okavango!
My first mechanical watch was an Aquis and every time i look on it I’m still in love with it.
My favourite brand by far. No other brand makes so many watches that I simply love the design language off. Aquis, Divers 65, Pro Pilot, Big crown, Pointer Date, artelier. And I love their boldness that comes from fierce independence and fantastic identity. Can’t say enough about Oris. Also a fan of Sinn.
Loved to see this kind of Brand deep dive video. Great work Teddy !! Keen to see more such brand deep dive videos right from brand history to the present brand position
Great video Teddy. Love my Oris. Bought one in the early eighties when I first started working and now have at least another six of them. Like you said, some many different varieties to choose from and the quality is great for the price
Oris is one of those brands that has (subjectively) great looking models along all their lines and keep things fresh, their releases the past 5 years have been phenomenal and really hoping they become more mainstream. Amazing value for money especially as noted by Teddy, their attention to finishing. Big fan, great video

I don't currently own a watch with a green dial and after seeing the Okavango, wow. I wonder what that looks like in person. The color and texture look amazing. I don't buy watches specifically for a dial but, that might be close to changing my mind.
you made this video at the perfect time, I'm starting to look at getting an oris mostly because they are still independent and readily available mostly.
Just picked up the Big Crown Pointer Date Roberto Clemente Edition. Got it because of you Teddy, and I love it! Thanks for all your great content!
My first Swiss was and is the 80th anniversary BCPD in bronze. You can frequently see these on the secondary market for ~$1300 and the bronze and green really look amazing together!
These videos covering brand info and not just a particular model are quite helpful.
Thanks for the video!! As always, amazingly detailed and articulate in the presentation. I first became aware of Oris in the early 2000s as a friend wore one and I loved the look and certainly the smell of that vanilla strap. Since those days I wanted one and it was you video on "why to own a watch" which set my sights on getting one. My lovely wife surprised me and we bought an Aquis 39.5 from you for my 50th birthday!! Couldn't be happier and love the watch. I have such a sentimental connection to it and your team were amazing to work with. Hoping to look at a BC at some point in the future as I'd someday like to pass one on to each of my sons. I'll without a doubt be making my purchase from you! Thanks again for the great video.

Super helpful, thank you! Bought my first ever affordable luxury watch over weekend (Oris) and watched this in retrospect. For newbie like me, really helpful.
What a great video Teddy - Very thorough and evenly balanced, like most of your posts. I love my Big Crown ProPilot for its simplicity and understated bold style. Oris does such a good job in demonstrating their company (independent) strengths and awareness of their marketplace.
Just bought their 36mm bronze big crown pointer and love it. Enjoyed learning more about their brand here.
Indeed Oris makes a statement from my point of view. I have wished this brand for such a long time and was able to have it two days ago...Oris Big Crown ProPilot in black day/date. The design of this model i bought represents my personality in a way, all the reason I had wished this design for such a long time. Thank you, Teddy for all the detailed knowledge on watches!
Bravo! I own two Oris watches, including the Aquis GMT Date you show at 3:15. It’s a terrific travel watch, and my Diver 65 has the vintage look with a modern movement. I also bought the HanGang special edition for a relative in Korea and he loves it. See an Oris on someone’s wrist and you know you’re in the company of a watch enthusiast. It’s almost like a secret handshake. It’s true the Caliber 400 movement put them into Tudor and other similar brand price ranges, but none can equal the 10 year warranty Oris offers.
Great video, TB. Thanks for the history and info!
Love Oris, and frequently recommend them to those new to the watch world and looking to get started. Personally own a Williams F1 Chrono and love it (it's my daily 'beater').

Picked up a deal for Oris Aquis Day/Date. Kind of a less popular Aquis model, but wears beautifully despite its large 45.5mm diameter. It's a big watch that doesn't wear big which I found fascinating and demonstrates Oris' case making skills. Despite being a rather less known model of Aquis, it still keeps its value very well.
I had an Oris "boy's watch" as my eighth birthday present in 1960. I own a "1917" special edition, based on a rediscovered world war one pilot watch, which I bought because several of the features were similar to my first watch. I'm very happy with it. I've been considering my next Oris for a while, but the 401s are too small for me and the Monkey King still has a Selita.
Very informative video, Teddy. The Aquis calibre 400 is an exciting prospect personally, but the more classic styles are great creations. Thanks for posting, Teddy.
Wow perfect timing! I’ve been on the fence about buying a Big Crown Pointer Date from a local second hand shop, so this helps a lot!

My husband loves his propilot. It's green and the strap is good. I bought it for our anniversary. Oris is aweome
It's already been said... But I love both the Aquis diver and the Big Crown Pointer Date. I'm going through a phase where I wish there were more watches offered with no date. The dial looks so much more symmetrical and classic with no date. The exception, for me, is the Big Crown Pointer Date. Love it. Beautiful watch.
My first diving watch was an ORIS. And i loved it.❤️
I love my ORIS 65 Diver with the blue dial. A great vintage look. My only previously owned watch.

Very cool model! Congrats!
Nice video on Oris, thanks. Iown two of them, an Aquis GMT and an Aquis Hangang,. The GMT is my daily wear. If they make a GMT with the caliber 400 movement I'll jump on it. One of my primary deciding factors on the Aquis is the pinned bracelet. I lost a favorite watch years ago due to a spring-bar failure and I would have lost another due to a bad spring-bar if it wasn't on a NATO strap. I also use the the bezel a lot and I appreciate the tight but smooth operation of the bezel. I have bezels that are too tight and too loose, the Aquis GMT is just right. And the lume is great, it lasts all night, it is easy to see in the wee hours of the morning in dim light.
Oris does deep red dials (maroons) better than just about anyone. I also appreciate that they keep their Sellita models at a respectable price point, compared to B&R, IWC, and Breitling that have off the shelf movements in the 5k range.
Wow! That Big Crown Pointer Date with the caliber 403 is absolutely gorgeous.
Great idea, plz continue this series!
Amazing watch, I bought Aquis a month ago and I am very satisfied, accuracy of 2 seconds for 5 days
Currently saving for my first luxury watch, a pointer date. Can't wait!
I have an Artelier Skeleton and it is unique in room of watches, but a little too formal if not wearing a suit. I also have a black on black Big Crown date. Also nice for a more casual dress. Both are nice to keep in the collection and wear on occaison.
I hold a few watches all the way from Citizen Signatutre Grand Classic, Mido Ocean Star Tribute, Omega Seamaster to Rolex Submarine. I'm a watch enthusiast. I finally got Oris Aquis Blue Caliber 400, the design grew on me everyday and now rest of my watches are sitting on the side. I love Oris and put on my wristeveryday. It replaced my previous everyday favorite Seamaster. Time is very precise on in-house caliber. It catches a lot of eyes. Overall, I'm very impressed and I'd like to buy more if Oris would come with cream white dial with black/navy blue accent on 43.5 mm. Oris team thanks for such a mesmerizing time piece.
I love the look of the Aquis but not its integrated bracelet. I ended up going with the Diver 65 and couldn’t be happier. Great video, Teddy. Thanks!
