Rosenburg is fascinating, because so much of what happens in the Incident is tied into him and yet what became of him after he escaped Black Mesa is a big mystery.

It's neat how his story feels complete in both expansions, but when you put them together it's more than the sum of it's parts. Rosenberg references Harold, the scientist the HECU captured in Decay. Apparently when the military arrived and tried to kill him, he went back down into the facility and united with him, Simmons, and Bennett. They were chased until Rosenberg was captured in the trainyard and rescued by Barney. Rosenberg is singularly focused on escape. His plan involves him returning to the "labs by the trainyard" Keller threatened to send him back to- I think he was threatened because he didn't agree with messing with Xen, and so he was sent to Sector C where his expertise on Xen would be useful in analyzing the results of the GG-3883 test. It seems his fatal flaw is his cowardice. He bends to Keller's authority, he hands off his teleportation research to the Lambda Labs, he is so scared by the Resonance Cascade that he makes the incident worse by involving the HECU, etc. One wonders if Rosenberg survived past Blue Shift and is still around during Half-Life 2 and the Episodes.
