All About The Favia Coral and Favites Coral and Goniastrea Coral
A great beginner coral that is really pretty and sure to catch the eye. With a choice of almost every color on the rainbow, this coral has a very vibrant touch added to your aquarium. They grow slow, but spot feeding can really help speed up that process, plus they put on a show with their stingers while they eat.

Hey! Before the video! Lol!
good corals just started placing them in my aquarium and they have beautiful colors
Thanks brock, really helpful, what's slow growing? and what's your led settings, thanks
Hey Brock, you're my new go-to for everything reef related! Ha.
Temp recommended is a little warm, 76° will give far better growth and color
what corals would you recommend for a filter feeder tank? (Not NPS, just stuff that likes when they can collect some particulate from the water, along with a few feather dusters)
I have a aquaticlife edge marine light one wifi one not wifi and a blue led light on a 55 do you think it could grow these or maybe even acros?across? And thank you so much
Brock, can different favia/favites touch or be near each other? I know favia will sting other corals.
Can a kessil a 80 grow war coral?
My war favia just started showing some white mucus on its tissue, tho this only happens at night, do you know what could be the reason?

I’ve seen really good results from them! I think it will work great
Do you have to feed every head or just one or two
@BrockLeonard

It's good to just feed as many as you can. They'll all get the nutrition at the end of the day.
I have a biocube 16 with a kessil a160 tuna blue. Tank is around 13" deep and the light is 6" above water. Will a favia be ok in the center sandbed or should I put it up higher?

How did the Favia do under the kessil? I have an a80 and want to upgrade so bad.

@THE URBAN ARTIST it did great actually. I've since upgraded my tank and light but I think it did better under the kessil

Yes yes yes!
What are the PAR numbers? I have 90 to 100 PAR at the bottom of my tank. Low to medium PAR does't give me much to work with.
@BrockLeonard

Specific par numbers, I would say 100 is perfect. Don’t go over 150 with these.

@@BrockLeonard Can I put them in a 65 Par? Is it low?
Someone sent me a small one as replacement for a wowser zoa that he forgot to send. It looks a lot like the pink one you showed. He called it a glitterbomb! I dont like brain corals or corals that have a lot of stingers and certainly dont want to take up space on my small sand bed with a stinging brain coral! LOLI also dont want it to encrust my rock! About what is the value do you think? I i wll probably get rid of it! i wll say the colors are beautiful thought and pop like crazy!

I usually see a frag of those going for about $50. More if it is a larger size!

@@BrockLeonard I was wondering because it looks like it's part of the coral...stuff came out but the second i put light on it the stuff retracted back into the side of it
