    Decided to give a bubble tip another shot. Ive had my tank a few years since my last attempt which failed. Yesterday i got a very nice bubble tip from my local store, and acclimated him over a couple of hours. My coral thrive, my parameters and lighting is great. I put him in on a rock that looked similar to that he was on at the store. Overnight while i slept, he crawled down to the subtrate, and basically died. He seems inside out and like hes already starting to decay. How did it go so south within a couple of hours when every other thing in the reef is thriving? It was seriously only a few hours

  • @neophos6027

    From my experience the Anemones we keep in our tanks wont sting you if you gently touch them. However, when stressed they will sting you not only on the ends of the tips but also through the venom in there mucus. In rarer cases when its under "extreme" trauma even just slightly touching it can cause excruciating pain. I recommend wrinse and rub the effected area under vigorous tap water immediately. They will move around the aquarium until they find a comfortable position depending on two main factors i have seen, which is flow and the shape of the rock it is attatched too. My two cents worth, cool video man 😁

    How should I located my anemone if I have corals in all my rock? You said they move around, so even if I put it in a spot were there's no corals around, the anemone eventual would move, right? I really want to add one of this but I am a little bit afraid its starts to move all around and hurt my corals.

  • @BrockLeonard

    @BrockLeonard

    4 жыл бұрын

    Davinci Reef It’s not that they will move, it’s that there is always a chance. Normally when placed in a spot they can stretch out, they’ll stay there the whole time. It’s just random for when they begin to get in the mood to move.

    Rule of thumb, if you can grow coral, you can host anemone. And its hard to say ya or no on light, because water current distortion will play a factor on that as well.

I was very scared because of the stinging and have a bunch of new corals! They seemed to find a spot right away and havnt moved much! I am glad they chose a low flow spot because they are staying pretty and bubby! Do You think it true if they are many generations of being aqua cultered that they loose their sting? It makes sense! I also wondered how big the rainbows get? I have seen them take over tanks so I dont want that especially because one is in a 36 and the other in a 201 Do they spilt and make babies or do I have to keep them together to spawn? Great video as always!

    Can I feed my corals too much? I use Oyster feast twice a week, I use Photo feast twice a week and I use Reef Roids twice a week. I basically put in one product daily alternating between the three. I turn off my protein skimmer for about an hour while feeding. I don't have too much algae growth. I'm doing weekly 20% water changes with Coral Pro salt, in an 180 gallon reef with a 20 gallon sump.

  • @BrockLeonard

    4 жыл бұрын

    M Dub You can never feed corals too much. The main concern is water quality when feeding. They’ll keep eating, but if the tank was to get worse, they would not enjoy it. But with your weekly water changes, everything should be great!

    Not a coral. Cnidaria of the order Actinidaria. Predatory invertebrates more closely related to Jellyfish. Though some coralimorphs ie: mushroom corals are more closely related. A bit further down the road are zoas and palys and protopalys.
