All About The Candy Cane Coral or Trumpet Coral

A coral that is very hardy and very pretty and great for beginners!!! Look no further than the candy cane coral. They tend to grow relatively fast too, about one new head a month. They will not sting other corals, but can be stung itself so put it somewhere safe!

@Brock Leonard I picked a 2 headed CC frag today for $5. My LFS was having a 50% off all $10 frags. So I got the CC and two mushrooms.

My first coral! Got a frag to day at my lfs for 10 bucks! Can I feed him reef roids. What is a good food tat I can feed all my corals I plan to get? Or do they all need different. I was thinking liquid so it wont be so messy. The guy at the lfs said to start with softies because I dont have to dose. I still need to do that, I amusing reef salt to start with and dosnt that have the minerals?. Please answer soon! I dont know what to do really. I suscribed to your channel and watch all your informative videos!

Karen Nation Hey Karen☺️ so reef roids is a great overall reef food because all corals will eat it. Another I’d suggest, since you’re doing softies is Oyster Feast! Spot feeding pellets is also good for growth but as long as you’re doing one of those, they will be so happy😛 thank you so much for watching my videos! Let me know if you have any other questions!

If a particular head on a candy cane is dying, frag it before it spreads to the other heads. Fragging usually saves it. But if you have other issues that are causing it to die then you need to identify and address those. Good luck

Look at the polyps on the corals near the area,if the polyps are being blown hard, that's fast flow ..if polyps are waving like hands at a music concert slow left and right ..that's moderate..if the coral moves slightly but not much ..that's low..
