+Pastor Greg Laurie God does not always heal. In my former church, there were at least 3 people who had cancer where we all as a congregation prayed for healing including the pastor. However, all 3 of them died despite our prayers for healing. My mother had cancer 36 years ago, but she was not one of the lucky ones as her cancer spread to her liver and bones. It was a very trying and traumatic time for me as I was just a very young babe in Christ at age 19 for roughly a year. I prayed for her, the church that we attended prayed for her including the pastor who personally came over and got down on his knees to pray for healing for my mother. After he prayed, he asked me and my brother if we wanted God to heal our mother and of course our answer was "YES". Then he said to us both "Have faith!" Me and my brother both had faith that God would heal our mother. However, my mother's oncologist told us that the prognosis was 4 months and I conveyed that to the pastor whose response was, "Doctors can be wrong!" However, my mother died in 2 months despite the fact that we all had faith that God was going to heal her. The doctor proved the pastor wrong. My mother had no health insurance whatsoever and we had to pay for all her medical expenses and hospital expenses all out of our own pockets from our life savings. It was the worst time of my life where I encountered some of the most cold, heartless, and insensitive people in the hospital where she died. I received no condolences from the hospital staff or from her oncologist. In fact, moments after her passing and still in tears, I was immediately and urgently summoned to the billing office where I was confronted by a very cold and heartless man who demanded to know when I was going to pay for the hospital expenses. My mother's death was also the acid test to determine what kind of people my blood relatives really are. My aunt and 2 maternal cousins acted like as if nothing happened where they did not come to my mother's wake or funeral. There was no condolences from them, no sympathy, no cards, not even a phone call. I also had other maternal relatives that acted the same way and did not attend my mother's wake or funeral. Some family, huh?! I now consider those so called "blood relatives" enemies. I will not attend their wake or funerals when they die. The worst was yet to come because several months after my mother's passing, I suddenly was struck with an OCD panic attack (obsessive compulsive disorder) that would not respond to prayers, therapy, or meds. I prayed, prayed, and prayed, but there was no response from God. I was in a LOT of pain and mental anguish. Church members prayed for me, but again there was no answer or response from God. Eventually, my church members got tired of praying for me and seeing me in the deplorable condition that I was in and basically just left me alone to suffer. That was cold and cruel of them to do that to me, especially being treated in that way by the church fellowship leader. God later dealt with that church fellowship leader as his mother also dies of liver cancer where his church totally abandoned him and gave him no support. Then he later complains to me that he got no support from his church. He got a taste of his own medicine which he deserved for his cruelty in abandoning me. He falls away from the faith and becomes apostate. The pain and mental anguish continued and finally I snapped. I concluded that God did not care and just coldly and cruelly abandoned me. I cursed God, denounced my faith, and even destroyed my Bible and lived in willful sin and apostasy for the next 9 years. I am literally a former living example of Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, Luke 8:13, and John 15:2,6. Many people with a Lordship Salvation mindset will no doubt write me off as "unsaved" because of my cursing God, denouncing my faith, and my destroying of my Bible and then living in blatant sin for the next 9 years and they will no doubt take out of context and eisegete Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, Luke 8:13 and John 15:2,6 among other passages to "prove" that I was never saved to begin with. Those with an Arminian mindset will no doubt write me off as someone who "lost his salvation" and "can't get it back." God, however, at the 9 year mark of my apostasy chastised me through a paranormal experience to bring me back to fellowship with Him. After I was chastised I initially decided to go back to my old church where I originally attended, but when I arrived there, NO ONE would say "hi" to me or even acknowledge my presence after being away for so long. The members there were very SELF-RIGHTEOUS AND BEHAVED LIKE THE PHARISEES OF JESUS TIME. I asked the girl whom I was fornicating with to marry me and she married me. God then used me as the mouthpiece to share the gospel of John 3:16 with my unsaved wife where she burst into tears when she heard it. Since I was not welcome at my old church, I decided to attend another church. My wife believed and got saved after the pastor and another brother from the new church that I attended shared the gospel again and explained God's Word to her in more detail. This was 27 years ago, but God has been gracious to us ever since.

@@wtom04 I am so sorry you went through all that heart break. I am glad to hear you came back to God and your wife was saved 27 years ago. Yahoo! Praise the Lord! Thanks for sharing, many go through this stuff and no one talks about it, neither do they know what to do or how to respond. I guess you have a heart for those who suffer like you did and you are being the change you wished you had when you walked through that awful season. We go through things that we may strengthen others. Also trials and tribulations equip us for our calling, refining us, causing us to focus more closely on what is important. God bless you for listening and getting right with God.

Tonight I had the opportunity to lead my wife through the sinner’s prayer and accept Jesus into her life! I’ve prayed for this for a long time and God told me that it would happen. Thank you Jesus for this opportunity to be a tool for my wife’s salvation!

But Paul serve as his testimony’s changed many who were lost. This change of heart in him and those he testified to him will be rewarded many times over! We were told:to him that brings one lost soul to light will be well rewarded in the eternal realm(heaven)! Praise Yahushua for paying our debts of sin!!!!

Gods plan: its appointed unto man once to die. Our death will be exactly on time. Until that appointed time no weapon formed against us will prosper. We were created for such a time as this. That being said, if someone is elderly, the very young, immune compromised or prone to sickness then STAY HOME. Let the healthy and strong still gather for prayer because that is where our power lies.

With all due respect Greg... I need to ask you and those that gave positive comments to your message... here is a few challenging questions on the healing and the sovereignty of God... 1) Did Jesus ever give a sermon on the “sovereignty of God” to the people including his private conversations with His disciples? 2) Did Jesus ever ask God the Father for permission to heal some and not others? 3) concerning Paul’s thorn did he make it clear that it was a sickness? 4) what does Matthew 8:17 and Acts 10:38 say concerning all those that came to him to be healed and delivered from demons? 5) did Jesus refer Himself more as the “Son of God” or the “Son of man”? Why is this significant? I believe the church cannot relate to him because they emphasize his divinity more that his humanity and feel that what he did is not obtainable. I’m asking these sincere questions because I grew up under the ministry of Calvary Chapel since 1980. I Love pastor Chuck’s model of ministry but unfortunately he started to wane in the area of the gifts and concentrated more on the hearing of the word only but departed from discipling people to receive their empowerment to do “the greater works” that Jesus spoke of to all those who believe in His name. After His death and resurrection Jesus pointed them to receive the third baptism before they went out to preach. Are you pointing people to receive that baptism of the Holy Spirit and training them how to do “the greater works”? Now I’m talking by experience..... I’ve been used to get people to receive their healing and had the opportunity to cast out demons. I simply obeyed the commandment in the great commission by using the “authority” given by Him before he ascended. He, Paul and other writers of the New Testament never taught to pray for the sick but with authority to heal the sick. In James it says if someone is afflicted let him pray....if they are not healed then they need to go to the elders of the church to find out why they haven’t been healed because the cross gives the church the promise to administer the power of His resurrection to receive their healing so they can get back to preaching the gospel. The key is we are to step out beyond the intellectual accent of the scriptures which I give credit to Calvary Chapel for and finally begin to practice the mandate of Mark 16:16-20. Jesus never taught that we need to wait on the sovereignty of God when He has mandated and promised our authority. Sorry for the long dissertation but I talked to too many believers that are powerless who sat under to word for many years and I was one of them.

Pastor Greg I am praying for a healing miracle for a brother in Christ who was sent home with hospice care now. Drs. can do anything else for him. I believe Jesus can heal him still and that he can continue to serve God full time and care for his wife and teen children. Please help me pray Pastor Greg; church family and followers for a healing miracle for my brother in Christ now for the glory of Jesus Christ! Amen!

Pastor Greg: What about the faith of the Roman's servant believed he would be healed by asking Jesus to heal him without Jesus going to him.

Please teach the Sabbath! He plainly states that this a sign,or mark, between He and His people!!!! If you have His sign you cannot carry the sign of the enemy ( Satan)!!! Believe His words, they are written for all who have eyes to see!! Pray for your eyes to be opened to see! Shalom ( peace) Shabbat ( the sabbath... Saturday). The week has never changed. Sunday is the first day of the week; Saturday is the seventh , the Lord’s commanded day of rest; fourth commandment. He says He never changes and we should honor the commandments forever. Praise our Lord and Savior!

Yes, well observed ...since the 1960's (& earlier?) there always is (usually 1) french stick bread in every (always brown paper) hand-held grocery bag. Also, Sidney Opera House is clearly visible from every window in every Australian (always Sidney) home, office & buildiing! And in more recent movies they pay massive homage to "the god of this world" by the overly done sick plethora of superhero movies in which they constantly promote the false need for a united NWO with only 1 strike force to protect all mankind, purely ran by the self-appointed U.S. world-police, mainly by corporate-facist techno-wizzard Iron Man aka Tony Stark the showman & genius worshiped by his followers at his own self-promoted corporate staged events where he practically dances upon the stage to massive applause & chearing like an idol as he (alwsys)anounces his plan for world prosperity & peace, ...training us to accept a single world-peace bringer aka Antichrist!

Please stop calling God's Word, "stories",

The sacred cow of healing is ' by His stripes', except that refers to healing our relationship with God. I hear all manner of convoluted made-up doctrine to promote this. But think, Jesus healed before the whipping post, and not on credit as some claim, rather by His own authority and the power of Divine love energised by Holy Spirit. Shout at stuff all you like, but only Holy Spirit can make it real. The apparent rarity of genuine healing today is, imo, directly related to the level of false teaching and songs the church clings on to (heresy, NAR etc). It's all about the condition of our heart, as God views it.
