As Darkness Covers The Land (With Greg Laurie)
You might be surprised to know that even Jesus Christ Himself at times was angry. What made Jesus angry? We’re going to look at that today. And we’re also going to look at what makes God sad. Yes, God can experience sadness just like you and I can. We’re going to see a story where Jesus shows both deep sorrow and righteous indignation.
Practical Principles
Unbelief makes God sad. Rejection of His promises makes God sad. Jesus was sad as He entered Jerusalem, openly weeping, brokenhearted. Why would He be brokenhearted during such a time of celebration? Because His ministry was almost over. Time was short and, by and large, He had been rejected. The Bible says that “He came to His own and His own received Him not.” Jesus healed their sick, raised their dead, cleansed their lepers, fed their hungry, and forgave their sins, but at this point, He’s mostly alone and rejected and He knew that one of His own disciples, Judas Iscariot, was about to betray Him.
God gets angry when we become a barrier to people coming to Christ. Jesus overturned the tables in the temple because people were being kept from worship. This was not just a random explosion of anger on the part of Jesus. This was righteous indignation.

My dad died of pancreatic cancer on March 12th. About 45 days from diagnosis. For the non-believers, they are often very afraid of dying. For my dad who was a Christian, he did not fear death. He was at peace. I am a believer; I do not grieve for him the way non-believers do when their loved ones die. There is sadness, yes; however, I know that when I die I will be in heaven and I will see my mom and dad again. Thank You, Lord, for Your gift of eternal life.

May God sustain you and comfort you. ive been there also, lost both of my parents. The Lord sustained me and yes, i grieved and still do however, the Lord sent me to do a bible study by Randy Alcorn, Heaven,,, so i went to ebay and for les than 15.oo i got the used hard cover and the bible study booklet. It was such a blessing and gave me clearity.

My dad passed away Feb 18th 2020 I miss him so much and still I cry im still broken hearted. On the 26th which is my dads birthday of this month, me and my family got some balloons and before we let go of the balloons we sang happy birthday to my dad. And we let them go. My dad was a very good godly man who enstilled the bible in me gods word, I miss my dad but I do know that my dad is kicking it in heaven having fun with no pain, when my dad was alive he was in agonizing pain, his back was broken he, had mrsa a flesh eating nasty bug. he broke his ankle, he was just miserable but he endured all the way until he died.

My condolences on your dad's passing. I lost my dad October 26th 2019. I'm getting ready to sell his house, seeing the house emptied a sadness came over me. He is with the Lord now, along with my mother who died in 2003, and my brother who died in 2005. I will be seeing them soon and what a reunion that will be and to see Jesus face to face, I can't wait. Maranatha!

With tears I share this....I was at a shopping centre today and heard a loud crash and something shattering. Being nosy, I walked towards the sound and saw some people whispering and looking back to the end of the next aisle. When I walked down that aisle, I saw that an elderly man had hit a shelf and many things had fallen to the ground and broken. He was kneeling on the floor embarrassed, frantically trying to clean up. I felt so bad for him. Every one was just standing there staring at him. So I went and knelt beside him and told him not to worry and started helping him pick up the broken pieces. After about a minute, the store manager came and knelt beside us and said, “Leave it, we will clean this up.” The man, totally embarrassed said, “I need to pay for all this.” The manager smiled, helped him to his feet and said, “No sir, we have insurance for this, you do not have to pay anything!” If you have read this far, give me another minute. Wherever you are, close your eyes, and imagine God doing the same for you! Imagine the broken pieces of your mistakes or the pieces of your broken heart from all the blows life has thrown at you all over the floor, and you’re there trying to collect all of the pieces and fix them yourself. Now imagine God comes and kneels right down beside you, smiles and says to you, “Leave it all there, I will clean this up for you.” He loves you that much and wants to put all of those pieces back together if you will let Him! With Him we have this insurance, and It’s free! All you have to do is ask Him to save you to forgive you, help you, and to heal you. He’s faithful, I promise! 📷 He did it for me! When we sleep, we wake up in heaven.
If you can listen to this and it not touch you & tear you up in some way then God help you feel the love of Jesus . This hurt me even just listening to the first half . When darkness covers the land, we're reminded of Genesis 1:2, and the chaos from which God brought order and light. We're also reminded of how sin threatens to destroy the good and order, which the Lord established (see, Genesis 7:12-8:5; Jeremiah 13:16; First Samuel 2:5; 15:11; 28:8; Second Samuel 21:10; etc. Of course the Lord repeatedly works to restore the damage and injury done by sin and rebellion, as he promised his servant Noah (Genesis 8:21-22). And John's Gospel tells us that when Judas went out to betray Jesus the son of God, "it was dark", as it was when Christ hung upon the cross (Matthew 37:45; Mark 15:33; Luke23:44), as he was paying the price for our sins, and restoring the good which his father established.

I've heard it said He said this Why have you forsaken me? Is the Father could not look upon the sins that were heaped upon His Son. He turned away for the first time in HIs life. This makes sense but what else? This is enough of an explanation.

Brother or sister, I love this verse and what Jesus said. What he meant when he said " why have you forsaken me" was coming from his human nature as well. Jesus absorbed on himself the sins of the world and since God is both loving AND just, He had to punish sin. God's wrath came upon his Son at that very moment, hence why the skies got dark and the veil was torn in two. So, Jesus felt forsaken and abandoned during this time and without the Father. He NEVER Felt that because He has ALWAYS been with the Father from the beginning of time. I think of it like this....The entire time Jesus was on earth, although he performed miracles, he lived out his human nature, limiting his divinity. This is why he always prayed and submitted Himself to the Father to show us how we should live and pray. I get goosebumps engrossing myself in the Word. I hope that makes sense and answers your question! May God bless you and the Holy Spirit lead you to all understanding!

The Way to Life is Narrow The Way to Life is narrow and few there are who find it! Few men find the Way, because so few are prepared to follow the Saviour of the world on the road that leads to eternal life. When Jesus said, “You CANNOT be my disciple unless you deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Me” He was addresing multitudes who were following Him, 2,000 years ago! Matt. 7: 13-14; Luke 14: 25 - 35; Matt: 7: 21-27 Yet, to-day millions, confess they are Christians, How many are truly prepared to obey the Lord of Glory? By truly Loving God and keeping His Commandments. “There is a way to man that seems right, But the ways thereof lead to destruction.” Proverbs. 16: 25; & 14:12; “What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, then suffers the loss of his own soul! What will a man give in exchange for his soul ?" "If we break even one Commandment, are we not guilty of breaking all. Matt. 16: 24 -27. Revelation 21: 6 - 8. James 2: If mankind would fight for ‘’Righteousness and Truth" as hard as they fight to satisfy their lusts, vanity & greed to possess the treasures of this world, A world which is passing away and the lusts of it, the whole world could be saved! Galatians 5: 19 -25. 1 John 2: 15-18; 27-28; To live and die out of Christ results in eternal damnation. But the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom For all who have faith in God, walk in Love, humility and obedience For the glory of God, through Jesus Christ our Redeemer & Savior. Psalm. 111- 10; Read Psalm 34: Why do blind men follow blindly, the sayings and doings of blind evil wicked sinful men & women? …..Matt. 15: 13 -14; “It is because they are blind and the blind deceive the blind.” No one is able to deceive the Elect, the Children of God, They know in whom they believe and where they are going. The sons of Almighty God the Father, are led by the Holy Spirit of Christ. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: Our blessed Lord Jesus is the only man ever born of a Virgin, Who knew where He had came from and where he was going This is the reason He said, “I AM THE WAY - The TRUTH and The LIFE “ And still so few truly deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him, Through His death, burial and resurrection to Eternal life! Eat the Word of God, it is Spirit & Life, and so receive great peace of mind & heart, and joy beyond human understanding! Psalm 1: Because the Word of God is Living & powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword; Piercing even to the division of soul & spirit, and of joints & marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts & intents of the heart. Hebrews 4: 12. The Old Covenant was written by the Holy Prophets for Israel, The New Covenant was written by the Holy Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists Pastors & Teachers for the perfecting of the Saints of Almighty God the Father, of Jesus Christ, Lord of Heaven & earth.. The Holy Scriptures were never written for the unredeemed heathen sinners of this world... the wicked are enemies of the Cross of Christ... Hi Greg. Only God's word is valid. To judge someone is a sin. Unless you are Jesus. Regardless of what you feel. You should never judge someone. You have. That is your sin. I pray that you see this. God loves you. As a Pastor. You have a bigger responsibility than me. Please see your sins. God does not want to see you spread the wrong word. I am a messenger.

It was Satan who condemned Jesus and dumped his wrath on Jesus, not the Father. As Jesus said "The Father judges no one." The crucifixion exposed Satan to the world and was the evidence of his unjust and cruel nature, and the cause for Satan being caste out of eternity. No loving Father would do this to his own kid, but, he may allow it if it means that it will save the rest of his kids. Jesus paid the ransom for us to Satan, not to Father (who does not hold his own kids captive). Just as Joseph suffered a life of difficulty and unfairness to save the lives of the rest of his family (who were the cause of his suffering) and everyone else in his country from famine.
Jesus knew what Satan's plan was. To get rid of Jesus thru death and how the devil used and influenced the ppl and how the Father told his son Jesus the entire thing and even at that Jesus knew that His Father was angered during this because of the sinful act of the ppl thats why everything got dark and the earthquake Jesus intercede for mankind at that point when the Father got angered.
I like Greg Laurie, But he partners with men who are sons of Satan, and this is a Fact, I dont need to list their names, Greg please think about who you walk with, many people look to you for guidance and will trust the men who you partner with, some of the pastors you walk with are not Gods servants, they are of the world, and money and fame blind there eyes.
