To the 20 people that didn't like this, I feel for your soul!!!
Jerry Douglas is guitarted. Like a savant when it comes to the resonator. Unquestionably the best on Earth...

I can't believe this legendary comment has lingered here for nine years without a reply ! ... You Sir, are truly 'com-mented' !
I'm not as steeped in blue grass as much as some. But I tell ya what, this song is flippin' amazing. Instead of country turning pop, it needs to head back in this direction!

I agree country needs to head back for sure. Seems to have lost its way.

Brian Williams Amen brother, todays so called country is nothing more than pop with a banjo
Jesus christ... As a person who has never even really considered listening to country, or country related genres, I can say this is one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen.

Because it's not about all of those bro-country topics (you know them well), and it it's played without any electric intervention.

Daniel, welcome the wonderful world of Union Station led by the lovely Alison Krauss… They are one of the best bands in the world regardless of genre. While they have some of the world's best performers in Jerry Douglas and Alison Krauss, it is their dedication to working seamlessly together to create music like no one else. If you ever get the chance to see them live absolutely take that chance as it will instantly be one of the best musical night's of your life.

@Ralph Indigo: I don't think hats have a whole hell of a lot to do with it. I've seen some damn good performers wearing old slouch hats. If you were a balding, middle aged man in front of ten-thousand people watching your every move, you'd wear a hat as well.
I've heard everything they've done. Greatest band in my 76 years in my opinion.! Went to about six of their concerts.!
if you're looking for "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn" you'll have to sit thru a beautiful six minute dobro solo. Gawd i love Jerry Douglass!
this dobro solo is absolutely arresting
When that banjo starts up and others begin I can hardly be still.
This is the first thing I listen to when I get into work every morning. It is the perfect song to get my blood pumping.
jerry is hands down the best dobro player to date
This song always kills me. It’s like the go to for people crossing music lines. So amazing.
Just heard this on Danish radio and wow.....I was almost brought to tears. Country is beautiful and this man know just how to play.
he's just playing the shit out of that dobro

The intro was so beautiful it brought to me tears, then I scroll down and see this and laughed so hard I got a headache.
I have been an avid listener of all types of music from John Denver to Heavy Metal and everything in between throughout the course of my life. I have played in a rock n roll band, played numerous instruments, DJ'd and have seen my fair share of live concerts No song, I REPEAT, NO SONG, has moved me like this tune. Goose Bumps on my Goose Bumps. The energy and talent is oh so sweet. And I have to say I'm one lucky man, My wife could be Allison's stunt double.
I could listen to this a million times, and It'd amaze me every single second.
Chef-d'œuvre ...
Go Jerry, go!
This has to be one of if not the best intros to a song of all time.
I don't know how many times I've watched/listened to this but as amazing as Jerry's playing is (off the hook amazing)... Dan's vocal is just so amazing. Total goosbumps hearing them together.
Good stuff. I listen to this CD set all the time
What a intro, what a song. All I can say is well done and thanks.
This type of dedication and effort is to much for get rich quick digital artist of today. I see the talent in the work and sweat this gentleman has put into music.Cheers to real ARTISTS
No mercy with this dobro!
The people who disliked this song above, thought they were hitting the "No ear for good music" button. At present count, two and a half people hit it twice!
I'm a breaking Benjamin and three days grace fan....love the sound of guitars. THIS WAS AMAZING! Even the fiddle/violin was INCREDIBLE! Think I'm gonna get my hands on a banjo and start some lessons!

Estupendo fantastico
double drop D
....he used a old dobro. Used to play it across his knee. I'd give ol'Curt my money. He'd play all day for me. C/S con safos
And suddenly you remember why you picked the guitar as your instrument ages ago. Time to pick it up again.
Performance and live recording don't come better than this. Daniele Roger, dobro (resonator guitar) tuning can vary a lot. The first part is in D natural minor, and the second part in D major. I'm guessing his first dobro was in D natural minor and the second (when he switches instruments) in D major. Jerry Douglas could probably tune it in B flat and still play that tune just like that. He's a master.

Little Beartoe Uh, sorry. First part in D major; second in D minor.
Oh what a shame, a 6 min dobro solo! No seriously there should be more of those!! :-)
Anyone else thinking to themselves: “Vladimir Flutin”?
Thanks nothing like hoeing 5 acres of corn lol gave you a thumbs up please return the favor
I'm ok with that.
I got it from Stones Factory Girl
@15quigles I would bet Open D (D-A-D-F#-A-D) over drop d due to it being a slide tuning.
Why do you come for me to wed?
