Align objects based on their stroke (or bounding box) in Illustrator

In this tutorial I'll be demonstrating how you can align objects in Illustrator relative to the edge of the stroke rather than the path that runs through it.
This can be accomplished either by changing the stroke alignment or by changing a setting in the Settings menu that makes it so objects align relative to their bounding box.
