With all the comments referencing Sharpe's Rifles, I'm going to have to prioritize tracking that series down.

In true Marine fashion, the Marine that somehow ended up driving the power loader every time in this mission I awarded the nickname of "Driver". As proof the universe has a sense of humor, Driver never again drove a power loader for the rest of the campaign.

I've bumped into that too. Not being able to select which marine is executing the order is a slight headache. I've had the same marine tasked with laying a mine and setting up a sentry gun, while the other three relaxed.

I understand using tab will switch the marine selected. Some tasks can only be done by one marine while others can be done by anyone. Perhaps it would be best to perform the former tasks first, followed by the second. If, for example, you have one Marine equipped with mines and you want to set up a Sentry while planting a mine, plant the mine first, then the Sentry, because you have one marine who can plant a mine while anyone can set up a Sentry.

Wasn't Jingles JUST saying in his last Aliens video that he was shouting at the screen watching someone play this and they would send all their squad to pick things up, leaving the squad completely open?

I was just thinking that myself. Criticizes (rightly) someone for focusing too much on supplies and then gets attacked multiple times while checking supplies. He also didn't really use sentry guns that much. On harder levels I found it easier to retreat along the phase cannon lines backed up by sentry guns rather than running through the middle.

He does at least recognize his error, and reasonably quickly. I get the sense that the other fella just keeps making the same mistake over and over. We’ll see if it becomes a chronic issue.

@@0megasight Yeah. Jingles does commentary in post, and he's said he is doing several of the mistakes he finds with others himself. Even if he's sometimes a bit slow on the uptake, he usually does learn, and he's not nearly as crap as he and others claim.

I really love your playthrough of this game, just because of you being such an Alien-nerd. Really enjoyable to hear you pointing out eastereggs and having a blast playing it.

What does choke point to an alien look like? They can run on ceilings, they can climb vertical walls. They can crawl through tight spaces. I don't think a canyon would even slow them down.

I'd seen so many power loaders scattered about in your previous missions and wondered if you'd ever get to use one. This episode makes me happy.

Now that I'm done with the power loader forever let's use a tool to repair it lol

Jingles, activate the turret. Jingles activate the turret! Good God man activate the damn turret! Nicely done and I think you did pick up most although if your full of med kits and your team is standing next to one with one of your marines on 75% stress pop a pill and replace it. No loss. Yes this is the one area you can't visit again. I could not understand why you hadn't activated the incinerators. I got that before the Smart Gun in my playthrough. Then you showed how much you left behind in Dead Hills. Early on Incinerators are really great as the aliens did not cross the area in flames. Later on they run right through it but it's still good for cooking eggs.

Jingles, you actually _can't_ go back to pick up those Sentry Guns. The door to the room you were trapped in is permanently closed.

Just finished the game last night. Just want to say thank you to jingles for introducing me to this game, actually one of the best I have played in a long time and I wouldn't have even heard about it if you didn't start uploading these. Thank you so much.

Jingles. Always appreciate your gameplay and narrations. As, unlike many other youtubers making similar content, you leave the fluffs in so us ordinary grunts can learn. Sometimes I even think you do it deliberately. As a mistake can teach faster than a perfect run.

We watch him for the mistakes anyway (and the commentary). LPers who cut the mistakes out are just insecure about their skill. Jingles, on the other hand, is very confident about his crap level of play. Which isn't actually crap, but it's fun to call it that.

I play wows 5 years and I have discovered Jingles thanks to that game , but in 5 years I have played 30.000 battles in game , I have 76 T10 + 13 T11 and for me there is no poit to gather T10 as SC are crap after rework , anniversary 76 SC will be crap , I very close to just abandon game , I have tried sell my account but no one buys accounts , wows loose veteran players all the time , and I have started to play more single player games , 2018-2022 I have played wows 95% time, GTAV , Stardew Valley & Fallout 4 , only 2023 I have played less wows , and I started to play other games I played Dishonored , Mad Max game , Vampyr , Jedi Fallen Order , Fallout 3,4 & NV , Metro 2033 , and thatnks to Jingles Stray & Dredge I am looking to be single player again ... and going back to your post , to matter what Jingles post , there was time i watched everything he posted and also watched older Jigles videos , but now August 2023 I have enought of WG and WOWS & WOT vidoes are not for me anymore , I turn them on when I play wows on my main screen , but I mostly listen to Jingles , I wish that Jingles diversify and post 2 videos per day Tueseday , Thursday & Friday so people who want to move from wows have alternative , because I sure that many people think like I do and , move from wows and as the same time from Jingles as 50% videos are WG videos , and Jingles audience numbers in past 3 years prove that .

Was interesting seeing some of the extreme camera zooms in this episode. As they suggest someone could tweak the game into FPS mode. As a game would probably play like garbage. But would be interesting to see all the work that's been put into the landscapes and character models.

Yea, when Im redeploying in ARC, I always zoom in and man, when you see the ground from another angle, it gives you whole new perspective. From top down view you cannot see all the terrain details, rocks, uneveness of the ground, little details etc. So sometimes when Im not detected and am just exploring level i use max zoom in to give it another dimension. I really recommend it!

For what it's worth, Jingles.. I've adapted your phrase "would you look at that! More trouble" whenever in troubleshooting in various CSR employments. And of the hundreds of calls taken, only one customer caught that it was a Jingles line😂😂

If it was me, I'd be deploying mines at my rear at choke points/hive exits, and at least one sentry when I know I've got to set something up... Fun series :) And yes Jingles, having a good weekend, thanks, same to you!

Ah, Jingles, taking Latimer *out* of therapy while saying she'll recover on in a day...because she was *in* therapy. Oh, Dear Overlord Jingles...never change. 😂

I bought the game yesterday and already am passed the missions in your videos. One thing I noted when playing is: motion trackers are insanly important when shit is about to hit the fan. Mines are great. Scavanging all the materials possible is really important as you can really use the upgrades on your marines.

Jingles, I hate the effect you have on me. I see you start a new game series and I'm always like meh. Then eight episodes in I try it again and binge watch it all. Please stop doing this to me lol

I started to really like the tech when I realised the drone could defend them in the powerloader and when they'd normally be unable to defend themselves they basically become a slightly underpowered mobile sentry

i tend to set up a wall of sentries near the arc/apc have my marines nearby it and send the drone in into areas i know there will be hibernating aliens in to draw their attention with either the noise maker, or if you have the smg on have it fire a few shots and then run away back to your defenses

I used the drone's noise maker to lure patroling enemies to the mines I laid.

and that material shortage is why I bought the revolver as last purchase of the whole set, did not see that they used their secondary weapons much, plasma beams as forcing me to switch to a secondary fer a while was my first instance that you need secondaries ( carry a body i was thinking of them as non fighting fit) and got that smart gun as a turret thing as a last equipment slot so already had the SMG

The towing vehicles where built by a firm in Leeds and had the most power to weight ratio of any wheeled vehicle of the time which taken into consideration, it weighed roughly 80 tons which most of that weight was lead ballast and has a pull a 400 ton jet.

Personally I've found that Ammo Bag is the least useful upgrade. Resourceful though? Resourceful is a life saver. I've left missions with 20 or higher ammo present carried by my squad. Sure it doesn't work this mission, no rests. But most other missions? It's brilliant.

Your gameplay certainly has improved rookie Jingles, they'll make a proper marine out of you... eventually :D

I know you're doing engagement, but use your sentries! You can set them up to cover your flank, and then set up the next position, pick up the previous sentry, and keep moving

I wouldn't worry about the lost sentry guns on the last mission. I also lost 5 and never went back to collect them, then another 10 on other missions where I couldn't easily go back. I still completed the game with over 10 spare and I never built any of my own. The problem with going back to missions to retrieve sentry guns is they will be broken so will require a tool to repair. I never found losing a tool for a sentry to be worth it, especially with my abundance of guns.

Remember Jingles . . . When your living the life of a Marine, Of any kind. It's always raining. So when it rains it pours. Welcome too the Shit Storm! MARINE ! Give it 5 mins. It is either going to lighten. Or it will Lighten up. And then suddenly, the bottom will fall out of it. And it will be blowing sideways.

All the turrets are automated big and small. But they do need the motion trackers to be work optimally or in short to be at there best they need to work with a motion censor.

18:00 NO, you don't have to unlock the smg for your marines before getting it for the drone...

Jingles, dont worry too much about those trigger complaints. As far as i've seen, perfect gameplay gets boring very quickly as you basically dont even get detected and the few fights that are scripted is ended in very short order whenever it happens. I am here watching you because your voiceovers and how you mess up and recover from it makes for good entertainment. We didnt come here for a perfect clear walkthrough

Well done Jingles, but using more flares would have made things easier!

What you do that's annoying? well in this playthrough it's moving your squad away from turrets that would protect you so you have longer to see the aliens that the turrets would have dealt with.

When you make these one playthrough and done vids for single player games, have you ever thought of editing the whole series together into a supercut when they're finished? Just a big ol' Jingles Vs Xeno marathon would take the sting off hangovers on a Sunday.

There’s really no need to take sentry guns with you for this mission cause you’re always on the move and never stay in one place too long. You’re more than welcome to if you wish.

To whom it may concern. - I'm stuck in these God forsaken canyons. My tactical commander kept sending me out alone to pick stuff up. My sentry gun is running on empty and there is no more repair kit left. I was on my last clip, when I went to pick up 10 materials right by the hive entrance. Jingles won't let me back into Otago until I've gotten the last med kit, 10 materials and a tool kit. Please oh mighty Lord of the salt mines. Pres redemption, so I can heal up and stress out. I need command points to fight my way through the next hive entrance to pick stuff up. I'm due three promotion's, when I'm back inside, but I got a bad feeling, that Jingles couldn't be bothered. Just look at S. Kurtz faith. No happy pills for her. No fast healing either. Always stuck alone in the power loader. Tactical advise: Always place sentry guns front and back before picking stuff up. Then go looting... Activate redemption just before the dust off. Does wonders for the teams health and stress levels.

Tragically, none of the gun store owners I've asked ever seem to get people asking about fictional guns. No requests for phased plasma rifles, Callahan full-bore auto-locks, E-11 carbines, M6D pistols - nothing like that. I'm a bit disappointed.

*says can have 1 marine pick things up and 2 fight then procedes to have all 3 pick stuff up and keeps geting swarmed while doing it*

Oh Jingles, you left one sentry there and a plenty of staff 😢 this is killing me (but just because I MuST pick up everything)

It seems like he's burning through materials faster than he's picking them up. 😂 It also helps to rescue as many survivors as possible, picking up doctors and engineers from deployments and events. I'm up to 6 engineers and the material production adds up quickly when I'm not spending them on upgrades for marines. Any marines with negative traits except for Unfit and Weak is put into intensive training until I can get the Redemption perk and I don't buy any upgrades for them until they do get the perk because I have set up two squads on rotation. I'm able to manage the squad's health so the Unfit trait isn't much of an issue and there's usually plenty of ammo lying about the maps and the ammo pouch upgrade to offset the Weak trait on the marines that do have it.

@@hawkeye5955 Yea I must agree with you! I consider the one trait which "heals" 10 stress less a good one too, i usually manage my stress levels really good, for me its important. Looting the whole map, having the whole map covered with motion sensors so I cannot get ambushed, placing a few mines here and there, especially nearby hive entrances and narrow corridors and I aim for class specific upgrades and then pouches and extended mags, that combined with +1 ammo after a rest is really usefull and having "tank" with bravery, endurance and 20% more shells in a mag is amazing. Sometimes I know I should really end the deployment, but I am unable to if I have anything left to do, such as secondaries or datapads... And I know it would be only a waste of day to go back. So I sometimes go to extreme measures, but I havent lost a single marine yet. But I must confess, its my first run-through and I play it on story diff. But even that seems to be very hard sometimes, like, honestly, I had to load a save 2 times because I really screwed up. Im planning on giving it another go on hard after I finish it, but I dont believe myself :D And a tip from me (if you have any tips, share with me

How Sentry guns are used and unused, that is hard to watch sometimes. Still it is an enjoyable series to watch.

They are only roughly terraformed Rocks. The atmosphere IS Made breathable and thats IT. Hadleys Hope in Aliens would have been greener say twenty to a hundred years in the Future but i doubt IT. Probably Just wreaked by storms because the Wind patterns and climate IS smashed Out of wack do to the terraforming. This world seems mainly Mining so why vorher doing more than to make IT cheaper to Work there? You poluting the hell Out of the place anyway. Most colonies are Just meant for the extraction of resources and Not really for living. The few that allready Support Life would be a hiveworld in No time so Most Plots would Not make Sense to Set them there(" Last week a cargoship crashed in the southern Hemisphäre. Now Something what Looks Like an avalanche of Giant Ants IS coming in our direction")

As you observe, part of it is that they're referencing the scenery from the first two movies, which was intended to be spooky and threatening. As for the larger question of why those were stark, craggy wastelands, it was because LV426 was a lifeless rock with no indigenous life in the first film, so it's not unreasonable that the terrain would be a bit Mars-like. In the second film, the planet - by then renamed 'Acheron' - was "habitable" (in the sense of "won't immediately kill an unprotected human") because Weyland-Yutani had spent several decades terraforming the planet - but the process had only gotten as far as providing a breathable atmosphere by the events of the film, and still had generations of work to go. Presumably, the gloomy darkness during the day at Hadley's Hope was due to the thick, turbulent cloud cover as the planet sorted out what to do with its new atmosphere.

that final time limits the only reason i havent got this game, i hate when games about resource building and progression like this put you on a timer

Latest update lets you to disable this timer, but I think you don't get Steam achievements then.

What gets my jimmies is the unneccessary wasting of commamd points when there is only 2 small xenos running at your very badass marines. Also you dont look at your map nearly enogh. The map shows you all the loot in the explored area of the map.

For someone who's always commenting on the inability of WoT/WoWS players to read the map, he sure doesn't seem to use it much.

Wherein Lieutenant “How many *combat* drops?” Jingles doesn’t start out using flares or motion trackers to help his sentry guns & auto-turrets keep the assaulting aliens at a safer distance from his poor beleaguered Colonial Marines. Is he secretly working for Weyland-Yutani? 😂

If you're topped out on med kits & you come across one on the ground, use one to heal or destress a marine, then pick up the med kit on the ground. Of your marines need attention & you're passing over med kits, you're wasting an opportunity.
