I actually really liked it. Surprisingly original.

"I've seen this movie, the black dude dies first. YOU snag it" - Harry. "Gimme back my friend you big sphincter!!" - Ira. I love Evolution haha, absolutely MUST see on Netflix. Also it's a tragedy Battle Los Angeles doesn't make these lists, it has a lot of realism in the respect it shows what our military engaging an invader would really look like. Street by street, urban warfare with a superior yet not invincible force while trying to safeguard civilians. That movie deserves a sequel.

Tagedy, no. But battle:la is awesome.

Ive watched Evolution over and over, for years. Its has its funny moments. Its a good movie to me. The movies on this list are ok at best. Nothing too good about them but they are watchable and entertaining enough, if you watch them with an open mind.

The original script was a horror movie. The way the studio screwed with this production is the stuff of legends.

A good friend of mine wrote and directed Revolt. So cool to see it on this list!!! I just forwarded him the link to this video.

I watched the signal around the time it first came out and since, I’ve always felt like it was underrated!

Love the timebar separations! All videos should offer this great service!

Loved *Extinction.* Didn't get on with *The Signal* or *Beyond Skyline,* which in isolation was an OK film, but it wasn't a good sequel to Skyline.

Oh man, Extinction was so stinkin good. I can't tell you the last time I've seen a sci-fi movie that was that good. Well written, fantastic dialogue, great acting, and excellent cinematography. You need to watch that movie

I've always loved Evolution, I'm surprised so many people I know have never heard of it! "Fruit basket for General Woodman"! The same for Cloverfield, which I think is one of the best executions of a 'found footage' film.

Cloverfield was quite boring in the end, but sorta okay in the found-footage genre.

Under the Skin was so GREAT! I watched it not knowing anything at all about the main character so it was quite dramatic when it her true nature is finally revealed. LOVED IT.

When you say "original" I hope you are speaking of the 1951 movie and not that 2008 Keanu Reeves movie, but the original was about nuclear weapons, while the newer one is about climate change, which is probably more apt for today.

I loved the one where almost everyone in LA gets sucked into an alien spaceship. Please ask them to do SF and NYC next!

I got The Signal on Blu Ray and it was amazing. Watched it with a friend and we got heavy Chronicle vibes from it. Great fun movie.

It’s weird that Evolution got a kids cartoon series spinoff. Cool theme, as well.

I remember them advertising the hell out of that film in the Summer of 2001. You couldn't escape it and it turned out to be terrible. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was the worst thing to happen that year.

I just watched "The Signal" and it was awesome!

I love this movie... the Signal. The Dubstep Jellyfish at the end.... its epic! But seriously, if you want to explore the question of making efforts for CONTACTING ALIENS, YOU have to read THE THREE BODY PROBLEM by CIXIN LIU... the whole trilogy is the best discussion of the subject anywhere.

Now I got some decent looking movies to watch for a couple days 👍

Was not expecting to see Evolution on this list, lol...required viewing indeed!

So glad you included Evolution in this mix. My family loves this movie and we own the DVD! It was one my kids watched weekly and can quote almost every line. Orlando Jones and David Duchovny are great, but Sean William Scott stole this movie. All these movies are very good, though. Love a good SF/Alien flick.

The Endless needs to be on this list.

Lawrence Fishburne is in signal, under the skin was actually worth it as it gives you just enough to let your brain do the work.

In extinction he wasn't getting visions or premonitions - he was getting fragments of a memory of the past that had been erased. He wasn't seeing the future - he was having anxiety because of the past. Given the state of things he may have been having these episodes his entire life... until it actually happened a 2nd time (when the others returned to earth).

Because of this vid, I just watched "The Signal." Very good!

Occupation was horrible - tonally incoherent and by the end, nothing more than Red Dawn (the newer one) with aliens (who have are more humane than the humans) instead of North Koreans. Extinction was nifty, but it's the sort of one-and-done movie, since once you know the twist, watching it again is kind of meh. The found footage one set in the UK was pretty good, but the budget really hampered its ability to do much. It did make it more clausterphobic. Also, pretty much every rapist that ever existed seems to be crossing paths with these girls for the whole movie. Beyond Skyline was my favourite: cheesy enough to be fun, internally consistent in a way a film with a lot of rewrites can't be, whole chunks of the cast getting written out makes the stakes feel real for most of the film, and it ends on an interesting premise that I wouldn't mind seeing as a web series or cable tv show.

@@TheBahamaat I agree on Extinction. It does not do enough to hint at the twist to justify watching it multiple times. It is worth a single watch for the twist. The main actors doesn't really have dramatic chops, and should stick to comedy.

I saw the signal and it was different and ok just wish there was more of it or at least a sequel. Reminded me of an episode of the Outer Limits from the 90's titled Feasibility Study, a 98 movie called Dark City, and even an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation called The Best of Both Worlds part 1.

Whenever I watch these lists of movies "on Netflix", I get the feeling that other people's Netflix is hugely different from mine. 80% of those titles are not available on my Netflix. =/

If we cannot see it we assume it does not exist , to assume is a uninformed opinion based on zero information ! We live in a weird universe , our textbooks are wrong on many things and they know it ! Revolt was "decent" only in the sense that it was clearly a low budget film that had a number of plot holes, but was still fairly entertaining.

Idk if they were on Netflix but War of the worlds by Spielberg & then 10 cloverfield lane & The Invasion , were like 3 of my favorite alien invasion movies ever. In the alien genre starship troopers is also one of the best.

The signal. One of those movies that might be too predictable to you but you'll have fun along the way. Highly recommend it for a Netflix movie

The Signal was such a phenomenal film. On the surface it looks like it's going to be derivative trash but that could not be further from the truth. A thrilling mind bender of a movie.

There was another with Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Raynolds in space called Life. You should give it a try.

That Lawrence Fishburne movie was low budget, but, it had one hell of a twisted ending! 2 thumbs up!

The signal is the only one I’ve seen. It’s a good “Netflix movie”. It won’t knock your sockets off but you’ll be entertained imo or atleast I was.

liltunechi4 I’ve seen extinction and revolt. Revolt is god awful, really really bad ending and iffy acting. Extinction is a huge meh. Interesting concept but didn’t really feel like it worked. It was very underwhelming and it’s attempt to feel weird and unusual kinda failed miserably.
