I just realized that the baby photographed with the group of the cover of BDB is now over 50 years old! Would have been fun to have that baby depicted at his/her current age on the cover art for the 50th anniversary edition.

Ha! Yeah, that would be interesting. Unlike the Nirvana Nevermind baby, this one has been relatively quiet. The baby would be around my age (a little older) - I turned 50 in October.

Not to be a downer, but in an Alice Cooper documentary they explained that the baby died very young. The baby in the picture was Lola Pfeiffer, daughter of Carolyn Pfeiffer, who handled the bands public relations in the UK.

the Ace Frehley album was produced by Steve from band trixter, and longtime fan of kiss and Ace. He talked about in an interview "keeping Ace focused and promised him it would be the best solo album he made since 78" and delivered 100%... key standouts "in the skies" and "blinded"...great CLASSIC ACE!!! : )

I still have my original copy of Babies, purchased in 1973 when I was a high school sophomore. My, how time flys. The only issue mine has is that the perforated trading card sheet has separated from the surrounding cardboard from years of handling.

I love it when they plough so much detail into the deluxe editions. New pictures and extra info is great for the fan but the one thing I have noticed is that some of the reproduced pictures are now digital and they are sometimes not so sharp and clear as the originals. That aside I think they are great ! Have a great weekend Frank

Happy Friday Frank. Definitely grabbing the Alice after seeing your review. Couldn't find Ace here in Mississauga and Amazon didn't honor my vinyl preorder. Loving it on spotify-even with its flaws.I did get the Bob Deal album. While it's more Micks:AM than 8 Mars blues, I do enjoy its tone and sound, a very easy Friday listen. Check out the last track LA Noir the instrumental-excellent. One cool note about the vinyl, mine was not advertised as limited but arrived Clear. Mick was famously asked his "favorite color" for a Metal Edge mag article back in the early days and answered "clear"-a great nod to the past! 🤘

Ace's vocals are definitely pitch corrected. So... No it's not auto tune. But just about every single song that is put out today is pitch corrected. His vocals are also doubled, tripled and quadrupled in some spots, but that's always been done. My thoughts are that his vocals should be dialed down a bit. I think they're too loud in the mix. It's a good album. I like is better than most of his recent stuff. I understand that it's obvious that the songs are co written. I'm my opinion that's also a good thing. His other recent albums haven't done much for me.

What planet is Mick Mars on ? All he had to do was use Corabi and make an insane follow up to the self titled Crue album and he would be just fine .. instead we get an unrecognizable metal album with literally no hooks . If you wanted to get back at the Crüe, all you had to do was find another singer who sounds like Vince Neil and just make us a killer sick Mötley Crüe album …instead, we get this mess of an album that just is not acceptable for such an awesome guitar player from the 80s.

I’ve been a Kiss fan for 40+ years. I’ve supported Ace and bought everything he’s done, even albums I haven’t cared for. Same experience as Frank, all his albums have been sitting on my shelf for years. But I can’t buy this, this is a bridge too far. It’s a Steve Brown solo record with Ace guesting and with Ace’s branding on it. It’s a lock for worst vocal performance of 2024. I’ve streamed it 10 times on tidal and each time, I can’t wait for it to finish. And I don’t buy the age thing. Oh Ace is in his 70s, you can’t expect much. Tell that to The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper and Judas Priest, who have all put out bangers. Hurts my heart to say all this, but this is dreadful.
