@@tonyburrows1346I think Muscle Of Love only pales in comparison to the other monster LPs. Take those away and it’s a strong album in its own right.

As much as I love Billion Dollar Babies, Killer has always been my fave Alice Cooper album.. great Unboxing as always! Thanks
You just don't get the same feeling with a new CD as you did when you got a vinyl album back in the day. Although there's extra stuff on this offering, the original was a gatefold, with the billion dollar note and the press out cards cardboard inner with the lyrics one side and pic of the band on the other. How can it be 50 years since I first got this album? I can't imagine how many times I've listened to it. Amazing album by an amazing band. I'm going to listen to it yet again right now. I was 13 when this came out, my mum was horrified at the lyrics to I Love The Dead. If course that just made me like it all the more. Great review on this.
A landmark album and one that had a huge impact on us as sophomores in high school. I also have the CD version on order and, after hearing your fantastic review of the sound quality, I am even more eagerly anticipating its arrival. I saw Alice on the "School's Out" and "BDB" tours, and both shows were amazing! As youngsters, we had heard about the "Killer" tour, and could not wait to see what, if anything different, they'd come up with for subsequent shows. The "School's Out" Tour was only the 3rd concert I had ever attended at that point in life, and we all exited the performance with similar amazement and facial expressions as we did the first time seeing the film, "The Exorcist", just 8 months later. I don't believe there was a track on the album we didn't love, although I wasn't big on the 'La da da dada' within "Generation Landslide", although the rest of the song was great. The live performances of "Unfinished Sweet" and "I Love the Dead" were amazing! That LP package looks fantastic, but I've put the brakes on collecting vinyl, while I remain in the process of selling my collection. It is a sad yet surprisingly fun retirement project. Just a few thousand more to go. I have the recent remasters for "Killer", and "School's Out", so this one will be oh so welcome!! Thanks for a great "unpackaging" and fabulous review of this long awaited set.
That awful realisation it was 50 years ago I carried this home under my arm... Still a great album!

I remember carrying it home as well. Man, where did the time go? All these 50th anniversary editions are like being slapped upside the face over and over again, just about the time you've put it out of your mind.

50 damn years. I'm not sure I've ever been as excited since first getting this album.
I bought this album when it first came out in '73 when I was 16. This album and Killer, my two favorite Cooper albums. Very nice review by the way, I'll be getting the cd version for sure, maybe down the line the album version also.
Love to have that if only for the live set. Saw Alice a few days earlier on April 22 in Jacksonville. Easter Sunday no less. We were right up front. Great show!!!
It looks really classy. An excellent companion to Killer and School’s Out. I don’t collect vinyl but I do love watching your unboxings. I wanna know what I’m missing out on. 👍
Listened to that album alot. Billion Dollar Babies Alice Cooper was my very first concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia Pa. Too young to drive. My parents thought I was going to see a nice lady singer!

Got BDB in March, 1973. Funny thing is - I only found out Alice was not a nice lady singer in August, 1972...thanks to my hipper south Philly cousins. Ran out & bought SCHOOL'S OUT when I saw the group on their copy of CIRCUS magazine.
The finest from the Alice Cooper Group.
First time I heard this I was 10 yrs. old, a cousin had it on an 8-track player in his Chevy van. I was hooked! The original band was the best!!!
It's my favorite Alice album....and has never really left my personal rotation. I think as a performing band, they were one of the tightest of the 70's....very underrated.
First full album I ever listened to way way back. And it was on reel to reel.
Always loved this album. So good that Alice is still going strong today.
That looks beautiful Barry. Will definitely be getting the 2CD version. This band had it all and I so wish they could've kept it going a while longer. It's hard to capture in words just how good they were.
Such a great album in every way. It was on my brother's turntable growing up, sound coming from his homemade speakers and great visuals from the album cover and a giant poster hanging over the bed of Alice in concert with his snake.
I picked this up yesterday. Did not even know Alice Cooper was being remastered. It sounds great. What I really want are remasters of Welcome To My Nightmare, Got to Hell and From the Inside, which I think is the best work.
'Elected' is among the best rock vocals of all time. Alice at his best.
Ordered . Been waiting for this one since 2014 when I got back into vinyl. Still have my original bought in 74.
Absolutely love this album, head and shoulders my favourite Alice Cooper album. Vinyl edition on order so looking forward to next Friday. It looks a superb package and thanks for posting this unboxing video.
Indeed a great album. Their best!
Good point about how tight the original band was. Elton said the same thing when he saw them at the Hollywood Bowl. I’m glad that they’ve been involved in these reissues.

It’s cool that Alice and band still work with each other, they were fantastic. I think they are underrated as everything was in service of the music, no showboat solos etc.

@@slidetek It’s a testament to their friendship that it’s overridden some of their professional issues. By all accounts, Alice going solo was a bit of a shock for them.
Great review Barry👍One of my favourite albums from the 70s produced by the great Bob Ezrin...I remember meeting Donovan (Leitch) a few years ago and asking him about his 'Soprano' styled vocals on the title track to which he laughed and gave me a rendition 😂 Only found out recently Hello Hooray was a Judy Collins cover.
Probably my favourite Alice Cooper album and era. 🎶
school's out is coopers best album by far, i think. so good ~
Very cool item. Alice was my very first concert back in June of 1978. The Spectrum, Philadelphia. The opening act was Blondie. It was a great way to start exploring live music but a very tough act to follow.
Most definitely buying the vinyl version! I have the original version, so might as well have the 50th Anniversary! Thanks for the review!!!
Excellent unpacking & album review. I bought this in 1973 (aged 13) & still have the album today! I’ve pre ordered the CD version as I was very pleased with the sound quality of the recent Killer & Schools Out album remasters. I’m surprised we haven’t had a release of Love it to Death as it’s such a classic album but no doubt there’s probably a reason for this🤔 Btw you mentioned the NME flexi disc and I’m pretty sure somewhere in my loft I may still have this. Where did 50years go😳
A great album although for some weird reason I've always preferred "Muscle Of Love". Barry, you're going to cost mea fortune with all these new releases I want to get! 🤣😂🤑
I am a big fan of Alice- and have preordered the album. It is one of the best albums ever. My favorite song depends on mode- but Generation landslide is fantastic! listen to the word! But- this album also as a whole- the atmosphere crated! Thanks for a good and interesting review- I see forward to listen to the live records.
Thanks! Just pre-ordered the CD version. Saw him about 1970 at Lehigh University (Love it to Death), and then about 1972 Oklahoma (Billion Dollar Babies). Both of those plus Killer are favorites.
My favourite Alice Cooper Group album.

One of the great American rock bands for certain. That band created a who new dimension in rock...certainly in terms of presentation, lyrics, vocal style and attitude.
Great review, love the t shirt.
This is one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums, so I will definitely be buying that LP even though I don’t possess a phonograph! I know it sounds crazy, but the artwork, the liner notes and the album jacket are really what I am buying it for. Back in the old days, that was one of the main draws of buying a record - the album art. I will prob be buying it on CD as well.
Hah- ha... "I Love the Dead," too. Great album with a cameo by Donavon on BDB. Peace on earth.
Such a great album. I still remember playing it at a friend's house back in the day...I was blown away by how good it was. I also have a recording of a fantastic live version of I'm eighteen...and wonder if it's the same one as it has a great lead guitar solo. Fifty years.....goodness me!
Good Morning Sir!! looking forward to hearing this. Will be buying it after work 😃

This is a great album with a great review. I love your hearing your point of view. I like the way you articulate and cover all the details on the album package. Just because I have your back. I wanted to point out that when you encourage people to subscribe and say "Like Steven Tyler said "Don't Want A Miss Thing" like a quote, it was a song that was a big hit for Aerosmith but written by Diane Warren. Keep that in mind in case you thought you were quoting Steven's lyrics. Have a great day!!

Fantastic album 👍🤘
I remember being in 4th grade and drawing alice Cooper pictures and beheading stuff and crazy crap...4th grade??? Im absolutely ok with the fact im demented!!! There was no other way.
I first heard BDB in 1974, and Generation Landslide blew me away! The harp solo (along with Deep Purple's "Lazy") was one of my main inspirations for learning how to play. 20 years ago we lived in Seattle, and my wife's best friend was the daughter of Rockin' Reggie, who co-wrote the title track.
This looks fantastic! I can hardly wait. Pre-ordered! Your "I love the dead," pun made me snort. What can I say? I'm easily amused.
This is another one I foolishly gave away back in the '90s when I was more into classical music and CDs and cleared out half my vinyl.
I have ordered both. Beyond excited!!
I have the vinyl version pre ordered. I'm so looking forward to getting it. I have 2 copies of this album, 1 70s copy that I bought in the mid 70s but the cover is split in 2 and the vinyl is quite damaged by being played on some dodgy equipment from that time. The other copy is a later copy with a lot of surface noise that sounds flat. I genuinely can't wait as this is my favourite Alice Cooper album. I love your videos and your presenting style and I look forward to the next one.
This is probably my favourite Alice Cooper Group album, closely followed by Killer. I think the sound and production are both fantastic for 1973. I remember the free flexi disc that the NME gave away with each copy, which had snippets of tracks from the album and Slick Black Limousine. I’ll definitely be investing in the new remastered vinyl release.
I listened to this today while putting up a batch of beer.
I will definitely be buying the CD if Slick Black Limousine is on it, I played this album to death when it came out all those years ago I think Generation Landslide is an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for a great review. ⚡️
A constructive comment about poly liners .They used to get statically charged easily and attracted dust which actually did more harm than good.Dont worry I have grabbed my coat and leaving.I did see Cooper in Brum in the 80,s and his stage set was very different to say the least.
Another classic from Alice.
Love this album. My first album purchase with my own money in 1975. $4.98 Canadian! Drove my folks nuts I'm sure.😂
Generation Landslide is awesome.
My first album I bought. Amazing album.
Will be getting the double cd! Love that the money bill is back!
One of the first four albums I bought as a teenager. Still have the dollar bill. Very tempted to buy the new one. Thanks for showing it off.
Loved the I love the dead pun
Rhino has really been nailing these rereleases. The Cars and Alice Cooper releases have been excellent, great mixes and quiet vinyl. The sleeve on this one looks to be the best yet, the dye cut embossed wallet with spot varnish is chef’s kiss! Yes, I preordered and can hardly wait! I always replace the inner sleeves with MoFi types, but that’s my one ding on Rhino, many don’t want to have to make the additional investment - but necessary with paper only sleeves. Thanks for the review!

Paper sleeves have been fine for me for over 5 decades. Dont overthink it. I have albums that I bought 50 years ago and have been played over and over and stored in paper sleeves- they are fine
Good pun 'i love the dead' 😏
Love the album Billion Dollar Babies but I think Killer is their best. IMO
Great work! love your postings! I am reuniting the original group- Alice, Michael, Dennis and Neal Wednesday, March 6th at 7pm Eastern Time on The Rock N Roll Channel on TalkShopLive
They seemed to skimp on the 2 grey inner sleeves. Such a visual group, there was so much material available.
not an Alice Cooper fan but that's a lovely product and love the billion dollar note
I am an Alice Cooper fan. Hopefully someone will surprise me for my birthday and get me a copy of this .
It looks exactly like the original one i have lol
I have several versions of this album, so for this latest release I picked up just the digital-download version.
It certainly look like a fantastic package! 10/10. Cheers
Got BDB for my birthe in March, 1973. Still have it. I know (from many YT vids) a lot of you guys rank this as #1 for the AC Group...it's a #4 for me. By this time, the mystery & the macabre were coming off. They became more mainstream about this time. My friend's kid sister's teen magazines had profiles on Alice & the guys. "Generation Landslide" is great. "No More Mr. Nice Guy" is a great Pop song. "Raped & Freezin'" is cool. "BDB" rocks. I dunno, the rest is kinda fluff for the stage show. :-)
Got the original and Billion Dollar Babies vinyl was his best. Also got the CD version amazing.
I saw Alice Cooper with a good friend my senior year in high school in metro Detroit area at Cobo Hall, downtown in 1973. Guillotine, snake (large) and all kinds of theatrics were in play here. The sound was incredible. What a night it was 50 years ago in high school!

On order would like to see an anniversary remaster of love it to death as well another AC classic that needs the same treatment.
The remaster 2001 is great,i hope a love it to death deluxe
Well , finally the Billion or better Trillion in the house . The negative of all of them : the sleeves are not anti-static and just plain paper which is not acceptable in my opinion , so already changed that . Ah , yes , the baby on the sleeve is just a sticker and not embossed as the original was . Why not ? as the rest of the sleeve is embossed.
I had the original vinyl, and the NME flexi disc but why the red logo on the WB labels ?
Damn...think I want it. Was resisting.
I think it's his (their?) strongest album.
I will be curious to see if this version sounds better than the 30th anniversary. I really liked the remasters of Killer and School's Out last year.
They should also do muscle of love another fabulous album!

I loved that as well😀
Since this is essentially what was previously put out, this is a little less exciting than School's Out and Killer. Couple of extra live tracks, and four single edits are all that's new, other than the packaging.
I'll probably buy it, would rather not get the extra LP'S and pay less, or pay the same and get a ½ speed remastered, 45 RPM 2 LP a la Analog Productions issue.
Does it give a date or dates on the Live Tracks?

Ah, April 28. So it's one of the two Show they plucked the Songs from for the 2001 Issue. Well, I think I'll pass on this one.
🤑
I'm a huge fan of the Coop, but honestly this reissue is a bit of a disappointment. They couldn't dig up any additional demos or out-takes? I find that hard to believe. It's things like that that make a reissue feel like a soulless cash-grab.
Alice is a top 10 for me, but this is a bit of an oops for me. I have all of the colored vinyl releases, but I did miss the green version of this LP from a few years ago I do own the deluxe version from the early 2000s and that does just fine not enough here to really get me too excited unfortunately.
so annoying - I had a number of AC first UK pressing albums but gave them all away except for Schools Out with the fold out desk and, erm panties!
Alice Cooper was never anything more than an amusing novelty act. Like the Wurzels or Clive Dunn.
No Alice Cooper shirt? Dude.
I bought this album first time around. I was 14. Even then I thought it was - when compared to David Bowie or even Elton John - gimmicky and, in fact, ridiculous. This, along with David Bowie's She Shook Me Cold, was what drove me away from pop, and towards Led Zeppelin.
I dont get the love for that album Muscle Of Love, Love It To Death and Killer are the 3 essential Alice Cooper Band albums.
But you don’t own a turntable so can’t talk about the sound quality, the pressing quality or the mastering. Very misleading.
No more Mr Nice Guy is good, but the rest of Billion Dollar Babies is not. Love it to Death and Killers are excellent albums but other than a few songs scattered about the rest of Alice Cooper's catalog is not very good.
Great album, one of my all-time favorites.
