When I saw her I was like "yes that's a perfect cast!" Anya is so odd yet beautiful. Perfect for such an alien character.

Not exactly St Alia of the Knife considering the story was changed and Paul was played to the execution of Baron Harkonnen. Also leaves a bit of an issue with the Abomination of Alia by Baron Harkonnen in Children doesnt it?

I was already excited for this movie more than any other, but as soon as I heard that Anya Taylor Joy was making in a cameo appearance in it, my excitement shot through the roof. I can't wait to see her in Dube: Messiah.

Great casting. She is a bit old for that role even for Messiah but Alia is not an ordinary human or a wild, brutish and creepy horror movie girl. She is an uncanny and terrifying yet charming and elegant human-goddess. A mature and experienced actress is needed. I hope DV will not dissappoint the audience. Because not using the great opportunity of Anya and Dune Messiah's Saint Alia can well be a massive downfall. Think about your reputation DV! Do not take unneccessary risks! Just shake hands with Anya again and never lose her.

I was *NOT* prepared for Anya Taylor Joy's cameo! And I can't wait to see St Alia of the Knife, who I think is one of the most tragic characters in the book. Your edit really did her justice here!

A pity Alia was not actually in the movie, but I eagerly expect her in Messiah. I love Alia.

I love the end, like a normal family: Alia: Mom wheres Paul? Lady Jessica: Attacking the Great Houses. Now finish your lunch and then you can go help him, Gurney, Stilgar and the rest.

It's a shame Denis won't do Children of Dune. Alia's arc in it is so bloody tragic.

Cant wait to see young Sheldon in a venom suit wave Anya Taylor Joy around a room by her ankles.

Overall, that was.....very entertaining. I know we will see more of her in Dune 3. But unfortunately, it will be a long time before that happens.

I really love how they handled talking with the unborn infant.

I really miss when Paul killed Feyd and then yelled and smashed the palace floor (without the weirding module) like the 1984 version. It was so cool. Paul could kill with a word.

Anya doesn't convince me for that role. Someone younger would have been preferable perhaps, although not as well known: Angourie Rice (Mare of Easttown), for example.

@@avarielle1582 the actress wont act like how she acts in real life, she’ll act like some ancient force within a human host. A force which houses a community of humans which allow the host to understand humans better than anyone.

Her looks literally freak me out, hard to see her in the role. Her selection is more likely the result of Hollywood trying to groom another starlet with the public. Daniella Armavia was better looking and overplayed the role as adult Alia. Alicia Witt was probably the most convincing and tense as a young Alia.

@@avarielle1582 Film is a visual media, not tactile or olfactory. You watch it. The look the character is given reinforces the scene; this one has already had visible alterations and She hasnt even hit thirty years old. She has altered her cinematic presence and isnt film worthy.
