Amazingly, two of these actresses are still alive in 2023. Tippi Hedren is 93. Eva Marie Saint was born on Independence Day in 1924. She'll be 99 in July. Pat Hitchcock died a little over one year ago at age 93.

It's amazing how a handful of Hitch's leading ladies are still living - Eva Marie Saint, Tippi Hedren, Kim Novak, Vera Miles, Doris Day, Julie Andrews.

Tippi appeared at Hitchcocks AFI awards and went to his funeral. Kim Novak has spoken up in defence of Hitchcock stating he was a pure gent and she never saw him behave in a neg way and if she had heard about it back then, she would have known. Eva Marie Saint and Doris Day adored him.. Several years after Marnie, Frenzy was made, Barbara Leigh Hunt the star speaks highly of Hitchcock. whatever happened or not, Tippi Hedren appears the only exception.

I would love to see a serious director do a bio-pic of his life, it is a classic rags to riches story, but with all the complex human failings and emotions so thoroughly brought to life by the many leading characters in his best films.

Look at the youtube vid called Tippi Hedren in conversation. This will be an eye opener for everyone. WOW!

I love his films, I always have, in fact I own everything he ever made that is available on DVD, including the TV series, even though he only directed a handful of them, but let's not pretend this genius was something he wasn't, a kind and good-natured eccentric. In fact that belittles his genius.

Alma Reville was also an assistant director as was Hitchcock...with Graham Cutts.. Reville could have been one of Britain`s great women directors if she had pursued a career. But she married Hitchcock and he subsumed her within his ego.

It was Alfred Hitchcock Biographer SANDRA SHEVEY who approached Pat Hitchcock with a view to writing a book about Alma Reville. This was in the midNineties. Patricia rang me. I had a landline then. She rang me and said `Sandy`, `Yes, `This is Pat Hitchcock` `Oh`. `Thank you for wanting to write about my mother but I am already doing a book. The working title for the book on which I was working was `Alma Hitchcock The Woman Behind the Man`. It is true arrogance to rip off a freelance writer, especially a Jewish freelance as we are the last to get fed, the lowest paid, the most talented (or you don`t get any pay) etc. I was SHOCKED when her book came out with MY title. Fact is you cannot copyright a title. Still, she should have asked and paid...paid plenty...because it meant I could not use the title myself. But hey in this day and age the attitude of the stinking rich is: YOU want too much so heck I`m not going to deal with you at all. I`ll just take it and sue me if you have the money. Alfred Hitchcock would have been furious. He was one decent guy. He asked me when Spoto was doing his book `Sandra, please do a biography on me. I need your help`.

The reality is that while he was a brilliant fimmaker in many regards, his films are in fact the reflection of his deepest and darkest psychological repressions, his sexual hangups, his fear of being alone and simultaneous replusion of "others"as well as the mental and emotional baggage he carried throughout his life from a childhood characterized by a distant and strict father, a clinging and demanding mother, and his strict Catholic brainwashing.

Hitchcock did not ruin Hedren's career (check out her resume on IMDb) .. she wasn't a good actress, she ruined her own so-called career .. and she married Noel Marshall in '64, an apparently very ambitious Hollywood producer (if that means anything!) and together they made some film called 'Roar' which ended up an unmitigated disaster .. .. anything anybody's seen her in, she's been incredibly underwhelming in ('The Birds', 'Marnie', 'The Countess from Hong Kong', 'Pacific Heights', etc)

This interview is making Alfred seem like a saint, but from watching the movie "The Girl"...he is anything BUT. Wow talk about SUGARCOATING.

What the hell is this Tippi went around saying all these things about how badly she was treated by Alfred and here she's done a complete turn around. Well I guess that's Hollywood. What a bunch of hypocrites do one thing and say the other. This is truly revealing.

Larry King, as usual is completely unprepared for his topic. For anyone who has read Donald Spoto's book the Dark Side of Genius (1983), it is apparent that these women are here protecting the Hitchcock legacy and furthering the myth that he was a amiable sort of English fuddy duddy, kind and generous to his wife and daughter and leading ladies.

Tippi's assertions (virtually everything in "The Girl") are still highly contentious .. many dispute them, the man who worked with Tippi and wrote the book 'Spellbound By Beauty', Donald Spoto is not held in any significant regard by Hitchcock afficionados (apart from his book 'The Art of Alfred Hitchcock') .. .. and the film "The Girl" comes across as a very subjective depiction of events from the p.o.v. of an inexperenced (and frankly very ineffective) actress ..

That's a bunch of crap. Yes I think Halloween and the Fog are good movies, but you cannot compare them to something like Psycho! Without Psycho there would be no Halloween!! John Carpenter admits that himself!

yeah,, tippi was not attraactive and not talented in comparison to the other ladys in hitchcock movies....
