Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome back to the channel, automotive enthusiasts! Today, we are thrilled to present an in-depth review of the unique 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the high-performance SUV that in some ways set a new standard for exhilarating SUV driving experiences. Join us as we dive into the heart of this Italian creation, exploring its design, technology, and raw power that earned it the prestigious title of the fastest SUV to conquer the Nürburgring. We also discuss with the owner the downsides and challenges of owning the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio!
With a scintillating Ferrari-engineered and built 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine under the hood, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio boasts a jaw-dropping 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. We discussed in this Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio that we felt that was underrated too! This robust powertrain rockets the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.6 seconds, giving traditional sports cars a run for their money. As we dissect its performance capabilities, we'll discuss how Alfa Romeo engineered the Stelvio Quadrifoglio to achieve a perfect balance between speed, handling, and comfort, making it equally suitable for spirited track driving and daily commuting. Not that you would take your Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio on a track? I mean, really!?
The allure of Alfa Romeo lies in its timeless and distinctive design language, and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is no exception. Our review will delve into the aesthetics of this masterpiece, examining its iconic "Trilobo" front grille, aggressive aerodynamic features, and signature Quadrifoglio badges that symbolize the brand's racing heritage. Whether you're a seasoned gearhead or a design enthusiast, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio's blend of elegance and sportiness is sure to captivate you.
Alfa Romeo did hold back when equipping the Stelvio Quadrifoglio which is frankly missing some of the state-of-the-art technology. We covered that in this review, with the owner giving his unbiased thoughts. I sure found it interesting hearing about the "rattles" and quarks with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
As a brand renowned for its racing heritage, Alfa Romeo took meticulous care to craft the Stelvio Quadrifoglio with unparalleled handling and dynamics. We took an in-depth POV and launched the car sharing our opinions on the vehicle's chassis, suspension setup, and innovative Q4 all-wheel-drive system, which enhances agility and stability even on the most challenging terrains. Whether you're tackling twisty mountain roads or cruising on the highway, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio promises an engaging drive!
Inside the cabin, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio exudes Italian craftsmanship and luxury. With the owner Kyle, we discussed the materials, supportive seats, and attention to detail that create an environment where performance meets comfort.
🤔 Should You Own One? 👍👎 - In this comprehensive review, we did our best to answer that question. I believe Kyle and I provided an honest assessment of whether the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the right choice for you. While its performance and design may entice enthusiasts, we'll also discuss factors such as practicality, reliability, and ownership costs to help you make an informed decision!

18 and 19 QV has DI motor which have well known carbon build up and causing many issues where most early bad reviews came from. They addressed issue and switched to Port fuel injection and side mounted gasoline direct injection 20~current model QV. If you want to get QV , get the 20~. After 2 months, today was the 3rd time I brought it back to the dealership. They have to reset and install again the new software of the whole infotainment. If they manage I will get my car back tomorrow afternoon..🤨 I will buy a Stelvio QV as soon as I can… 🙋🏻‍♂️

It’s really hard to wrap my head around a $6700 rotors and pads brake job, and $2700 to change the accessory belt, and need to do that every 30k miles. Is the damn belt made of underwear elastic? I’d totally try to stretch out the miles between changes. Somebody has to make a stronger belt. These days what’s even driven by engine, alternator and a/c?!? I’d be curious if Kyle has found an independent mechanic who works on these. That would save a ton of money.

  • @trekhocars

    @trekhocars

    11 ай бұрын

Good questions! For the brakes, I had a friend who is versed in vintage Alfa Romeo work with me on the job (i.e. he did the brakes while he taught me the process). Parts are about $500 for each corner, so about $2,000 if you are changing all four corners. For the belt, 95% percent of the cost is in labor; its wild how much labor goes into a belt! There are a few other mechanics that work on Alfa in our area; but honestly they are charging close to the same rates. For now...I've been spreading out the miles as you suggested, and letting my wife's VW take the brunt of my work miles!

  • @ericbluealfa

I think a lot of us who own these cars are just keeping an eye on the belt. We think that Alfa was being way too conservative with the 4 yr./36k mile interval. I'll probably do my own when it is time.

How is it offroad? Is there an offroad mode? Can you lift it? Air suspension? Im contemplating between this and the porshe Macan GTS. The problem with the GTS is no android auto, so im waiting until PCM 6 on the macans. But the Stilvio QV, it doesn't look like it has that offroad ability like the macan, and i dont think iv seen that you can configure it with a hidden tow hook? How do you tow a trailer? I love the alfa but it doesn't seem to have that dual purpose, do it all car like the macan GTS, its a sports car/family car/offroad/tow/touring car.. etc..the macan seems like its the perfect car for a 1 car garage, unlike the stelvio Q. Or am i wrong?

There is not an off road mode available for the Stelvio; though it is AWD. The ground clearance is OK, though I wouldn't do any off roading with the performance tires and the factory stance. It's okay for clearing low curbs, etc. but I definitely would not classify it as an off road capable vehicle. I have not seen any aftermarket kits for lifting the Stelvio (though there are plenty of lowering options). Stealth does have a hitch available for Quadrifoglio; but all of their marketing shows the base Stelvio in the photos. I'm not sure how installation would go with the placement of the exhaust on the Quad. I've not looked into it as towing has never been a need for me. For us, the only functionality I needed in my daily was a little bit of ground clearance for jobsites, and that is covered with the Quad. So to me, it is simply a racecar with ground clearance and plenty of capacity in the boot!

On the 2.0 Stelvio you can get an optional tow hook, so it would probably work on the quad version (I've seen pics online of quads towing trailers, but I'm not sure if they used a tow hook from the manufacturer or put one on aftermarket). For off-roading, the Porsche is likely better. The Stelvio's suspension design includes really burly/thick arms on the bottom that are very very easy to "beach" in deep mud, sand, or snow (trust me, I've done it, lol). Watch Sarah N Tuned's KZread review - she puts one on a lift and you can immediately see what I'm talking about. The Stelvio also has a really, really terrible turning radius, I believe because of the Ackerman geometry that makes it feel incredibly responsive on the road but leads to some "skittering" (almost like wheel hop) when you're trying to navigate really tight spaces at full lock.

I had some minor issues like AC leak at ac line, window switch is defective but no squeks or rattles so far w 5000 miles on the vehicle. Would I recommend to someone , no probably not! unless they appreciate the driving dynmamics and its uniquness. Most people are sheep so they wont appreciate it and will just complain that its interior isnt like BMW /AUdi and Benz. Also resale value is terrible! Its really only for true petrol heads.

Because of several reasons but I'll try to resume: If you buy it now, you're not getting the 2018 model seen here. The car received a good update in 2019 with several improvements, ...and it's getting another update now in 2023. Aesthetical speaking, is clearly different than the usual stuff in a pleasant looking way for many people And it's also dynamically different for the better, It's the perfectly balanced chassis, the engine, the suspension, the direct steering, the dynamics and pleasure to drive the car offers. They didn't mentioned it on this video, but this car is also very competent, pleasant and comfortable to drive slowly around town or just enjoying a calm drive.
